28th November 2009 // Leigh de Vries LIVE @ The Playground, 93 Feet East London

Leigh de Vries latest track 'Walk Alone' is in the finals for 2 separate categories in the Peoples Music Awards - Best Female Solo Artist and Best Dance Track.

Don't expect nice jaunty melodies from Leigh de Vries and her neatly crafted industrial monster.

'Walk Alone', which is written and produced by Leigh de Vries, is a dark and broody beast which rips the best bits out of Gary Numan and NIN before kicking the carcasses into touch and building a new Frankenstein.

The Sheffield lass sings in a monotone baritone style which has an ominous quality likely to give even the hardiest of souls a touch of the heebie-jeebies, but everyone needs a good fright once in a while.

A dark, moody escape from the harsh gritty grips of reality - 'Walk Alone' is written, produced and sung by Leigh de Vries.

The track is a taste tester from her upcoming album 'The Machine' due for release at the end of 2009.

LEIGH DE VRIES

A rising star on the UK electro scene, Leigh de Vries' irresistible combination of pulsing electronics and cool, detached vocals remains head and shoulders above most. ‘SoRight' is neat manifesto for Leigh's whole aesthetic.

Leigh de Vries has just released her first solo project, writing and producing the track "BEATITOFF" for the very provocative New York Artist Fernando Carpaneda.

http://videos.emule.com/videos/fernandocarpaneda/

Fernando Carpaneda is an artist born in Brasília, Brazil. He works with clay sculptures. His main theme is always the human being. He watches people in the streets, bars, concerts, and places where people sell their bodies. Fernando makes portraits of rent boys, punks, junkies, thieves and outcasts. Instead of attaching himself to muses, he focuses on male nudes to compose his art pieces, having the human being, the masculine, as the main goal in his work. All his portraits are like a relic, a holy place, a moment caught in time.
