I'm glad that they finally added bulletins to the home page for bands. Before, band pages had to click a link to see bulletins. Now, I see all the bulletins.

Why am I blogging about bulletins?

Well, sometimes - I think it's fun to reply to them. I have a lot of friends (not bragging) so there is a LOT of bulletins to sift through. So, every day or 2, I will pick a bulletin and reply to it. It's kind of fun being random like that.

Sure... sure - you can say that the movies butcher the books, but come on... even *I* was drooling when Voldie was wearing the suit at the train station.

Now - it will long be a contention between book fans and the movies. They have to pack so much stuff into a "hollywood" package. To me, the movie was short, by about 1/2 an hour. Had it been a 2 hour and 45 minute movie... like say the pirate movie... maybe they could have explored some more situations. I DO feel the movie was a bit rushed, pace wise... but again, had an extra half an hour been tacked on... they could have covered it.

I am in NO WAY upset with the film. I have enjoyed EACH AND EVERY film so far.

No - on to the Deathly Hallows this weekend.

WHOOOOTS!

Also, something in the movie has inspired a song title...

soon... you will know.

Well, I am a little nervous about this one... as it has been a looong ass time since I posted a new song over here. Been making a lot of DJ Bentelli stuff lately. I find it easier... as not many people are friends with those accounts. I can make a song and not worry about a lot of people actually listening to it. Sounds odd, but to me - music is VERY personal. I'm also a little frustrated - as I wasn't able to get the specific sound I wanted from the melody line... but if you know me... when I feel something is done, it's done.

Anyway -

From his Ashes - a song about rebirth - it's about Fawkes. I had originally started calling it "Behind the Veil"... but it didn't feel dark enough.

100 points to whoever names the sample!!!

90 percent of the sounds you hear were given to me by Dobby. Back when there was only Number 12 Grimmauld Place and J.E. Mc Gryff... had taken ill... all I had were these nice little disks of samples that Dobby sent via post owl. They helped me start up a new idea. I made a little song that was one part a joke (and rather crappy sounding) and was one part an homage to one of the most influential bands in my life - The Art of Noise. That song was Peter "Gunn" Pettigrew.

Well, I took this new idea and named it Dumbledork... after a shirt I saw (and then bought) on the Snorg Tee's website. Then, I figured I couldn't intentionally try to make crappy songs... so I took older ideas from other projects (please refer to Coma Boy's page and click the link on it that says he/I do music) and mixed in these new samples that I had. From there - you have Pensieve Trippin'.

Over a year has passed now...

Wiz Rock has taken this crazy turn for popularity. I have met a lot of great people through Wrock and have had a lot of fun trying to make music that I would listen to - in hopes of having others like it - but not worrying too much about it... as *I* like it. No - really... I'm listening to "Transfigurations" as I type.

Anyway - if you have been paying attention... you know that my main creation drive has bit the dust. I *AM* going to send it off for recovery... but that may take some time. So, I was feeling pretty bummed... as I just lost 8 years worth of MP3 collecting AND all the songs I have made / were working on.

Well, I was cleaning the house and I found another set of disks that I hadn't installed. They are MAC formatted and would not read on my PC... so I took them to one of the guys at work. He was so excited about getting to keep them when he was finished burning them to a disk that my PC could read... me - I was just happy to have some beats back.

So, Dobby - thank you a million fold fer being a contributing factor to my existence and thanks again for making me happy all over again. You ARE the man and you will always be my HERO (although - that DJ Frane fella is a damn good dude and I am LOVING HIS STUFF!!! - in fact, go friend DJ Frane and tell him ol' Dumble D sent ya).

Dobby - love ya like some crazy elfin brutha!

You know that I lost my music creation hard drive... well that don't stop the headmaster... NO SIR!!!

I have some stuff back (not from the old drive... this is new... WINK!) and I am able to create again. YAY! I am still not up to full speed yet... as I only have headphones and no external sound right now... but that darn music beast is still screaming in my head.

