Current mood: disappointed
Golden Turd It's no secret: I love "The Golden Girls." That damn show was friggin' funny. Thank God that Lifetime plays the hell out of that show. Recently, Lifetime added the post "Golden Girls" CBS spin-off "The Golden Palace" to their schedule. I hadn't seen that show in like 12 years, and I was excited to see some fresh "golden" material. Well, folks, there's a reason why "The Golden Palace" only lasted one season - It's a steaming pile of shit. But it's still fun to watch. Like a train wreck. What's so baffling is how anybody thought this show would work. It's missing the most important ingredient: Bea Arthur as Dorothy. But that doesn't stop the rest of the golden gals from referencing her constantly in the Palace. Cheech Marin as Chuey is a waste of dialogue, and one of our best actors, Don Cheadle, doesn't have any comic chops whatsoever. He's painful to watch as Roland. And what might be most shocking is that some of the writers on "The Golden Palace" include Marc Cherry - who created "Desperate Housewives" - and Mitchell Hurwitz who created the brilliant "Arrested Development." Guess you gotta start somehwere... Anyway, get your ass over to my website: www.tvadviceguy.com

T.A.G. here with breaking news, as always.
Gail Berman, FOX Entertainment President, will be leaving FOX to go to Paramount Pictures! She will take the top creative post under chairman Brad Grey.
We might have scooped Variety here! We might have scooped The Hollywood Reporter! But one thing is for sure: I'm going for a scoop of ice cream right now.
As always, go to http://www.tvadviceguy.com for all things TV. Good. Bad. Or otherwise.

Current mood: giddy
Not unlike "The Jeffersons," TVadviceguy is moving on up! Not quite to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Or even into a run down crack house. So really nothing at all like "The Jeffersons." We're moving on up in quality! We will be adding an exciting new feature to the website very soon. Stay tuned. www.TVadviceguy.

Current mood: indifferent
When UPN announced the cancellation of "Star Trek Enterprise" back in, well, whatever month that was, it really pissed some people off. And by "some people" I mean "Trekkies."
Since the announcement, these dedicated fans of "Star Trek" have started petitions, written letters to the network, and now they are collecting money to, get this, pay for a new season of the show. I hope Scott Bakula is willing to take a severe pay cut.
Today those Trekkies decided to make their voices heard loud and clear. They all gathered in front of Paramount Studios to picket the cancellation. Well, not all of them. Just those who apparently have no jobs and could spend an entire Friday afternoon with signs that read "WWKD - What Would Kirk Do?" "Nielson Schmielson," and "Will work for food." Not sure if that last guy was really a Trekkie or not. But he sure did look like a Klingon.
So even though I have never watched a single minute of "Star Trek," I still salute those dedicated fans of the show, which are fighting to keep their favorite show on the air. Even if they are putting up their fight in the wrong place: Paramount Studios just films the show there, they aren't in charge of the cancellation. The Studio would love nothing more than to keep that show there. The Trekkies should have Trekked on over to the UPN headquarters. But anyway, their hearts are in the right place. I did a similar protest to save "Blossom" and it just ended up with a night in jail.

Is it a hoax? Is it for real? Is T.A.G. breaking a huge news story? RUMOR has it that John Goodman has gone to the great Lunch Box in the sky. We'll keep tracking the story...
UPDATE!!
John Goodman is alive & well!! There was an email floating around the "Industry" that claimed Mr. Goodman had passed to the Center of the Universe & beyond. But it turns out that it was all LIES. We at T.A.G. are relieved to hear that it was false.

Current mood: nauseated
Ladies & gentleman, I have some very disturbing news. You might
have read about it already, as it is a very hot topic at the moment.
"Listen Up" has been renewed for the entire season.
Can you friggen' believe that? CBS must be delirious. That CBS eye must
be a glass eye, because it's impossible to think that the entertainment
executives over there have actually read these atrocious scripts that
cross their desk.
So, if you are looking for something to do between "Still Standing"
& "Everybody Loves Raymond" - you can spend 30 minutes at http://tvadviceguy.100free.com
