Here I am Baby,
Take us by the hand as we take the Midwest Glacier Melt tour straight up the middle o' Merica. This time, we come with Goodies. We finally found ourselves a new van, yet to be named (Green Mountain Dragon Wagon is one), we gots ourselves a new CD, stickers, and new Spirits.  Our family Mama, Miss Gingus is taking er hands upon the real wheel, and we'll be holding down through glorious towns while our Sanity rounds itself through wordplay and stupid games as with stick our tread to the asphalt bed. Get the Jist?
Oh, Old Settlers. How we love thee? One- Peter Rowan; Two- Sarah Jarosz; Three- Sam and David Grisman; Four- Cadillac Sky; Five- Belleville Outfit; Six- The Blue Hit; Seven- New Monsoon; Eight- SLIM RICHEY.
Good times thanks to Cody for his stage/campground; Manny the Manager; Randy Collier; Gingus/Jessica/Mellisa; Billy Bright; Lloyd Mainerisms; Amy Susie Q; Muffy; Raina Rose; Tejano and Mike; Nikki; Tom; Mike and Lisa (and Larry); Laura and Jim; Sound guy Ryan; Jonesey; etc..etc..etc.. etc...
Remember to sign up for the Kerrville Folk Festival, we ill be ter de hole time mon! And Don't forget to meet us in Telluride for the Telluride BoogerBooty Festival with all of those Beautipul People.
Well, the 1930s Erotic video needs to be back to I Love Video soon before a late fee developes...
Until then,
Much Love and Peace and Harmony,
Rev. J.

    Wow! SXSW is over!

We hope all had a good week of insane marathon listening and playing, a shared collectiveness of What it truly means to live in Austin, Texas during her week to shine on, letting both her visitors and children know that She will always be known for "The Live Music Capital of the Universe".  Well, that is what we Austinites, would like to proclaim until the day we die, anyways.  Well, as the Green Mountain Grass Family has taken to quiet meditation and liver detox, we can only guess what is in store for the next couple of months. Well, at least we can grip our spines around the basic facts: Travel, Music, Friends, Food, Drink, and Countryside. And the rest? We’ll let the road answer those questions as they appear.
We had some good times here and there and there and everywhere.. I caught a couple of shows in between the madness, too (NOFX, Two High String Band, Toy Hearts.. etc..)..

And how do we fly? Why, As the Crow Flies, my dears. Yep. If you’ve been patiently waiting for something new from us- wait no longer; we have something that might take your head for the proverbial spin. A year in the making, we have finally can offer a glimpse of what our live shows have been like for the last year, since we have been able to put the Ton Ton reigns on the Banjo wizard Trevor Smith, the sweetest addition to our pack of wild musical thought Webbers. And you know how we do it- surprise guests galore and even more in store or until your ears are sore.

Please come to Old Settlers Music Festival- It is a glimpse of the magic that the Austin area attracts...

And even more, we have a whole tour to relinquish our picks of fury…

Check out our schedule, and please, if we didn’t get a hold of you, and we are coming to your area- get a hold of us and we would love to meet up..

Something like this- Texas tour, Old Settlers Music Festival, Midwest Tour, Kerrville Folk Festival,  Colorado, Telluride Music Festival, Northwest Tour, Oregon Country Fair (crossing our fingers), Californian Musical Gold Rush Tour, Southwest Tour then Back home in Augustus. And all that with new transportation, good friends and a new CD.

How about them apples?

Our dear friend Anne Feeney, political songwriter/activist, has opened her doors to our traveling roadshow so come on out and celebrate her new house!!!!

NEW HOUSE/APRIL 12th HOUSEWARMING with GREEN MOUNTAIN GRASS

After complaining in last month's newsletter about not having enough to do in April... I happened upon a darling 3 bedroom Victorian house that's twice the size of the house I'm living in - for $37,000!!! It needs some TLC of course, but I closed on March 26th! When I get home from this tour I can begin packing, doing my taxes and moving... that should fill up those empty hours I was worried about...

I'm completely moving in on May 1st, but on April 12th I'm going to have a special housewarming party featuring Green Mountain Grass from Austin, TX.

Green Mountain Grass has been raising the roof at the Kerrville Folk Festival and I know you'll all be enchanted and dazzled by this fabulous young band. Come see my new house and hear some great music starting at 6PM on April 12th. I'll provide some refreshments, but you're welcome to bring some too...

I'm suggesting a $10-20 donation. I'm also signing folks up for a moving crew.

So, you Pittsburgh & vicinity folks come on by. I'll have a virtual housewarming on my blog too, with pictures & such. This is the first of what I hope will be many happy parties at my new house.

Starting MAYDAY 2007, send all snail mail to:

Anne Feeney
2240 Milligan Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15218

and I may be losing my 412.241.7664 phone number. I'll let you know if I get a new phone number. In the meantime, try 412.877.6480 (my cell) ... I'm on the road with it most of the time anyway...

I was watching fourteen blooming flowers with my eyes closed in a cuddle puddle while a girl was speaking in tongues.

What? There's a five dollar cover to get into San Francisco? No, it's seven fifty.

Current mood:  bouncy

The mountain breeze, the ancient trees
Exploding waves on endless seas
Smoking mounds of evergreens
The likes of which I've never seen.

Pacific winds and the smell of pines
At least one hundred county lines.
A double rainbow in the mountain mist
It makes me glad that I exist.

Fields of yellow, orange and red
Bright blue fractals inside my head.
The buzz of the city, the giant towers
And Booger-Booty's fourteen flowers.

Jack Flash, Hashplant and DMT
Flight attendants propositioning me.
Dozens of hours in the back of the MUV
Filled with the people who I truly love.

"It takes a community to raise the village idiot's dog."
"We were only talking because we were in the same place at the same time saying stuff."
"He hasn't been the same since he ate the acid our lawyer gave us."
"Craig is a really great guy, he really rubbed me the right way."
"I'd much rather have a cardboard cutout of Chewbacca in my house than add three years to my life."
"Are you Mrs. Right For Tonight?"
[outside on porch] Turtle: "we have been saying 'Dude' and 'Fuck' way too much" [Pickles walks by on cellphone] Pickles: "Fuck yeah, dude..."

Hello Party People,

We can't take the Texas heat any longer, so we are taking off tomorrow to the Mountains of Colorado. Along the way, we will be stopping in Denton, TX, Denver, Boulder, Breckenridge, Vail, Carbondale, SCI at Red Rocks, the Rainbow Gathering, St. Louis, and finally over to Schawgstock in Missouri. If any of ya'll will be in those areas and want to chill, shoot us a line.

Peace and loving kindness,
