THE XCERTS

www.myspace.com/thexcerts

The Xcerts are a double edged sword of ferocious guitar and dainty,
poetic words - a distorted pop band who fuse the influences of fellow
countrymen Idlewild and Biffy Clyro with the thoughtful approach to
songwriting of old school ‘emo’ bands like Jimmy Eat World and Bright
Eyes.

After a barrage of dates with Future of the left, Bat for Lashes, Biffy
Clyro, Make Model, Cage the Elephant, Brakes, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly
and Fighting with Wire and recent supports with Enter Shikari and
Feeder, The Xcerts are gearing up to release their debut full length
album recorded with producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers /
Idlewild).

With support from Radio 1, XFM, MTV2, Rock Sound and Kerrang, and a
work ethic of epic proportions with a live show to match, these are
exciting times for the Brighton based trio.

“Nothing short of astonishing”KERRANG!

“Ludicrously Punchy”STEVE LAMACQ

“... they're definitely ones to watch”ROCK SOUND

THE INDELICATES

www.myspace.com/theindelicates

The Indelicates are a five piece, piano and guitar-led pop/rock act
from Sussex, UK. Taking their musical cues from folk and classical
sources - as well as the broad spectrum of British indie rock – they
write melodic, edgy and intellectually coherent songs that have been
consistently well-received in the UK and abroad.

"Neo-Brecht/Weill theatricality? Check. Profane razor strop wit?
Check. Irreverent misanthropy? Check. Scathing socio-cultural
critiques? Check. Acid sweet indiepop songcraft? Check. Meet the
fabulously unfashionable, unfashionably fabulous Indelicates."
ROLLING STONE

"...this is intelligent, poetic indie-rock. In other words, it
bears no resemblance to The View, The Fratellis, or any other examples
of that kind of nonsense"
ARTROCKER

"Stunning."NME

ABOUT: BLANCK

www.myspace.com/aboutblanck

About: Blanck are a 6 person band. They like all kinds of music. This
means sometimes they sound a bit strange. They seem to be making
something we all agree on now. In their words:
“We
smoke on the mic like 'Smokin Joe' Frazier, the hell raiser, raisin'
hell with the flavour. Just cos you got the bacon, the lettuce, the
tomato... Don't mean we're gonna give you our toast! Watch out for
Celine".

"It's sort of Latino-indie-pop meets afro-beat with verve, swagger
and bite. And reminds us mainly of Manu Chao. Which is a VERY good
thing."
ODD WEDNESDAYS

THE GOOD GODS

www.myspace.com/thegoodgodsuk

The Good Gods! have six legs, twenty four fingers and three hearts.
Direct and indirect descendants of the Angryband, The Good Gods! came
into being in the summer of 08’ though remain hidden for some months,
only leaving the safety of the rehearsal room to forage for food,
record and play the occasional gig.

Their three hearts now beating in time to the rhythm of the
inextricably talented Ed Seed, seem energized and improved. This new
energy has acted as a spark of life which is given mass and texture by
the nimble fingered David Hardy, on his ever evolving, uplifting yet
grounding bass guitar. Leaving the mouth and mind of the beast to be
supplied by the bespectacled Tom Hatred, who has been bubbling under
the surface of the indie scene for sometime being called both an
“anti-folk hero” in Dazed and Confused as well as a “new-folk starlet” in the NME, though it is with The Good Gods! he truly finds his voice, both literally and metaphorically.

Attitude is Everything run regular Club Attitude nights to showcase the
talents of disabled and non-disabled musicians and DJ’s, and to promote
best practice by demonstrating to the industry how to put on a fully

POOR - 24%

AVERAGE - 37%

FABULOUS - 30%

9% of the reports did not receive a rating by the mystery shopper.

Attitude is Everything Ltd: Regularly Funded Organisation of the Arts Council England 2008-2011

The Board of Directors of Attitude is Everything (AiE) Ltd are delighted to announce that on Friday 1st February 2008 they received significant news from the Arts Council England (ACE) which informed them of their funding agreement from 2008 -11. AiE have been successful in being selected as a Regularly Funded Organisation for the next three years. ACE have made a commitment to supporting organisations who have a strong and effective influence of increasing audience attendances; and AiE are pleased that they have received this just recognition, at a time when they are separating from their parent organisation and seeking independence.

Attitude is Everything Ltd is currently undergoing a separation from Artsline to develop and realise its potential as an organisation, both in terms of service growth and financial sustainability.  The Arts Council England have supported AiE's change programme and they are pleased that they will be supporting their development. ACE are proposing a significant uplift to AIE to support additional costs we will incur as a result of becoming an independent organisation.  This proposed additional investment will also increase AiE's capacity to provide strategic services for the music industry to improve Deaf and disabled people's access to live music (see the funds in brackets).

Our funding level is confirmed as:

2008/9 - £90,000 (£16,550 additional funds for capacity building and confirmed pending organisational development outcomes)

2009/10 - £92,430 (£24,460 additional funds again subject to business planning)

2010/11 £94,925 (£29,529 additional funds subject to business planning)

AiE Project Manager Suzanne Bull says:

"I believe that the funding level reflects strongly the faith and the passion that all of our supporters, whether they be our volunteer mystery shoppers, bands, artists, DJ's, stewards, representatives in the music industry, former and present staff, and past and present Steering Group members, have had in Attitude is Everything.  We have a brilliant team that has gone from strength to strength over the past 7 years and now the world is our oyster!"

