The studio is running and so is Van. He's running to the microwave emitter and then to the stardrive control panel. Now he's replicating some food and editing the band's new video for "Give".
I'm having a good time on the intergalactic web gaming with aliens from another galaxy I've never heard of before.
These guys are amazing because they have 16 arms and can use 8 different joysticks at the same time. They're awesome!
This is intergalactic star captain Mark Taylor-Canfield reporting from up in the space needle.

The Trouble With Robots, A Galaxy Machine Story By MTC
The Galaxy Machine crew are back from inter-dimensional and interstellar adventures to gear up for our forthcoming full-length CD and live performances in the spring. Look for us flying through the stratosphere above your town in May.
A Galaxy Machine Short Story About A Man And His Robot
Recently I experienced a malfunction with my robot which kept attacking the wall at my spaceport lounge.
I was having an Alpha Seti cocktail with some friends from the intergalactic party crew when I noticed the robot's bad behavior. It was supposed to be serving us more drinks but somehting went wrong. The fair-haired queen of Atabexita was standing there in a glorious dress made of nanobot ether silk retreived from a trading mission to the seventh dimension. The fabric glowed and morphed in front of our eyes, swirling about like a fluid shimmering pool of light. It changed into a thousand different subtle colors meshing and dancing like a snake.
First her attire took the form of a ball gown, the next it bacame a short mini-skirt, and then it changed to a toga - all in the space of 30 seconds. While I was admiring this beautiful spectacle, I couldn't help but see the robot across the room banging repeatedly into the wall. Despite the gorgeous queen nad her fascinating entourage, I felt I had better address the situation.
I thought that maybe the robot was just having a bad day, but I've been very attentive and talk to my robot even when its powered down for the night, so I couldn't understand how its programming could get so out of phase. I thought it was a relatively happy machine.
After banging against the wall a few hundred times, something clicked and the robot suddenly changed it's programming in a very AI manner. It drew back from the wall.
The robot stopped as if to assess the situation and then it reared back, got a running start, and tried to climb up the wall!
Since it was at that time in a track mode set up, the tank-like treads actually made it a few inches up the wall before it fell backwards, slamming its poor head against the floor.
The Queen of Atabexita and the partygoers all began to enjoy the comedy of errors and clapped in support of the robot's electronic fit of insanity.
It lay there on the floor without moving. For a minute I feared for the worst until a little LED light starting blinking irregularly on its chest. A strange grinding sound could be heard inside its head as the gyro and servo-mechanism tried to reassert some sort of balance. I assume it was "seeing stars" at that moment; its "bell had been rung".
Slowly it tried to right itself but was unable to after several ill-fated attempts. I think a gear was misaligned because its movements seemed limited.
At that point it became obvious that human intervention was necessary, so I walked over and helped it to an upright position. All of its lights came on simultaneously, the lasers on its chest began to spin around and the eyes lit up brightly.
The robot turned its head from side to side, as if looking around to see where it was. It backed up and then forward a few times, then a buzzing sound came out of its mouth as if it were trying to tell me something. Unfortunately, none of it what it said made any sense.
It said,
"What am going have send tetrahedral composite iron deposits on top of space noodle."
I asked for a clarification. It replied,
"Many doodle fix plastic wafer submarines."
"Wow, I said, you really need to reboot. I can't understand a thing you are telling me."
The robot then twirled around twice and ran into the wall again. I tried to catch it between collisions but it was too fast so I ran for the manual remote control. I tried to turn is power off but it was jamming my control unit somehow so I was unable to accomplish that task.
As it repeatedly banged against the wall, I grabbed a pillow and shoved it in between the robot and the wall. Once it hit the pillow it stopped and made a whistling noise, then twirled around again. I reached for its power button on its back but it wouldn't stop twirling long enough for me to hit the button.
Finally, it headed for the wall again but I was able to grab its arm and turn it around. It stopped making the whistling noise and began to shake all over. I reached over and hit the power button just as its lasers started up again.
After letting it cool down and reboot, Mr. Robot (I like to call him "Robo"), seemed fine again but he movd a little slower for a while as if trying to shake off a hangover. Thank God robots don't actually drink alchohol as depicted in Matt Groenig's Futurama cartoons...
Wew! That was close... Last time Robo went crazy, it shot my keyboard full of laser holes.
Luckily, it didn't eject glue foam over everyone from the jets on its chest because that stuff dries immediately into a solid form so you are trapped in an immense pile of glue. It could have been embarrassing moment if the queen become glued to my spaceport floor. It might have sparked an intergalactic diplomatic incident. It just goes to show that you can't always trust a robot. Sometimes they just have a bad day like everyone else.

Current mood: accomplished
The GM tribe has been brought together once again by a higher calling from parts unknown where they were assuredly partying and saving beautiful cosmic damsels in distress, as usual. Rumor has it that a Planetary Party Bus visited Jupiter and Mars before taking off for the Andromeda Galaxy, but spokespersons for the band aren't commenting at this time.
The crew has assembled at the spaceport on the Space Needle to be fit for our new galactic uniforms. The design, brilliantly envisioned by Roman Villigrana, will be an artistic statement in itself. We'll be able to strut our stuff in grand style before the leaders of the universe. Wait til you see what this group has up their proverbial sleeve! Future fashions await. Soon there will be sci-fi fashion shows at our gigs where our friends will show their fantasy creations. Hold on tight to your seats because the ride will soon take you out of your domain and throw you into the stratosphere and beyond!
We are in the development stages of creating a very interesting film project. Galactic council reps would rather we keep the details to ourselves for now, but to be sure, there will be adventures galore.
Space command lieutenants Dennis Martinez and Mark Taylor-Canfield have been put on injured reserve for the time being. We hope the time being appreciates the opportunity to kick it with the boys while we recover. I'm sure we'll be trading stories of past and future glories about inter-dimensional time/space adventures.
Dennis has an injured finger, presumably caused by his continuous habit of pointing out the absurdities of life on earth. MTC suffered from an attack by cyber bees on his magic key playing hands, causing him much discomfort, but he spoke an oath and toughed it out, making it through two rehearsals.
Lots of new songs, a new full-length CD and various highly creative projects are in the works. Stay tuned to this galactic channel for late breaking developments.
This is Astralnaut Mark Taylor-Canfield reporting from Galactic Space Command Headquarters.
Ad Astra!
