Super duper whale of a birthday party for our sweet friend Heather! I'd say everyone on and off stage had a great time.
Robbie Fulks across the street at the Muse was pure delight, and his sense of humor had me laughing harder than I've laughed in weeks. Looking forward to his return so I can sit and listen/watch the whole show properly. Such a pleasant surprise.

Another amazing artist live and in person. Lots of fun running into a wide sampling of all the local musicians from Charlotte attending this show! Opener Deer Tick was interesting (a bit much to drink first?) I think they'd be better at the Milestone..and I'm sure they'd agree. More sooner..or later..

Outstanding performance..by both acts. AND K on Violin, Dave on Drums for Regina. Night out on the town after the show, and crashing at our favorite Condo in Asheville. Breakfast the next day at Early Girl and all was good.

After too many years between visits..well maybe a couple, but still too long, Magician Michael Casey returned to Charlotte. He usually accompanied another one of our favorites, Cory Branan, but this time it was HIS gig he was here for. Lark & Key Gallery hired him to entertain the crawlers at both the Southend location AND the NoDa location. And entertain he did. After we had dinner at the Big Lebowski (awesome!), he threw some new, amazing tricks our way (also making our daughter smile :-)), before we headed to the first Gallery. Seeing old and new tricks done over and over is fun, but almost just as fun is watching the reactions of those newcomers who have never seen him before. The highlight, as another friend Michele mentioned, was the senior couple who have been married 40 years. They were adorable!
NoDa was crazy-filled with crawlers on this first Friday, so there was never a shortage of willing participants of the magic.
Cary Ann Hearst & Stephanie's ID also rocked the Muse that night too!
However, now I was really beat and could not wait to have a break in all this super-tremendous-blessed-fun-exciting-unpredictable life. Time for a little breather. Which meant I had to miss the lovely & talented and oh so sarcastically perfectly humorous and insanely intelligent Scott Miller tomorrow night. Missed two good ones this week, but the rest more than made up for it..sort of..dang I love them all! lol.
Wow..what a week!...
and more to follow...
stay tuned.

Nope. Couldn't do it. I hardly ever miss an Angie show, but after this last weekend of touring, and a personal issue with our daughter, I had to miss this one. Next time. Angie always lift mine, and everyone else's, spirits. Experience the joy :-).

This is an artist who has been on my radar for many years now, and finally I got to see him live. AND with a cellist AND drummer behind him! Simply sublime. He was perfect at the Muse, and he thoroughly gave the late night crowd their money's worth and then some, rewarding them for coming out on a Wed. after Halloween weekend for his late show. Super nice guy too. I have SO much to catch up on in these blogs, which are now turning into more of a record of shows rather than reviews, unfortunately, that I'm sadly rushing through at the moment. Take my word for it..he's extremely good and a great songwriter.. http://www.myspace.com/gregoryalanisakov

On the way home from Asheville we dropped (by invitation of course) on Malcolm & Cyndi Holcombe for a couple cups of coffee and an outdoor picnic table with a view visit. Always extremely pleasant an experience. But it ended all too soon and we got in the car, drove back home, and then once home, turned right around, picked up Monty Chandler, who drove us to Chapel Hill to catch by surprise Joshua James & the Great Northplatte one last time before their tour ends. I was SO exhausted, but totally glad we got to see them.

I still can hardly believe I actually saw this living legend live and in concert and for 3 whole hours. One of the best shows I've ever experienced..probably at least in the top 5..or maybe even 3. I don't know. He's phenomenal..and I saw him live. I never really thought I would. Wow.
