ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Kelly Dalton is a songwriter from Los Angeles and has
a beautiful, silky voice and his witty, poetic songs
are without exception of superior quality. He knows a
lot of sincere emotion in his voice healing process
and thereby almost all attention to themselves to
attract. Dalton has really grown up in a musical
family, his parents sat in The Back Porch Majority, a
popular folk band from the 60's decade. If you as a
child were already
surrounded by musicians, it can hardly be otherwise if
you can also write songs and play instruments, as well
Kelly (guitar, piano, harmonica). Dalton is a
singer-songwriter who inspired his search for folk and
rock, so his influences range from Cat Stevens, Simon
&
Garfunkel and James Taylor. His debut album "The Love
in Every Bar", last year, is with us still in the
books as one of the most inspiring American folk album
of the past
few years. "The Love in Every Bar" is a pleasant
combination of guitar and vocals, very nice for the
background, but also very suitable for intensive
listening. Sometimes he does a bit of Jack Johnson
thought, but Kelly really has a unique style. In the
year that he was hard at work on his first album he
lost
two people who were very important for him. The death
of his best friend and his ex-girlfriend has seized
him very hard, almost had his album not complete.
Yet he continued, because they probably also happy
that he had seen his dreams to reality. With this
thought, he really provided a very beautiful album,
which his natural life stories about love and loss.
"The Love in Every Bar" is simply a plate without
bells and whistles that excels in its subtlety. What
we can say of his new ep Home with six strong
tracks, songs that again that relaxed atmosphere and
to convey clearly are an extension of his debut,
though his excellent piano playing in these songs more
evident. Vocally, Dalton is joined in a couple tracks
with
singer / songwriter Holly Brook, from Fort Minor fame,
but also the
musical accompaniment is once again strong, including
Cisco Deluna (dobro, accordion) & Ben Pringle (organ,
vocals), from the band The Rentals.
These are artists who always accompany him to his live
performances. The foundation remains the voice of
Dalton, his guitar and modest rhythm. On this EP, in a
production of Thom Flowers, six are beautiful, gentle
country and folk songs, where the main strength lies
in the clear, dreamy vocals of Dalton. He kicks off
with the lovely song "Let Me In" and with track two,
the title track, he takes me. Immediately a classic
one. His voice is beautifully catchy warm weather also
excellent to his right in the only cover "I'm On Fire"
by Springsteen, the constructive "Like A River" and
the sensitive ballad "Alley". Kelly
Dalton is a songwriter who wants to go on without
falling the most beautiful things. Where after its
strong debut, but now this EP actually seems quite
ordinary, invites "Home" time after time to listen
again and even a particularly welcome guest in the
late morning.

Hello everyone,
So I thought I'd like to share some album reviews coming in from Europe. Click the links below to read some. "The Love In Every Bar" is album of the week on the Swedish music website
Hemifran & also "Golden Days" was added to the Dutch National Radio today!.

Kelly Dalton  "The Love In Every Bar"

"Kelly Dalton doesn't make pure folk music like his parents did  -  His
mellow and beautiful melodies remind me more of James Taylor and, more
recently, Darden Smith. Melodies that feel comfortable like a soft pillow,
but Dalton can hit hard with it, in the right way, at the right moments."

- Patrick Donders / Hanx Net -

http://www.hanx.net/recensieimg/maart07/dalton.htm

"My favorites on this gem are "Leave This Town", "Come Again", "Coming Home" and "Save It For Me". This is about as pure in voice that I've heard from the male perspective in a long time, and not since Jackson Browne have I heard a singer/songwriter musician dig this deep about life and moving on with life. So far one of the best releases of the year. Kelly Dalton is clearly one of the more gifted singer/songwriters out there today. His ability to turn a phrase and make your heart break is beautifully complemented by melodies that leaving you humming for hours on end.

Hello from Boston

I'm admittedly not too blog friendly…but I just finished playing my last show on this mini tour of the East Coast and wanted to share some of my experiences. I'll be back in town this week and celebrating my birthday Friday night December 8th at The Hotel Café w/ the full band. Come party with us.

Until then, here are some experiences from some of the shows the past 10 days on the road…

8/24/06-Hartford, Connecticut-Sully's Pub

+Shared the bill w/ friend Brad Byrd

+Free Guinness

-Hockey players doing Jager shots during "Worth It All"

-Brad & I listening to the 7 piece headliner do a two hour sound check at 9pm before our acoustic sets.

-Sorry, NY and Chicago, but so far CT has the best pizza ever

(Thanks to Rob at Sully's, Kristen, and Ben)

8/25/06-The Shorebreak-Narragansat, Rhode Island

I rented a little Dodge with a small engine, a strong e-brake and the pungent aroma of some really bad pot.

It was a beautiful drive to Rhode Island. Living in LA, I'm not used to nice drives. It wasn't the usual never-ending concrete freeway of gridlock, but instead, back roads, and what seemed like millions of trees (which is commonly referred to as a "forest" in other parts of the country), and not a single car horn or finger all day.

