THE VIPER ROOM'S GIRL ON GIRL SERIES PRESENTS DJ NICOLETTE WITH SPECIAL GUESTS DJ EVA & DJ SYRENA

Los Angeles, CA (December 19, 2008)-- The Viper Room announces a new addition to its weekly Girl on Girl line-up. On Tuesday, December 23, DJ Nicolette will join the show, with special guests DJ Eva and DJ Syrena. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through www.viperroom.com Doors open at 8:30 pm, show starts at 9:30 pm.

DJ Nicolette will bring her skills to the Viper Room with dance tracks from her critically acclaimed albums. Nicolette first came to the music world's attention in 1990 when her collaboration with Shut Up and Dance led to her first single 'School of the World/Single Minded People' becoming an underground smash, followed by the 1992 release of her critically acclaimed first album 'Now Is Early.' She was then approached by Massive Attack, which resulted in her singing on and co-writing two singles 'Sly' and 'Three' on Massive Attack's 1994 "Protection" album. In 1995, Nicolette was signed to Gilles Peterson's Talkin' Loud label, releasing 'No Government', the first single from her new album, the same year. After several more groundbreaking single releases, the album "Let No-one Live Rent Free In Your Head" was released in 1996 and widely described as "a masterpiece." It was a critical and commercial success, also hitting the dancefloors with a plethora of excellent remixes of each of its singles. In between times, Nicolette collaborated with various respected artists (amongst them Plaid), on their own projects, released a DJ mix album on Studio K7 and started DJing, which she still does to this day. In 1999, Nicolette left Talkin' Loud to set up her own label, Early Records. She is currently working on her next and fourth album. For more info on DJ Nicolette, visit www.myspace.com/nicolettemusic

Also spinning is DJ Eva, who has firmly established herself as one of the most respected DJ's in the electronic music scene. Eva has headlined prestigious clubs around the world, touring throughout the US, Europe, Asia and South America. Her cutting -edge style and unique diversity defy categorization, with the rare ability to effortlessly cross genres with a balance of edgy & sexy. Hear more from DJ Eva at www.myspace.com/evilbunnie

DJ Syrena rounds out the line-up and serves as the resident DJ for Girl on Girl night each week at The Viper Room. Dubbed as one of "electronica's shining lights" in 2007 by KARMA Magazine she has been rocking dance floors in the U.S. and internationally since late 1999. A consummate beat mixer who cut her own groove in the pulsating energy of the Los Angeles nightlife scene, Syrena's sound is bold, sexy and confident. More about DJ Syrena, can be found at www.myspace.com/syrena

Time is fast approaching for the annual Los Angeles Decompression party! I'm excited and honored to be performing on the Mutaytor stage with some of the most talented, and wickedly creative artists known to Burning Man! My set time is 4:45-5:15pm-SHARP, so make sure to boogie on over if you wanna catch my set.

Some important info about the event and line-up below:

The event will be held in a BRAND NEW location this year. No more partying on the streets, now we have acres of beautiful lawn all with the amazing view of downtown we have always had.

The location is at:

Los Angeles State Historical Park
1245 N. Spring Street, 90012

We are very grateful to the State Park Rangers for allowing us to use their wonderful location. When you see them around, tell them thanks! They have been truly great to work with.

Time: The festivities will start at Noon and end at Midnight.

Cost: Entrance to the event is
$10 in costume or with a Metro Rail pass!
$20 in street clothes.
(Children under 12 are FREE!)

There will be alcohol available on site this year (woo!) as well as food vendors. You are welcome to bring your own food, but we can not allow alcohol in the park outside of the approved areas, so please do not bring it. We are being asked to check for alcohol and weapons as you enter. Please be prepared for this at the gate so we can keep the line moving.

Parking:
On Site and Secure Parking available at the North end of the park off Baker for $10, so please CARPOOL. Or ride the Metro Rail to the China Town exit and enter at the South end of the park off Spring St.

We are a No Glow Stick event. In keeping with our green initiatives, we ask that you leave the glow sticks at home. They only fill up our landfills with materials that never decompose. Instead, bring reusable lights, like LEDs or EL Wire.

For the first time we will have a chapel. You too can get married at Decompression! Whether for real or just to your playa partner, you can make the moment last a lifetime.

We are pleased to present the following acts, art, camps, cars and more!!!!!

By the gracious powers that be, I was invited to the Grammys this year by my dear friend Pamela. The 50th annual show marks the 2nd year in a row that I got to attend. It was truly an amazing experience. My only regret is that I didn't have enough juice in my camera battery to take more pictures, but I made sure to save enough for the official after party, because dammit all, Cyndi Lauper was scheduled to perform! I adore her!

After lamenting to my friend the previous day how for 1 reason or the other, I missed every Daft Punk concert last year because I had gigs or sick, or what have you. And then, the next night, I got my moment when Kanye performed 'Stronger' and boom in the middle of the song, the glowing pyramid appeared, and opened revealing the robotic French duo onstage! Haha – brilliant! My live Daft Punk experience at last.

Other great Grammy moments were the Time with Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Feist and and most of all, Tina Turner. That woman is incredible, still rockin' it. But I have to say my favorite was Cyndi Lauper at the after-party. We actually passed her in the hall on the way in, and I was awestruck, she was so close, I wanted to go up and give her a hug, but all I could manage was a smile and kept walking. She looked fabulous. And her performance was fantastic. To see her live in such an intimate setting was truly remarkable.

Here's to more great music moments to come!

Back from a fabulous vacation in the cosmopolitan beach town of Playa del Carmen. This place is the destination for amazing music amid gorgeous, caribbean blue beaches, also known as the Mayan Riviera. This city and Dubai are among the fastest growing cities in the world. It is a hotbed of sexy, modern design with an eco-minded consciousness. The human landscape is as beautiful as the natural.

And the music!! When I say there was good music everywhere, I mean, EVERYwhere! On the beaches, in the restaurants, in the stores, not to mention the clubs...there was an endless stream of quality house, techno and electro, with hotels and spas soothing visitors with all the right downtempo. There is also a plethora of rock and blues at various spots. These people know their music!

Unbeknownst to me, The BPM Conference (no relation to the magazine) happened the week I was there. It seemed to be like a WMC startup. There was a week of parties of which I attended 3 events. Steve Lawler kicked off the festivities opening night at Coco Maya, minimal techno dancing right on the beach, Pablo Ceballos at El Cielo, and the Clash party with Sean Miller and Jonny White at La Santanera (Thievery Corporation's club). All amazing, and the clubs were top notch with great sound. This girl got her dance on!!

Even though I was on vacation, I had the impromptu opportunity to DJ right on the main strip at a super cool spot, Kartabar, I had the impromptu opportunity to DJ right on the main strip at a super cool spot, Kartabar. They enjoyed my set so much the 1st night they had me come back for a 2nd!
