Yes... if you're a singer/songwriter / acoustic-ish act based in or near Brighton and you have a little following, get in touch... I'm looking to fill the opening set at my gig at The Komedia on november 19th... It's a great little space with a good PA and listening vibe and you'll get a share of the door. Leave a comment here by 10th sept saying why it should be you!!

DJ Koze remix of the original ('Guinea Pig' by Ben Watt ft. Julia Biel) now available. It's quite something... very tense but I like it.

and so it is...
just got Earl 16's lyrics from 'reggae technology' going round my head at the moment probably because they're so apt for the moment (and also because i'm doing a gig with him tonight at Hootenanny in Brixton with the SOOTHSAYERS and we're doing that song of his - come if you're in the vicinity, it's gonna be great, as always with that band ;) )
anyway i digress - thing is i have finally got my debut album 'Not Alone' available to buy as a download!! (don't ask why it took so long, ok? let's not go there right now) so yeah, it's a grand opening kinda moment, smashing the champagne bottle against the ship kinda moment, it's a maiden voyage departing from www.artonearth.com.
little album go well!

ha ha not in that way...
what it is is next month at Cafe Koha i'll be doing my regular monthly night on 22nd april and right now i have no opening act. having had a fair few lovely ladies share the stage with me in recent months (and months to come), i feel the need to redress the gender balance so am looking for a man - (in the interests of equal opportunities you understand girls)...
so this is an invitation to all you male singer/songwriters with an established following who write and perform their own material to get in touch if you'd like a lovely intimate gig in a central london venue, somewhere where you get to play for 30-45mins and get a slice of the door. stylistically i'm into things with a strong lyrical identity and musically something a bit different, something that maybe unifies influences in a way we're not all really used to... y'know.
if you can do the business, or you wanna point me in the direction of a worthy candidate, get in touch - got to decide by end of next week so don't leave it too late!

the world of tech house is not one i've been involved with before i have to say but when ben watt (he of Everything But the Girl fame) sent me a track to see if i could come up with anything for it, the song "Guinea Pig" was born...
his dark and broody groove inspired some melancholic melodies in the middle of the night, and amazingly those scratch vocals made the final mix. a marriage of ben's words and my melodies, any tech-heads out there can get a hold of "Guinea Pig" now, see www.buzzinfly.com for more details and to listen.
lemme know what you think of it. i think i might have to go back to bed now, i'm sleepy...

POLAR BEAR, seb's band have a new album out, it's called POLAR BEAR.
in the early days, seb made me dress up in one of my many woolly, slightly 'fake sheep' looking coats for a photo op for a flyer of his, (i don't think i looked much like a polar bear to be honest but he seemed to like it). now i am honoured to be singing his songs - 'sunshine' is on the new album and i got to sing it! it's dark and lovely all at once, which i like v much
check it out, i mean, buy it.

My monthly series of double bills, where me and my band share the stage with a different guest act each time, will be kicking off in style with a double bill with the wonderful MIRANDA BARBER.
With her intelligent lyrics, where serious, funny and heartfelt collide to wonderful effect, Miranda has a very unique way with song and a voice and melodies to match.
Effortlessly combining a bluesy/jazzy heartland with a distinct cabaret consciousness (in kind of a Tom Waits way - but with a voice like a huskier Joni Mitchell...), she conjures up tales from behind a piano that'll have you giggling one minute and your heart on the floor the next.
Probably playing songs from her recent SlicethePie.com funded album release "Lips' Decision" and possibly also drawing on her extensive back catalogue too, Miranda's self-contained vocal and piano line-up will be augmented with cello, guitar and backing vocals.
Can't wait!

some peops have asked and sadly The Terrorbull Twins who filmed and produced the video posted on my page are no longer making videos... BUT you can see some cult examples of their work set to the music of The New Telepathics. this is no coincidence as the Terrorbull Twins are actually the bass player and the driving force/singer behind said band.
having warbled vaguely over some of The New Telepathics' earliest gigs, it's with some strange sense of pride that i tell you what a bloody good band these guys are. check them out on Youtube for the videos or for a blisteringly delivered live studio session see http://www.redbullstudio.co.nz and look for them under 'live sessions'.
