Mrs. Yancey is need of financial help. There's been all kinds of fiasco type issues with Dilla's estate which has caused her great suffering on top of the loss of her son. Now she's dealing with Lupus herself, the same disease that took Dilla's life and is currently having hardships with keeping her own lights on and household running. Dilla remains to be one of my biggest musical heroes and inspirations and I'm blogging about this to create awareness of this situation. There are two ways you can help. Go to Myspace.com/THEGIANTPEACH and click on the donate button. This is in no way associated to the Dilla Foundation or the estate of James Yancey. It is not a tax deductable donation and all the proceeds will go directly to Mrs. Yancey.

The other way is by downloading this track by the Sollilaquists Of Sound "Death of The Muse" ft/ Ma Dukes, J-Live, & Chali 2na (of Jurassic 5). Click the image below for more info

I don't usually blog much but I've been having the best time with all the parties I've been doing lately, especially the theme joints. I just got back from rocking Paris with the Michael VS Prince jumpoff and I gotta say that Parisians really know how to get it in!
They were amped from the beginning to end and responded well to to rare joints like Life of The Party by J5 and my secret weapon live version of Dorothy Parker. Much love to Twine and JJ1one for your hospitality, and the fly pics.

Thank you Toronto for a super slammin Wonder-Full experience last weekend (9/12/08).
The party was rammed before midnight and capacity with a line down the block by 1am.
The energy in the room reminded me of how it used to be in NY when me and Bobbito first started doing the thang in NY. I was high off the vibes for the entire weekend. Can't wait to go back!!

If anyone's gonna knock me in the head it has to be Stevie! I was busy trying to find some beats for him to get off on (shoulda had serato hooked up, Damn!) but while I was arched beneath him he managed to knock me in the head with the mic while singing "Uptight". Mad heads saw that sh*t too. Classic moment! Better than him showing up!

All jokes aside, he did it again. This time the party was more massive that the last and everyone was in total shock when he walked in the place, including myself. For many it was their first time seeing him up close and personal. Even though we have a relationship now it still bugs me out every time he's in my presence. I still don't know where I am right now! Hahahaahahaa. One of the highlights for me was dropping Syreeta's "I love everything about you" while he sat on stage next to Aisha. The man started crying! I made Stevie cry! I was like woah, should I take this joint off? Nah. It's all good. He really loved that woman's soul. He even talked about it on the mic before he left the premises. For real though, this last WONDER-Full event was another epiphany I never imagined coming true when we first started doing these tributes almost a decade ago. This was Stevie's birthday celebration extended through Father's Day which he called the Finale. I couldn't have been more honored to be recognized as the messenger of his soul.

Love to Keita (KeiStar Productions), the hardest working promoter in NY who busted her arse to make it all pop, Mark James and Aisha for successfully, plotting this suprise and almost giving me a heart attack behind the decks! And my partner in Wonderland, Bobbito. Whew, what a weekend.

'Ain't no party like a Keistar party cuzza Keistar party don't stop!!!

Stevie is an enigmatic body of illumation. He's beyond human. He's a possessor of
everything that life has to offer. Strength, wisdom, positivity and courage. The utlimate purveyor of love. Mystical and Godlike. In this lifetime we will never see another individual that continuously fights for universal equality and love through song and action in the magnitude that he has expressed over the past 4 decades. Truely ingenious.

I'm very greatfull to have met him. I'm also thankfull that that I've been given the opportunity to spread his message along with my brother Bobbito to thousands of people from NY to Japan via the WONDER-Full events and various compilations. I guess this is one of those unforeseen missions that the creator has given me the power to achieve. Those that attend these events know exactly how spiritual they are. It's like the man is there!

Speaking of which, the reason I've decided to disclose these personal sentiments here on the "Space" is mainly because the Wonderman blessed us with his presence this past Saturday. I still don't quite know what to do with myself. Writing this is helping me to come to grips. While experiencing an overwhelming sold out concert at Madison Square Garden hours prior to our after party, I had to ponder. How could a man so powerful and influential to everyone in this arena, show up and get close to a mere fragment of his fanbase down the block from where this is going down a few hours later? And later on I figured it out. He cares. Genuinely and sincerely. The man is simply a walking heart. The world would be a better place if we had more Stevie's. For real.

He personally gave me his gratitude for spreading his music and message. I feel a bit empowered by this but at the same time baffled. All good though. I'll get it together at some point. Enjoy his words posted in the player. More pictures and visuals to come.

Love to Mark James, and love in a major way to Keita (KeiStar Productions) who breaks her neck every single time to put these events together. You are God sent. Keistar Run Tings!! Love to Bobbito, my partner, my man my mellow, rocking with you is so much fun man!

Steveland Judkins Morris, I can't even explain my love for you, your music and your message. Thank you. God Bless You!!!!!!!!

Aight... so I get to the Lupus Walk this past Saturday October 12th in NY to discover ONE person standing there with the J Dilla Project banner in his hand. Me and Houseshoes look at each other like WTF?!!! This can't be. One of the most influential beat makers of all time dies from a killer disease, someone that so many people claim to love so much and yet no one shows up for the cause? I was soooo disapointed by being the ONLY NY representative there. People can go to a club, get a few drinks, shake their asses but can't get up early on a saturday morning and walk 3 miles in one hour and donate a measly 5 bucks to help find a cure for Lupus? Absurd. In case you forgot, James Yancey is a brother who made some sick mind altering music and damn near sacrificed his life by making beats in his hospital bed with a weak body and sore fingertips. Most of ya'll under the same circumstances would just lay up and not do shit! Next year NY better step it up for real. It's embarassing. If you're not able to physically attend you can do a virtual walk (meaning yo lazy ass don't even have to leave the crib), you can simply make a pledge. Get involved! Go to www.myspace.com/jdillaproject for precise details on anything Dilla (the J Dilla Foundation is shut down so don't bother with that. This this is the real deal). There are more Lupus walks coming up in more parts of the US. http://walk.lupusresearch.org/site/PageServer.

Besides finding a cure for Lupus, Ma Dukes is still dealing with outstanding medical bills so keep them donations poppin! If you still bump Ruff Draft, The Shining, Donuts, Welcome 2 Detroit, and the many other bangers that he's contributed to the game then you obviously feel him enough to do much more! Stop sleeping.
