It was fantastic to support the Wailers last Monday,

I feel blessed to have been asked especially as I had just seen them perform in St Maarten, completely unaware that when I got home I would find out that we would be playing with them!

It was an honour to play with a band whos music has had such an impact on my life and in musical history.

Music that has brought peoples together and evoked consciousness.

Music that is powerful and humanitarian.

I cant think of an artist that has had more success globally than Bob Marley and the wailers, and all over the world his music plays everywhere..

His music and message is as prevalent today as ever and his legacy lives on through his music being enjoyed by new generations, and kept alive by his children, his family, his listeners and his remaining band members such as Aston 'Family man' Barrett who is still touring.

Big thanks to my band the jacuzzis

Much Love Jewels

Firstly, I hope you have had a positive start to the year and that this year brings you much love and happiness in all you do, and with strength, guidence and protection your thoughts turn to dreams and your dreams become reality and your reality is your Life...alive and powerfull.
January is a good time to get some new energy and sometimes I feel a little blue so I wanted to start my year in one of my favorite places, my heart's home.. St Maarten.

It is a little Island only 35 square miles, It is a vibrant and musical place and is very mixed culturally and very relaxed and friendly with it.
it is developing fast though which has its good and its bad.
I hope that the Islands natural beauty is not completely destroyed. The good is that from the money from tourism there are developments in place to help the schools and provide more centres for the children to do arts, sports and music.

The Native St Maarten people are some of the friendliest people I have ever met.

I did go to do some shows but also to relax and meditate and soak up some inspiration. i did;nt want to plan so much as some of the best things happen when you can just go with the flow....

So here I am back in the cold...Ouch! Just recovering from all the beautiful experiences, the vibrant colours, the smiling faces, the fast beats of calipso that make me want to jump around for hours to the slow sensual rhythms of zouk,. So much did happen while i was there, so much i did see, and only a bit I captured with a camera but at least I can share a little with you.,
and the pics go out to all the wonderful people I met.
Thank-..-you .

Thanks to Tonca for welcoming me to his studio, Melvin and the Explosions band - Fred, Alex Bigbassman, Connis, Squakers, Johnno in Anguila, Zee and the Blend band, Fatts, Jabba, Estelle, Kallie, Jacob, Bob and friend, Reality, Richard, Allan the photographer, Womba, Freddy 'Fin', Kya and the Roots foundation band, Paps, Percy Rankin band, Asa, Guy, Cadillac, Axel, Kat, Junior, Alex, Jill and Bernard, Simple D *(what a voice!), and last but definately not least Jose and my girls, Holly and Mikki,

Current mood:  nostalgic
OK, so I think it s about time I got with the programme and got myself a little Camcorder or something so I can get down with the whole filming oneself thing and make I self a little Doc-mementory!. Im a bit shy when it comes to things like that but it looks like fun and at the very least I can do some filming of my favorite things then post it, then thereafter it shall remain documented for life and beyond and I wont ever have to worry about forgetting it.
I was just thinking about all the things that I get inspired by and one of them is definitely finding a little time to look at all the peoples myspace pages from all over the world, and looking into their world for a moment and seeing their life, their spirit, their creation and their footprint in this world. (And im not talking about the Carbon one either,

JUst got back recently from doin some shows with the Mighty Mad Professor. Its always an honour to perform with him and WAs real nice to meet some more of the crew too - Sista Zakeyah and the multi talented Black Steel. What a treat! oH Greece was nice too!
The first stop was a place called thassenollica. A great undercurrent of a scene and nice venue but I will always remember how nice the people were. They really took the time out to look after us. iF Your reading Thassenollica crew..bIg THANKS and LOve to ya. I remember we were feelin a bit tired from the plane, but soon as we got on the stage we felt the Greek FIYA Blazing and turned a two hour set into a four hour one!

Next STop was over to Athens. This was an amaZING experience as I hav'nt been here since I was knee high and have all these memories of the ancient Acropolis and this overwhelming feeling of pre christian times. Luckily we had a day off b4 our next show so me and the princess Zakeyah decided to try and find it and hav a look.
WWOOW its just as I remembered it accept that I remember the walk up to it going on forever and its actually only takes about ten minutes! I must have had little legs. As we got closer we noticed the only statues still standing keeping everything together was the goddesses (which made us giggle as it did'nt surprise us one bit!)
As i walked around I could see the Gods and goddesses were all crowned with locks. It was peaceful and serene yet powerful and the ancient amphitheatre I remember as derelict ruins is now a functioning open air venue.
We finished the day by eating some nice greek food before heading back to the hotel.

Next day we had a chill time before heading to our next venue... Athens Olympicia football stadium. I will never forget how it made me feel being on that big stage in sound check and looking out over the massive space and hearing pure thumping dub rythms! Not only that but some of the dub i've grown up listening to. It reminded me of the first time I heard dub on a sound system..Wah!
Professor was on top form dubbing everything live to the max, Zakeyah a true warrior princess and Steele a true pro, his melodica authentic and haunting. The show was awesome, the crowd brilliant and I think I truly lost myself in the music. The spirit was in me and I was in the spirit. We were all one and thats what I love bout music.
