We changed locations today and started recording in Muddais. My amp suddenly broke down, and Hans & I spent most of the day trying to find the right kind of fuse, and after finding one in the local store we discovered that there is something wrong with my amp, since the fuses keep blowing. Thanks to Kalle & Axel/TVLU for letting me borrow the AC 30.
Nevertheless, we got to work and recorded some electric and acoustic guitar parts & Hans did some editing. I also managed to sing two songs despite a sore throat: (Everybody's Got a) Hungry Vampire Heart + the NY song. We think they turned out pretty good, but we're going to listen with fresh ears later. Tomorrow more singing, but now I'm beat.

Today Valtteri rode in on a broomstick and decorated the studio with feathers and plastic eggs. He also made us Jacques Cousteau- style hats. They helped us through the problem songs. After four days in the studio we now have the basic tracks for 12 songs now, which is great. Some working titles:
The King is Dead 23 Signs (Everybody's Got A) Hungry Vampire Heart Let It Slide I Am Poor = The World Belongs To Me Fire into The Woods 12 Hundred Stories
Early morning tomorrow. We're going to record the broom and the toy piano. Valtteri is probably going to show up in a bunny costume (or chicken). We'll let you know.
Bye for now,
/Robin

We start in less than 48 hours. It’s been almost a year and a half since I joined Agent Kooper. All we have worked for over the last 18 months seems to point to the next three weeks. From our first months experimenting, to creating our first EP together, through many gigs big, small, and on boats, it is thrilling to finally begin this process of recording Agent Kooper’s second LP (that’s a long-play, full-length album in case you were wondering).
This whole process of creating the songs for this album has felt like a puzzle that we’ve only barely managed to keep from scattering. Pieces placed close enough together that hopefully, over the next three weeks, we will be able to put together in order to create a complete picture. This album is meant to have a unified presentation, and we hope to achieve that as best we can. It is this process of putting the pieces together that is the greatest challenge. If that seems too verbose or romantic, then maybe it's best to stop reading now. We're in this to make something and if we want to succeed surely we can't hold back in any way.
The snow has returned once more to Turku/Åbo/Turku following in Spring’s footsteps. It goes without saying that a white vernal equinox was a new experience for me. But with fresh snow comes a blank slate. The city is covered with a soft whiteness that never fails to shock me. I couldn’t help but think of the fragile nature of a late March snow cover. It’s bound to be gone soon and if you plan to take advantage of it, you’d better act quickly.
I hope you will check in with us occasionally and see how the process is going. Whether these posts are in English, Finnish, Swedish or all three (that’d be on Robin anyway), we plan to keep you as informed as possible. The whole bit is as exciting as it is nerve-racking. We’ve got one chance to make this album as we want it. The songs are there in our minds. Now all we can do is hope the pieces fit together. The picture on the box shows only a blank, white slate.
/Jake

Hello everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has been listening to our songs these past few days. It took us awhile before we understood why so many people suddenly listened to our songs and why we got so many friend requests from Germany. We are currently one of the artists of the week on myspace in Germany.
We are really excited by the German release of our album and the upcoming tours in Germany. The dates are currently being set up, if you have any specific cities/venues you would like to see us just send us a message and we'll to what our booking agency can do about it.
Our debut album comes out in a couple of weeks in Germany through Rough Trade and you can already pre-order it from Amazon.de. You can also ask your local record shop to order you a copy of it in case they don't have it.

Thanks again for listening and we hope to you very soon.
By the way, it seems like there will be another single out in Germany in February, but more on that later.