My good friend Alex Nagle lives in Rhode Island, so we stayed at his house in the rural woods of Perryville, RI with him & his trusty dog Zoey. She's the first dog I've met who will literally play fetch with a napkin, a playing card, and even, a beer cap. Zoey has since contracted Lyme's disease and is in my thoughts.

Alex plays guitar and sings in a great band called The Chasers. I opened up for them that night at a club called the The Shorebreak Before the show, I was flattered to see a picture of me and my cd in the local paper (which I'll post soon for your viewing pleasure).

The Shorebreak is a great venue. They converted an old movie theatre into a full bar/music venue w/ a huge screen behind the stage where they were playing old Johnny Cash concerts; burlesque shows etc. in between and during acts. The locals and staff were very genuine and friendly. The Chasers rocked the house after me (check them out in my top friends). This was one of my favorite shows of the trip. Many thanks to my good friend Alex as well as Jason at the Shorebreak.

8/26/06-Perryville, Rhode Island

We went down to the local docks Sunday evening and picked out a few live lobsters and crabs. Alex steamed them up while I sat outside in the nice cold and grilled some meat. I'm no food critic, but it was the best Lobster I have ever had. We finished off the night sipping on some ol'bourban, passing smoke and laughing at the old times. I think nights like these need to happen more in everyone's life.

8/27/06-Harper's Ferry- Boston, Mass

It was another beautiful drive. This time from Rhode Island to Boston. I noticed that three hour drives go quicker when there's something nice to look at.

Once I got into Boston, I instantly learned that pedestrians with or without ipods do not read WALK/DON'T WALK signs and do not obey basic traffic laws in general. They just walk. I almost took out two students within my first ½ hour of being in the city and all I did was go through a green light…the show that night was good, except slow as it was a Monday night at 11:30. (Thanks to the two guys/hecklers who refused free cds…those are the kinds of fans that make this worth it.)

- 8/28/05-The Living Room-NYC

The Living Room is known as New York's version of The Hotel Café, so I was really looking forward to this. Prior to leaving L.A, I was contacted by NYC bassist Malcolm Gold who offered to sit in on my two NYC gigs w/ his friend and drummer Clancy David. The crowd was similar to The Hotel Café and we had a great set. Malcolm & Clancy were really easy and fun to jam with and I look forward to playing w/ these guys again when I get back out there. Brad Byrd played after me and this time I was able to hear his band backing him up, which was great to see.

12/01/06-Tommy Doyle's-Cambridge, Mass.

Tommy Doyle's was formerly the House Of Blues in Cambridge, MA. A three-story house in historic Harvard Square, it was more of a restaurant/bar than a venue, but it was a good time nonetheless. After I played we stuck around to watch Brad. Many thanks to him and Marni for their East Coast wisdom and pleasant company. After the show we took a cab over the Charles River to Fanueil Hall. Cobblestone streets and pubs crawling with college kids greeted us. I made some great new friends in town. Thank you to Jared and Laura for your hospitality and for providing us with much laughter and some great Boston food.

All in all it was a great trip. It was a pleasure to meet new friends and see some old ones. Thanks again to everyone who made the trek possible.

See you all again soon.

Hello all
I'm new to this blog thing and tend to get a lot of the same questions from people, so I'd like to answer some of those and keep people up to date from time to time on what's happening. So here we go.

I am in process of recording a couple new songs to complete my debut album "The Love In Every Bar", which will be released this summer of 2006 w/ a U.S tour to follow.

"Golden Days" will be a featured track on the new Maximum Ride series of books from best selling author James Patterson (His last book in this series was a 12 week best seller!). It's titled "Maximum Ride-School's Out-Forever" The first 100,000 hard copies sold will include the soundtrack which also include my friend Holly Brook (check her out on myspace) and many more. Release date for the book/cd is May 23. Visit their page here to become a fan and purchase the book/cd.

My favorite Los Angeles & online radio station KCRW has been supporting me the past few months and has played numerous songs of mine and I cant thank them enough. Please listen and support them. Here in Los Angeles its 89.9 and online it http://www.kcrwradio.com. I gotta tell ya it was pretty cool to listen to my $10 alarm clock radio at 2am and hear Leave This Town out of the blue.

I continue to perform at my favorite hometown venue The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood every month or so. Please visit them online at hotelcafe.com if you're in the area. Every night you can find great singer songwriters doing their thing in a most intimate setting and the vibe and staff are second to none. I will also continue w/ spot dates in San Diego, Santa Barbara and wherever else my VW with no A/C can make it. Please sign my mailing list on my site to keep up to date on those dates.

I've had a revolving door of friends in my band this past year who I deeply appreciate and have had some incredible times and shows I will never forget. I am now back with my most consistent line-up.
On lap steel guitar, mandolin, and accordion is my main man Cisco Deluna. Holding down the bass Mr. Milo Decruz. Owen Barnhart handles the drums and percussion and new comer Kevin Haaland will add some more guitar and vocals.

So there it is, one blog down, many to follow. Thanks for all of your continued daily support and kind comments and emails. They really keep me going more then youll know and I look forward to performing and meeting you all this summer.
