Resident KilkennyMusic.com photographer, Ross Costigan, has recently launched his own website containing loads of photos from gigs over the last year including one of our stops in The Elbow Room (The Pumphouse) in Kilkenny back in February. The good news is that you can now check out some of those photos here or go visit Ross's site directly. Love The Happy Medium

Medium lovers and fans alike are asked where we are? Well, of late weve been tucked away in a very small room, akin to a green-painted sauna, as we unleash a wealth of new material which has added a most exciting and creative element to our tracks. Were on a break from the recording for another week or two, feverishly writing and developing said new material with each and every get together. Well be looking at a local gig or two in Kilkenny in the not too distant and warm future and may well release another sample of our secret works to those who crave them.
If youve got a chance to check out Carlos De Nicaragua Y Familia, which we (as the band) did over the June bank holiday weekend, then please please please do go and see this man. A true musical inspiration for the masses.
Hope youre enjoying your Medium summer
Love The Happy Medium.

So its been a site containing 3 articles since back when we set things up in February but I think its safe to say the site is live with our brand new design and layout. Enjoy the Fairground demo that starts when you enter the site, feel free to tell all your friends and enemies (no pun intended), spread the word and the love. Cheers to everyone who stopped in again at the Guggenheim gig for the acoustic set, well be back soon enough with more new material than you can shake a stick at, and maybe get some hussle on the cd! We couldnt be so patient any longer so we decided to upload a demo of the song to see what people think. It was recorded in various houses and workshops over the last few months as we've been pretty busy in other endevours we hadnt got around to properly mixing and mastering it. We hope you like it as it is for the moment. Also the style of the music is blending more of some reggae rhythms in our new material which we are getting pretty excited about. Not too much, but just enough.
Also a shout out to The Guggenheim Grotto and their excellent performance on Saturday night, and well done to Ken & Brad for a beautiful set like the old days. Hopefully we'll have the full band the next time.

Its great to hear how music and sound progresses and fills outs, so was the case with our latest recording session - a marathon 6 hour session last night taking us to 1:30am which wrapped up the second of the tracks on the EP. Main focus last night was on getting the vocals down, along with Brads original guitar track.
Of course, as the night goes on you tend to get a bit more adventurous and so the layers started to build, leaving us with a massive sound which all four of us are quite happy with! No words or hints as to what the track might be, though youre entitled to guess to your hearts content!
Two down, a few more to go :)

Hey folks,
Just a quick note to say that work is progressing on our upcoming EP as we aim for a May launch. The EP is being co-produced by Mr. Dawson & myself with Daw working a lot of his magic on the sound - which, if I may say so myself, its pretty damn good so far. Were not letting slip the tracklist for the EP but I think people will be pretty happy with the material when its released.
Well be following it up with a nice tour to match and of course well be appearing again between now and the launch.
Were also working behind the scenes on developing the Medium Site. Be sure and let us know what you think as regards the site, or if theres a special track youd love to hear on the EP! This could be your chance errr. yeah thats it! There will be news on KilkennyMusic.com as well through the forums there.
Take it easy,
K

The gig is in association with KilkennyMusic.com and Coma Girl Promotions with the night getting started around 9:30pm. Weve got local singer/songwrited Kieran Byrne performing some original music before The Silhouettes play their first gig of 2006 while well be on around the 10:45 mark or there abouts. Were really looking forward to the gig and tryign the new venue, hoping to see you there! Cheers, Ken

Great gig last night in Cleere's in Kilkenny with Ilya K, cheers to the lads for having us on the night. Great reception to the new material that we played, more so the last track of the night that had all our bunch up singing and dancing (as the song goes...).
More gigs to be announced soon.
