review from Hussieskunk punk rock radio in canada www.hussieskunk.com/reviews.shtml

Classic punk rock right here. Can't get much better than this. Street punk rock with the British snarl and attitude. Hotwired delivers a nine track stunner here, guaranteed to get the crustiest punks to sit up and shout out right along with the band. With tracks discussing drugs, Friday nights, police, punk rock and just plain idiots, I think that Hotwird cover just about everything important to punk rockers today. Well, everything except politics I suppose. But who needs that when you can get the real deal pub rock n roll delivered by a great group of performers. This is probably one of the better independent punk rock releases I've heard in some time. I love the DIY nature of it too. This album is a little dated, as the band recorded and produced this about two years ago. With any luck, we'll get a new album soon. In the meantime, this album's nine tracks have got some great standouts... The first track, "Domestos And Drugs", it's all of two minutes long, but it stomps and tears right on through and is a great driving fast song. I have no idea what the hell Domestos means, but it sure is fun shouting it out at 100 miles an hour! Another fast rocking trak, that is full of some killer guitar work is "Mr. Know It All". Featuring the guitar work I mentioned, but also some fast paced drummin' and a great sing along chorus, the track is just a blast to rock out to. That's it... Hotwired are offering up a fast paced punk rock album, that is delivered in classic punk rock fashion. For fans of fast driving and sing along street punk rock, find yourself some Hotwired and be happy! -MG

HOTWIRED.(self titled)

This 9 track cd is from a Norfolk band that sound like they are on a major label(or should be). Self released, well recorded this cd does them justice. Track 1 Domestos & Drugs, is a great punk opener, then Friday Night track 2, about getting pissed and being sick and making a fool of yourself, they do have an edge over a lot of punk bands, first of all they can play and you can understand what they sing about, they do have a very close rock edge to thier music, which shows on tracks 3 Make It Count and 4 Mr Know It All. The great guitar in track 5 Police Informer shows us all how good this band are, 6 Its Only Punk Rock what a classic song, track 7 is fast and hard and track 8 is a jumpy catchy punk tune. This band should be on a lable. They are jumpy, lively, loud, noisy, fast and Ugly (joke). Punk at it's best, seen them once they were great. Track 9 Yob finishes off the cd nicely, a song about the way they look and dress, being associated as yobs. This band need to be signed. Look for The Hotwired interview next issue.

HOTWIRED - "Make It Count"
by Anna Pirhana

It is hard to imagine punk music coming up with anything original a good 20+ years after the fact.  Bands come and go, evolving into different sounds and dying out when punks begin traveling other, more conventional roads.  Some of us have resorted to expecting the old bands that stiill tour like The Damned and The Buzzcocks to hand deliver the definitive punk sound.  There is hope, however, in the form of Hot Wireds "Make It Count" CD, which breathes life into punk by simply delivering the sort of sound that has defined this genre. All the cuts on this CD delivers the bands enthusiasm, packaging into their music with all the passion and excitement of a live show that most bands seem to lose in the studio.  While the band relies mostly upon a basic, gritty sound, "Make It Count," the CDs title cut, starts with a few riffs that explode into something more complex and driving with clever changes in rhythm.  "Its Only Punk Rock" is an honest, comedic look at punk rock, making no bones that "...were only punk rock, were out to shock..."  While this may be true for the millions of fledging punk bands out there, Hot Wired does it better than most.

"Hot Wired, Live at the Reef Club"

Hot Wireds live CD, recorded on May 3, 2005, captures the essence of the bands live show, although it is obscured by less than perfect sound quality.  Dales vocals are lost behind the drums, but "Live at the Reef Club" should not disappoint in its delivery

We made it into the top six heres a review.

Punk at it's finest. Took me back to the good old days of glue and gobbing down at the sadly missed Roxy club way back in the 'orrible '70's. Superb songs, especially 'Domestos And Drugs' and 'Yob' plus the fact that they've got an awesome image. Gonna go far. THE DOGS TESTIS!!!!

Review by Krusher.
Krusher is famous for his rock radio shows, working on Kerrang magazine, designing album covers for the likes of Black Sabbath, fighting with Sharon while MC'ing Ozzfest and of course his own tv shows in the 80s, what Krusher doesn't know about rock probably isn't worth knowning.

Friday night we made our way to Stockport, Thatched House for Gold Blade and The Hangmen

Many thanks to Lisa and Banjo for putting us up!

It was a fantastic night, it is summer again, the Thatched House is a great venue and the bands were class. It was pretty crowdie and I was bouncing between the merchandise stall and the pub garden most of the night. God how have I missed sitting outside a venue, having a chat with people, pint in one hand, fag in the other and just listen to a life band at the same time!

Support was The Kings of the Delmar - a great performance and I ended up buying there CD, so there you go!

Next was Hot Wired, never heard them live before and really enjoyed their gig! And it was a great one too! Thanks for the CD guys and also the picks of me and Gold blade!

The Hangmen delivered a great show once again after problems with the bass amp could be sorted out! And as usual, Steve looked like he was practising his choreography in front of the mirror! Brilliant performer, don't we love him? NO, we fucking hate him, bastard! Steve's double bass makes people wonder as it is an unusual 1/2 size. The reason for this is Steve feels like he is molesting a little child which made the decision for a 1/2 double bass dead easy! The Original Sinner - And again, he has been playing double bass for only 6 months! Give yourself a big pat on the back! BASTARD!

Watching Jamie playing the drums always makes you think you are watching a video in fast forward. Well, Hell Burns I guess that's why he wants to get away as fast as he possibly can.

For the guitar strangling it's just that Loz has invented this term of phrase by the looks of it! A great stage show and to be watched again and again and again. It's like a pleasant punishment!

As for Goldblade the whole place was rocking from minute 1. The energy was flowing and half the crowd joined the band on stage! Very 80s Punk Rock'n Roll. I liiike! Goldblade is now touring in Holland and I hope they have a great time there!

Well gigs over, that was not it, we had a massive pool session until 5 in the morning. Thanks to my double partner Ged we won nearly every game! -Yay! I'm still recovering now! But it was worth the effort, we had a splendid time down South ;-)
