Hello Hullo! Well, the nights are drawing in and Christmas is just under a month away! And that means it is almost time for the 2009 INLIGHT Advent Calendar!

As a thank you for all your support this year, Charlie, Mike, Pete and Johnny will be uploading a new video to inlightband.com every single day from December 1 until Christmas Eve. The videos will be full of festive cheer and early Christmas presents, free ringtones and giveaway EPs, a sneak peek inside the band's sessions in the recording studio, interviews with each band member and much more!

There will be special surprises for members of the mailing list so if you haven't signed up yet, make sure you do so sharpish!

Until December 1st,

Charlie, Mike, Pete & Johnny

It must appear from outside the walls of Inlighton as if all is quiet within. To the uninitiated, the last week has featured nil but a cancelled acoustic show, and little of note has been reported bar Tom Robinson’s praise for ‘Space’, which he played on BBC Introducing last week and described as ‘tasty’ and ‘atmospheric’ (adjectives usually reserved for Johnny). One could almost forgive you for thinking that Charlie, Mike, Pete & Johnny had scarpered to the Caribbean, or finally embarked upon the long-threatened Electro-DeathMetal project.

Fear not, though. We have neither deserted you in the darkness of space, nor (now that the nights are cold and long) are we likely to. Although the western front has been lacking in the decibel department, we have been working away in our bunker. The ongoing epic that is the production of ‘Disappear‘ has continued apace at SAE, and should be all over by Christmas. Charlie popped in on Friday, chased all the way to the studio gates by a cold, and added some final vocals. And he has subsequently been wrapped up in wires and retro-futuristic equipment adding a recorded version of the beepy live intro to the track.

Meanwhile, Mike has proved his reputation as a man about Guitartown. Only weeks after being seen in the late bars with an Epiphone Casino, he was spotted at home with a brand new Fender Jazzmaster. Some men just want it all. Rumours that the pink Telecaster and infamous 335 have been spotted with a good divorce lawyer are categorically untrue. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet!

Hello and good evening to you all!

Time to head over to the brand new, starched and shiny INLIGHT website! We’ve been pretty hectic in the last few weeks, busying ourselves behind the scenes; writing, recording, playing and posing. We’ve played in the strangest room in which a show has ever been held, and did a show for Children In Need. We’ve been in the studio recording live favourite ‘Disappear‘. We’ve been working on new songs ‘Spotlights’and ‘Who Will Save Me Now?‘. The ‘crop circles’ you may have noticed are here to stay, and with any luck they’ll prove to be a good omen! So, although we haven’t been dancing from the rooftops, four noses have been very much to the same grindstone.

And with that, we’ll leave you to enjoy the new site. Don’t forget to join the mailing list if you haven’t already [look on the right hand side of the site], and same with Twitter. And let your friends know about the site. All of them. Stop people in the street and tell them. Send them links, buy them our CDs, show them our videos, even sing them out songs! It’s all good.

We’ll see you soon!

Mike (and sort of.. Charlie, Pete & Johnny!)

Current mood:  fermented
Well, you've probably all noticed a few changes to the MySpace and Twitter and so on. As if by magic strange, round shapes have started popping up at the back of our pages. At first we were convinced they were a punishment from on high for a lack of recent blogs and mailers (although Johnny insisted they were the world's first virtual crop circles), but a little more research has revealed that they are all part of our web redesign; tomorrow evening our brand new website will be up and running at http://www.inlightband.com. IN the meantime, if you don't already follow us on Twitter, then make sure you remedy that sharpish, and -- as Stephen Hawking once said to a telescope -- watch this space..

P.S. I have just chosen a 'current mood' for this blog. What *can* 'fermented' mean? Answers on a postcard..

Hugest apologies to all those waiting with baited breath for our new website. Our designer has had swine flu, of all things, so the final polish is just not quite there yet.

We'll keep you posted and we'll have news here as soon as it is ready!

Keep healthy until then, and we'll try and do the same,
Inlight

First, A big thank you to everyone who came out to all our shows earlier in the summer. Cornbury was a particular highlight, and it was great to see so many new faces in the crowd.

Next up is to anounce our 'comeback' show (comeback, you say? we've only been away a month..!). We'll be playing the Jericho Tavern on 3rd September with Family Machine, Hella Cholla and Alphabet Backwards (playing an extra special acoustic set).

As an extra bonus advance ticket buyers can vote for a cover version to be played on the night. Tickets are only £2 from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/55578

As an extra-super-bonus, we'll have some new songs of our own, regardless of these newfangled voting shenanigans- the fruits of our recent hard work in the studio.

Of course, if you can't make it on the 3rd, we'll probably play them again soon, if you're all extra-good.

See you in September!

We were on the BBC yesterday! A big thank you to Tom Robinson who played Icarus on his 6music show last night.  You can listen again by going HERE and clicking 'listening again' to Sunday's show before 21st June.

In other news, we're playing the O2 Academy Oxford again tonight, supporting Absent Elk (who have just finisihed a tour with Girls Aloud, no less)  If you need to clear away those monday morning/afternoon blues, there's no better way than coming to see a night of great music. And if you're too hot in the sun, the O2 IS air-conditioned...
Tickets are £5 and the doors open at 7.

See you there!

It's Tuesday, and this means it's the Inlight headline charity fundraising show at The Cellar, here in Oxford. Joining us will be Beck Lanehart and Quadrophobe, both of which were also JackFM Next Big Thing finalists last month. There will be DJs until late, so if you're looking for an all-round night out, then look no further! And if you're not, then come see us anyway! Tickets are £6 on the door, and are still available for £5 online here. This is a hugely important and good cause, so if you're 50/50 then make sure you get down. Bring friends, Romans, countrymen.. lend us your ears.. Doors open 8pm!

The Cellar is at Frewin Court in the centre of town. Here is a map.
