Hi guys,
Before anything, we would like to extend our most sincere thank you to all the friends/fans of the band who have given us your love and support throughout the last 4+ years of our existence. What can we say? We love you. You are the reason we kept it together in the first place... so thank you!
Unfortunately it is true... We have collectively decided to end The Mercurial and move on. It's always hard to do things like this... like in any relationship. Although it might not appear so, we really believe that this is an opportunity for all of us to move on to better, more fulfilling things. Whenever a band breaks up, you always hear "due to creative differences... blah blah blah." Believe us, we know. However, we really are all excited about being able to pursuse other musical and non musical things...so keep an eye out for new stuff from us individually in the near future!
Anyway, our final show will be Thursday, April 2nd @ The Crazy Donkey (w/ The Pink Spiders). We would love to see all the familiar faces there to help us say goodbye for now and of course celebrate the last 4 years!
We love you guys... seeya on the 2nd!

If the station doesn't come in for you, you can always listen online at www.wmjcfm.com!

Thanks!

To everyone that came down last night, thank you so much for it. Whether it was by bus, train, ship or plane, so many of you showed up, and the numbers were beyond what we even predicted. And what I said at the end of the set I meant more than ever. I really didn't want to get off that stage; the energy of the crowd last night was off the effing charts. In fact, I haven't seen crowd surfing in such a small venue since Ground Zero in Bellmore, circa 1998, haha..

The truth of it is, there were some real influential industry folks down there last night, and there was no better show for them to come down to. So again, especially to the new fans that jumped on board to see us for the first time, thank you so very, very much for having an incredible time with us, on and off the bus, and I hope you enjoyed yourselves just as much.

One more special thanks, to The Masquerade Alliance, who really helped get the people together for the show, especially Kelia & Dean. You guys're the greatest, and I can't wait for what's to come.

If you haven't seen it happening already, you'll be seeing it soon. the Masquerade Alliance is finally in full effect!! For those who don't know, the Masquerade Alliance [MA] is The Mercurial's official Street Team, based mainly on promotion to spread the name and sounds of the band to anything with a pulse. Those of you who've already contacted us about it will be approached first, if you haven't been already, but for anyone who hasn't yet shown interest, it's far from too late. To apply for the Masquerade Alliance is simple. Just message the MA myspace with the following information included and we'll get right back to you! (click this link for a shortcut to the space, or click on the Masquerade Alliance icon from our Top Friends list).

Information to be included in your message:
(feel free to keep these answers short; elaboration not necessary)

1. Full Name:

2. How old are you?

3. What town/state do you live in?

4. If you live out of state, please supply your address, so we can mail you promotional swag:

5. Are you in school?  If so, what high school or college do you attend?

6. If you already have, where did you first see The Mercurial live?

7. Everyone in the Street Team will do everything in our power to promote The Mercurial
(yes, "our". We're a part of the team too!). However, is there a duty or job that you feel you would be best at/most prefer to do? Please pick from one of the following:

        a. Online Promotion: Posting & commenting with banners/fliers, promotional comments, etc. on myspaces, forums and other high volume online sites.

        b. Physical Promotion: Going to venues before or during shows and retail locations/stores to make sure they have recent Mercurial fliers available & visible, as well handing out fliers to people when possible.

        c. Other: Anything else you can think of to help promote the band that we haven't mentioned yet.

8. In addition to promotion and the normal duties of the street members, would you be interested in further assisting the band in other ways, such as graphic art (for online fliers/banners, etc.), (live) photography or video, merch booth sales at shows
(ages 18+) or otherwise? (optional)

9. Lastly, do you have AIM?  If so, please list your screen name so we can contact you:
(optional)

So that's it! We look very much forward to hearing from all of you, and the sooner the better, cuz this Alliance is forming ranks quickly, and the more active & participant in the MA, the higher your rank becomes over time, which leads to a little extra down the road...

We hope you're as excited as we are-- see ya soon!

<3,
~The Mercurial

Thanks Tim Towner from TheDailyChorus.com for the following post about us! Please check out the site and show him your thanks as well...

A&R Ears....

JT from Hawthorne Heights found a great band. In his blog post, he mentioned The Mercurial, a band based out of Long Island.

Ironically, the CD has been sitting on my desk for about 2 weeks, and I had yet to give it a spin. I read JT's recommendation and popped it in. Wow.

Take Queens of the Stone Age and Mindless Self Indulgence, with the vocal style of Davey Havok (AFI) mixed with Vince Neal (Motley Crue) and you have The Mercurial. There are also sporadic female yelps.

This band is unpredictable. It's definitely a sound you might have to get use to. I know all the major labels are interested in 2*Sweet but I think The Mercurial is what 2*Sweet will develop into.

Take a listen and let me know what you think.

haha. I tend to have a unique taste in music sometimes. For example, I know that some people can't get used to the sound of 2*Sweet, yet, I listen to them.
The Mercurial is pretty good. They have an interesting sound. Their Bio explains them quite well. I'm digging it. :)

The only comparison that I could draw between them and 2*Sweet is their vocals. The band sounds much heavier overall and has more of a rock feel, whereas 2*Sweet has more of a pop sound.

I actually never heard of this band even though they're from LI. This was also my favorite out of JT's recs... I also think your comparisons are pretty spot on haha.

Toph....I'm glad to hear they put on a good live show. It's one thing to sound different on CD, but it's another to pull it off live, without it sounding like chaos.

I def want to see them live.

Like iv'e said in the previous post, this band is def doing something new and exciting but it's just something that does not really interest me.

I have seen them live a handful of times as well and they do put on a great live show, the front man does a terrific job. But I just can not get into them.

I literally got chills when I first listened to this album. It's definitely an acquired taste but they have commercial appeal.

Look forward to see what you guys think!

To all of you that jumped on the bus out to Asbury Park, NJ with us last Saturday, thank you so much for making it an increeeeedible time!  In fact, if you didn't enjoy yourself on the trip out to Seaside Heights this weekend, please feel free to reply with the loudest of obscenities.
Tons of bands (Blameshift & Cass Dillon!), incredible people, skeeball, excessive fake arguing, fireworks, the scariest $10 I've ever spent and fried Oreos on a beautiful day! What could top that? Maybe baby corns.

Thanks a million. We had a blast.

Dear Mercurial Fans,

First and foremost, we would like to give our most sincere gratitude to you, the fans, for making our CD Release Party one of the best experiences we've ever had as a band. We were completely blown away with the turnout and intense energy of what seemed like every single person in the room. This band is incredibly lucky to have the support of such amazing fans, friends and families; we wouldn't be what we are today without you. After a night like 4/26/08, every one of us is more anxious than ever to get back on the stage and share the floor with the ones who make us love being there. Nothing can amount to the appreciation and love that we have for you.

Thank You.
Chris, Dan, Anthony, Lauren & Scott