The organisational aims of AiE are to increase access for Deaf and disabled people to live music by working in partnership with audience, artists and the music industry to implement a Charter of Best Practice across the UK. This is achieved by being user-led at every level, to increase awareness of the issues facing Deaf and disabled people at music events, to improve Deaf and disabled people's access to live music, and to demonstrate Best Practice and set an example.  Our objectives will be delivered by the services and projects that we run, including mystery shopping, Disability Equality Training and Club Attitude.

AiE Ltd will be operating as a Company Limited by Guarantee with Registered Charitable Status from the 1st April 2008. AiE have registered charity number 1121975 and company number 6397532. AiE Ltd will remain in the same premises but contact details will be changing on the 1st April 2008. New telephone numbers and email addresses will be communicated to everyone as soon as possible. Further details and information about AiE can be obtained from the AiE Project Manager at attitude@artsline.org.uk or by telephoning 020 7388 2227.  Live Nation and Attitude is Everything

Announce Partnership

London, 12th February, 2007 – Live Nation are delighted to announce their partnership with Attitude is Everything, providing considerable funds to improve disabled and deaf people's access at its 2007 summer festivals Download, 02 Wireless, Hyde Park Calling and Global Gathering.

Attitude is Everything improves disabled people's access to live music by implementing a Charter of Best Practice in grassroots music venues, clubs, festivals and tours across the UK. The company was set up in response to disabled people's complaints of unfair treatment at music venues, clubs and festivals.

Attitude is Everything will work alongside the Live Nation production team, Ticketmaster and Rocksteady to create improved access to Download, 02 Wireless, Hyde Park Calling and Global Gathering for disabled audiences. The organisation will be present on-site with 5 disabled stewards being part of the Rocksteady stewarding team, plus managing an Information Tent in the disabled campsite. Attitude is Everything will also provide Disability Equality Training and marketing festival facilities to a specifically targeted disabled and deaf audience.

Suzanne Bull, Attitude is Everything's Project Manager, welcomed Live Nation's partnership project, saying: "Since the project began in 2000 we have successfully worked on small and large festivals such as Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury 2005 and Truck, amongst others. Because of our previous experience, we believe that Attitude is Everything is best placed within the music industry to improve access to Download, 02 Wireless, Hyde Park Calling and Global Gathering. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Live Nation, Rocksteady and Ticketmaster."

Stuart Galbraith, Managing Director, (UK) Music, Live Nation, added: "Live Nation prides itself to provide excellent entertainment to our customers throughout the year. We are keenly aware that especially during our busy summer festivals the needs for an easy accessible, safe and enjoyable environment for our disabled customers is of prime importance. We look forward to a successful working relationship with Attitude is Everything."

Club Attitude

Club Attitude was relaunched on January 30th at Cargo in Shoreditch. The night was a huge success, which saw us featured in London Lite, Evening Standard and XFM and set a new Club Attitude record for attendance with over 180 tickets sold. Despite the fact that the first sound check was 2 hours late and Alexa didn't realise you needed headphones to mix records, the bands and DJ's were all excellent and it seemed like everyone had a really good time. Photos will be up on our website and Myspace in the very near future.

Special thanks must go out to everybody that volunteered their time and helped on the night. Thank you to Johanna, Craig, Lee, Helen, Alice, Dean, Fred, Mandi, Kathryn, Mimi & everybody that helped distribute flyers or promote the night in any way.

Club Attitude will be collaborating with Camden's VisAbilty Festival of disability arts to bring you a night of bands and DJ's at The Camden Centre on Saturday March 10th from 7pm 'til midnight. Full lineup and details will follow shortly.

We also have a DJ night booked at Big Chill Bar off Brick Lane for Thursday April 12th. Again, full details will be announced soon.

Regional Development Manager

Thanks to generous funding from the Lloyds TSB Foundation and the Goldsmiths Charity, Attitude is Everything has appointed Alice Friedl-Harris as our new Regional Development Manager.  She started on Weds 7th February 2007.

Alice Friedl-Harris has volunteered as a mystery clubber for Attitude is Everything since its advent in 2000. She is an avid clubber & festival goer with a vested interest in improving accessibility, as she is disabled herself.

After graduating from The University of Brighton and The Open University with a 1st-Class degree in Literature and The History of Design, Alice went on to have various roles with Brighton & Hove Council. She also works as a promotional model for VisABLE People, an agency which campaigns for positive images of disabled people to appear in the media.

She is delighted about joining forces with Attitude is Everything, and is looking forward to having a positive impact on venues around Greater London and the South East, with a particular focus on Brighton & Hove.

Alice will be working Wednesday – Friday each week and can be contacted by email at regional@artline.org.uk.

New T-Shirts

Having sold out of our previous designs, we've managed to get some new T-Shirts designed by our freelance designer Kathryn Corlett.

The T-Shirts are available in Blue, Green and Brown in sizes S – XL. You can order the T-Shirts by emailing me with your requests. They cost £10 including postage (to UK) or a measly £8 if you buy them in person or at one of our club nights.

Photos of the T-Shirts are available on our Myspace or website shop and can be seen modelled by the lovely Alexa Chung of Popworld.

We still have a few wristbands left as well, go to www.makewristbandshistory.org to order online.

Thanks everybody x
