'TOMORROW IN A YEAR'

'GRAFTON PRIMARY'
http://www.myspace.com/graftonprimary

Every journey in life is characterised by the distance you travel as an individual; both physically & spiritually. You do not leave home merely to see the world, you do so to see who you are in the world.
To a large extent, however, you must accept how little you know of yourself in order to be willing to travel. He or she who 'knows it all' spends a lot of time in the one place.
Most people have no idea how they will react to new situations. For some this engenders a state of fear, and for others, a state of excitement. Being excited about change means you accept change within yourself. Being afraid of change suggests you are having difficulty accepting your own changes.
In all things, the inner pattern reflects the outer pattern; the outer pattern, the inner.
When considering the journeys others have made, please keep in mind that ultimately, each one is personal, and the purpose of leaving home is to feel more at home within yourself.

happy 2007 lovers & fighters!
some dishes take many moons to prepare.
grafton primary has been simmering over the past few months, as vital ingredients were added, but now we are getting rather hungry.
how about the rest of you?
there are upcoming shows, and more to be added. we are looking at having an EP ready for release in the next 2-4 weeks.
there have been changes of residence, changes of perception, and crazy new musical ideas that we can't wait to unleash.
we can't wait to get back on stage - away from the seductive lure of the studio - where creative souls can lose themselves in layers of sound and meaning.
summer is well and truly here.
time to be sociable.

there are exciting things on the loose, and i didn't leave the gate open, ok?
actually, that's a lie, i did leave the gate open, but only so everyone can have the opportunity to observe some of these exciting things in their natural habitat - life.
notice i don't say 'catch', because trying to catch destiny is like trying to catch the wind.
we are starting work on a club show, so that we can inflitrate late-night venues with minimal carry-on luggage, and more importantly, showcase a whole lot of top-secret GP material. live synths, vocals & original beats & sounds. doesn't that sound fun?
keep in mind we are not going to play records, we are going to break them. so if you have any particularly bad crooners, feel free to bring them down for the ritual destruction. better still, if you know anyone who can recycle vinyl in a useful way (say, to make black velvet catsuits, or solar cells) perhaps you could figure out a way to get them elected.
thanks for listening, all those that did. and for the rest of you, there is still a place in heaven for you.
say you know grafton primary & st. peter will give you half-price entry.

It may appear as though we have disappeared, but (dis)appearances can be deceptive. So can young children, and the current US regime. Notice how neatly they fit into the same sentence.
I ask you; why be responsible when you can simply steal that vegemite sandwich?
Enough of that. Thanks to everyone who has come and said amazing things at shows. Or danced, or tapped feet, or ignored us and gone on talking, or walked past spectrum and wondered who was on that night, and then decided to spend 8 bucks on oxford street curry, and a generic lemon drink.
Thanks for being part of the fabric. We like your colours, and how you make the big picture so much more exciting. Thank god(dess) we are not all modern art - just some of us. Where would we be without venus, or ochre on cave walls?
Keep listening. Hard. And keep loving life, because it just keeps getting better. Trust me.
Better still, trust yourself. You already know this shit.
yes!

this is josh.
i have taken over this blog with my army of highly trained personas. we are so numerous, and so perfectly disguised that you may believe that we are one and the same, which we are, in fact.
but honestly; it's a weird feeling to get so much love and respect from other people, without meaning to. not that setting out to express your soul music (whatever that is, brothers and sisters) is meant to leave you lonely and despised, but there's a particular glow that comes when the highest thought and ambition in you strikes the highest thought and ambition in someone else.
on stage at the annandale the other night i had the first sensation that the energy we feel when we write music is out there in the world, already singing and dancing in people's hearts, minds and soles.
we don't care who tunes in. we don't write on commission to the royal court. fling it far & wide.
as i said...we like people who like people..
and we love people who love love.
thanks to everyone who supports us; past/present/future.
all one.

Current mood: accomplished
So I got back from a month away in France and Germany today and it has come to my attention that triple J has been giving us a good old spin fairly regularly across this great wide brown land we call Australia in my absence. This is quite fortuitous and encouraging and as a flow on effect we are starting to get some quality gigs and a few bites from some labels. On Friday 23rd we play the Annandale hotel(which if you are from Sydney you will know as a legendary venue) with some of our favourites the Midnight Juggernauts (they are also currently getting triple J airtime) and I can't quite convey in words how sick this is gonna be ;) Also notably we have a gig early July at home nightclub which is doing a new thing on Saturday nights where they have live acts on earlier in the night before the DJ's get going. Gonna be working hard to make these sets as rockin as they can be and also have a bloody good time ourselves!! Hope that some of our friends of Myspace can make it along to any of these, would be well wicked
peace Ben
