So I’ve gone and joined a clan. For the uninitiated, this is somewhat like a gaming "team" but not quite the same thing. We are a group of folks who enjoy playing games together. Specifically, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Team fortress 2.

Where most clans focus on who can "pwn" the most "n00bz," we tend to focus more on maturity and social interaction [and having fun and not screaming like 10 year olds.]

In-game, players can "spray" a logo or image up on walls. A lot of us have fun making our own personalized images. Many of us try to incorporate our clan’s logo in the mix, and many of us just ignore it all and post lolcats or some junk.
...or porn. So I made this one:

I figured that since I’d been in the clan for a little bit, I’d make one that went a little more with the theme of the clan in terms of color and incorporating the logo. I think it looks a little cheesy, but it goes along with a lot of the stuff you see in these games. And I was playing around with transparency... and I think it looks rad posted on a wall with the textures showing through...
(just pretend like the black isn’t there)

And FINALLY, I wanted to make one Team Fortress 2-specific. I was inspired to make this one after seeing "100 Kirbies" on VGCats.com
(Just imagine that orange junk is a wall texture.)

So i’m always listening to music on the train. I’m that guy who is shamelessly mouthing the words, possibly even while drumming on your seat.

For some reason, the other day when I put on This Must be the Place by Talking Heads, I just had a moment and an actual tear came to my eye. I don’t know what it was that got to me, but I felt so extremely happy and peaceful. I wanted to share the song with someone, but that probably wouldn’t have gone over very well if I had tearfully approached another rider with an offer of headphones.

In conclusion:
I love music and I kind of felt like an idiot for a minute there.

I've decided I have something worthwhile to blog about (to me anyway).

Sometimes I just love taking a step back and looking at what a damn nerd I can be. This essentially always involves me being a computer dork. For this first episode, I make more than the necessary effort to play a video game I miss.

I recently dug up and (partially) dusted off my old PS2 (I am an xbox guy) in order to show Tiny how Katamari Damacy plays. She had somehow never seen it in action. I was unable to locate my A/V cable to hook it up to the TV, so I forgot about it for a little bit.

Tonight, I found in a binder copies of Rival Schools and Gundam Battle Assault II. OH HELL YES. But what was I to do without my cables!?

I then remembered that I have a modded xbox, a PS1 emulator, and a copy of MagicISO. A CD rip and FTP transfer later, and I am fighting gigantic robots and teenagers with physically impossible hairdos.

I love being a nerd.
