I know I said we wouldn't be posting much here any more but we need to get the word out as quick as possible.
For that past few years we at the Village have been showing Battlestar Galactica commercial free. Unfortunately, during the final episode ever(!) we lost our signal. We are unsure if some someone just fraked our FTL drive or this was part of a greater conspiracy. Luckily we rebooted our toasters and we are going to show the finale again for the first time.
We are going all out this time with all sorts of surprises we can't mention at the moment! We will also be showing all parts of Daybreak including the previous 1 hour episode and the final 2 hour finale. We will also start the showing earlier than normal at 11:45pm instead of midnight.
This is a limited engagement for those of you who were on the losing end last week. If you would like to join us please email AlamoBSG@gmail.com and if you can forward a copy of your receipt from last week so we can confirm that you were here. This is free to all those who purchased vouchers and were unable to see the finale.
Do not reply to this blog entry because I'm not sure if we will get it in time. Please email by Friday 3/27 at 10am after that we will be opening up a small number of tickets for the general public. Please get your names ASAP!

For those of you curious, Steve was unable to break the record last night. He posted a score of 695000 and change. He played for a little over 2 hours. Probably tomorrow I will post a complete wrap up of the tournament, but for now remember "never underestimate the power of the t-shirt karma".

Steve Wiebe has decided to make another world record attempt. First here is a photo of Steve with our 2 high scorers. And now Walter Day works on validating the game board. And Steve and Walter both verify the board on camera.

Gilbert Hernandez is the winner and champion! After a lackluster final qualification round, no other competitors have been entered into the competition. For the fun of it, Gilbert and John (the only 2 to break 100000) went head to head. Gilbert posted a score of 252700!!!

At 8:00 we have Ryan "fubarduck" Harvey. Ryan might be one of our first true "ringers" as he is the top Street Fighter player in the world. He just got back from Japan from a tournament and is an actual competitive gamer. after an impressive 98900 score without dying during his practice session we all had high hopes...unfortunately in his actual run, Ryan was only able to post 27200.

At 7:00 we have our 7th competitor, Long Le. Long is not true Donkey Kong player, but more of a DK junior player. His parents own a laundrymat and DK Jr. was probably the first game he ever played. Long posted a score of 32300 low but better than the average player.
