CHECK IT OUT! HOPE YOU LIKE IT!

http://vimeo.com/2317845

The first music video from Cassavetes (of Atlanta, GA), for the song "Night of the Knife".

As the song is a good old-fashioned murder ballad, and virtually straight narrative to boot, the video follows the story line; it depicts the last day and last thoughts of our unnamed subject (played by Marie Hansen), and the last actions of the man - in this case, also the Narrator - that decided it would be her last day. It's a dark meditation on the limits and possessive power of love, and the transcendance of death through song. Or, alternatively, a fun song with which to sing along. As they say, everyone loves a good murder ballad. The video was directed and animated by Jason Drakeford; art directed by Martha Dixon; and wonderfully lit by Dan Hollister.

The fine people at Ohmpark taped and uploaded our song Praying Sound at Corndogorama 2008. This was 3 of the 19 minutes we played that night, and really kind of the eye of the hurricane. enjoy!

not sure if you guys knew this, or if we'd officially told anyone, but we're got a new member.  Randy Garcia.  he's great, and we're happy to have him.  He'll be making his stage debut with us on Sept 22 at the Magnolia Electric Co / Catfish Haven show at the Earl.  Come out and say hello.  You may already know him, Atlanta is small that way, but still, say hello.

What a great crowd and a great show Saturday night at the Earl!  We'd like to send out a collective thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening such a blast.  Many thanks to Club Awesome and Engineering as well!

Well, we still have lots of cds available so if you didn't pick one up Saturday night, you can grab a copy at our website or soon at Criminal Records in Atlanta.  It should also be available at amazon.com as well as through our label at headphonetreats.com.  So you have lots and lots of options!

There are also a few non-traditional performances scheduled so keep tabs on us at our myspace site if you're so inclined.

thank you to everyone who came out to our CD release party at the Earl on Saturday.  We had an amazing time, and everyone was in such good spirits.  Maybe that had to do with the cake, maybe not.  Regardless, it was nice to be around good friends and good music, and we thank you guys for being a part of it.