Anyway - one of my BAZILLION projects (I drink a lotta polyjuice potion...) has made a new mash-up. Come on over and check it out. I'm kind of happy with it.

DJ Bentelli Mixes

The song's called Homosapien Scum. 50 points to the first person to tell me the 2 songs mashed. 1000 points for finding the secret sample at the beginning!!!

Go my students - and thanks for your continuing support!

Sad dark days have befallen your humble headmaster.

My main MP3 and music creation hard drive has crashed. It may cost upwards of 400 dollars to get it all back. Every Dumbledork song created or "in the works" was on that drive. 80+ Gb...

PRAY FOR THE HEADMASTER!

Ok everybody... in the tradition of copier art punk rock flyers... etc... I bring you - THE DIY STICKER PACK!!!

You, too, can make your very own Dumbledork stickers and paste them on just about everything*.

So, here's the JPG VERSION and here's the PDF VERSION. Right click and save as and then BAM - you have the tools to make your very own Dumbledork stickers.

Here's what they look like -

Now, me... I just use some generic old sticker paper for my stickers. If you want a more "permanant" stick, use some better quality sticker paper. If you want weather proof... then get vinyl ones made. I will probably make some vinyl ones someday... unsure when. For now - you can put it on sticker paper. You can at least put them on your homemade school book covers (or - other places that won't get wet anytime soon).

Enjoy!

*Please use good judgement when pasting these stickers around. Cop car bumpers are NOT the best place to try and put these. Slytherins... I'm looking at you!!!!

Well, I logged in and I see this thing called The Myspace Music Store. As an artist, I can charge - per track - for my songs. Neat... if you're really serious... which I, the humble dork, am NOT.

So, as a reminder to all of you... my songs will ALWAYS remain free for download.

Also, I am working on the DIY downloadable CD. This will be from my website. You will be able to download ALL of my tracks (in MP3 format - in a ZIP file) and you can print out the cover art (if you desire) and make YOUR VERY OWN Dumbledork CD. If you don't want to go through that hassle... you can just put them on your MP3 player.

I don't care... take my music - FOR FREE - ALWAYS FOR FREE!!!!

Now, I *WILL* accept donations... if you want to send them to me.

I MAY make shirts someday... but that would require the donations... so if you wanna see shirts... tell everyone to send me money.

If I *DO* make shirts... I will probably use the current avatar... as I am rather happy with it and it would transfer well to shirts... due to it's black and white design.

Ok - that's all for now.

What song is MY favorite?

Guess...

Well, it's tough... because all of the songs mean a lot to me. I put a lot into them. While EVERY SINGLE SONG is my favorite... I will let you know the 3 that I actually REALLY love to death.

1. Hagrid <3s Dragons - no samples from other artists... all boxed samples that you can find with Garageband Pro Packs. That fact just kind of makes me a little happy. I also think that song embodies a lot of emotion without the utterance of a single word. The name makes YOU (the listener) imagine the feelings Hagrid has when he thinks about dragons. Or, I hope it makes you feel that way.

2. Hunt for the Giant Squid - It's cool when you can sample Queen, Apocalyptica (covering Metallica) and Danzig all in one song.

3. Yule Ball Dirge - 2 reasons really... one, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Art of Noise... and the sample I use takes me back to the days of high school and making out on couches at a party... (really!!!). Two... the other sample - Tipsy. That's a fun song. I also like the fact that I distorted a sample so much that it sounds like a violin.

Lastly - I will always have a soft spot for Flight of the Post Owl - 2 nicely mashed samples (Egyptian Lover and The Normal... 2 odd tastes that go great together) and the finishing Sample... taken from Joe Rogan... talking about tripping on DMT (the same stuff that makes you dream at night). I just think that's cool.

Anyway - those are some of my favorite things... what are YOURS?
