what's up punks? its been a busy 2nd half of 2007, so forgive me if I haven't written in awhile. We saw a lot of you Northeasterners in august, on the all-too-brief NJ Rules tour with the Bouncing Souls, the Ergs!, & Static Radio. Thanks to everyone who came out in Boston, Philly, Baltimore, & New Brunswick. And a big apology to everyone who had to choose between This Is Hardcore and our show. the Ergs! Put out an astounding record this year, so for pete's sake pick it up already if you haven't. We put out a pretty rad record this year, too. So if you don't have it yet, keep this in mind: Chanukah comes early this year, and it would look great sitting under the menorah.
We've been pretty busy since then with our other projects(you know, making babies, making records) since then, but took some time to play Portland & Seattle for the first time since we've been back. Big ups to Shook Ones, Sinking Ships, and Broadway Calls for playing with us. Especially stoked to see Thomas from Strike Anywhere at the Potland show, and a bunch of the Champion dudes at the Seattle show. Always a pleasure to see old (really really old) friends and make new ones. I was really hoping to catch one of sex/vid's legendary performanes while in Washington, but no luck for me.
While some of us were still recovering from Fest VI in Gainesville (Naked Raygun, D4, Avail, Marked Men, Municipal Waste, Dead To Me, & Seaweed all in one weekend? Fucking devastating!!!! Check out Al from Milemarker Burian's new band Canadian Rifles, too. They were one of the most phenomenal bands of the fest, especially if you like Husker Dü like we do.) we got on yet another plane, this time to Austin, TX. We played the Fun Fun Fest with a whole ton of amazing bands, including Neurosis, the Saints, Poison Idea, Sick of It All, Youth Brigade, Against Me!, Riverboat Gamblers, Murder City Devils, New Pornographers, Battles, Don Caballero, Cat Power,Ted Leo/Pharmacists, Diplo, and Busdriver. Scotty GoBots bonded with Cat Power of their mutual love of Pugs (you know, that weird, wheezy, smoosh-face breed of mini-dog). we had an amazing time in Austin, thanks to all the kids that came out and showed love & support, & of course, maximun stagedives. There were a bunch of cool afte
r-party shows, inluding Murder City Devils at one club, and Die Young & Down to Nothing at another.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Don't forget this country already had a sophisticated civilisation living here when we "discovered" it. Tonight we're leaving for our first ever tour of Japan & Australia. I haven't been this excited since the first time we flew to Europe in 1995! Hope to see you there!!!!

Last month the New Jersey Punk Community lost a dear friend, Zack Finch. So many people cared about him and are trying to help his family in their time of need. The fine people over at Chunksaah Records (The Bouncing Souls' label) thought a great way to raise money for Zach's family would be to auction off two pairs of tickets to the August 18th Court Tavern show with The Bouncing Souls/Lifetime/The Ergs/Static Radio NJ to the highest bidder. This is the hottest ticket in town (and probably the hottest, sweatiest show ever...) and for a good cause...so dig deep and show your Jersey pride.
