Take me out the ballgame...

Buy me a beer and some crack or Jack...hehem...pardon me.

We'll be warming up for the Reds on Saturday (5/9) at Great American Ballpark at the little beer garden/stage by the fancy beers and tiki bar...you know where it is.

Get there at 5:30 and enjoy our tunes until game time!

The Reds play the Cards so it will be pleasing to the baseball loving Newbees fans as well.

WHEN: THIS WED, NOV 26, 8PM

WHERE: SOUTHGATE HOUSE, NEWPORT, KY (ACROSS FROM THE LEVEE)

WHY: TO RAISE A BOATLOAD OF MONEY FOR THE ERIC POHLGEERS MEMORIAL FUND FOR THE LINDEN GROVE SCHOOL

HOW COME IT COSTS $25: (you can get them for 20 at southgatehouse.com) THIS IS A BIG DEAL....THE BANDS ARE PLAYING FOR FREE. ALL THE MONEY GOES TO CHARITY. IT'S ALSO THE TURKEYS CD RELEASE AND A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY THE 9 MEMBER NEWBEES ORCHESTRA. There will also be a silent auction.

What is the Eric Pohlgeers Memorial Fund?
According to everyone I've spoken to and from personal experience Eric was one of the most selfless and giving people most have ever know.

From CinWeekly - When Eric Pohlgeers passed away in May at age 38, The Turkeys lost a good friend. That's why they and a few close friends set up the Eric Pohlgeers Memorial Fund, a benefit for alternative learning school Linden Grove School in Blue Ash, where Pohlgeers taught and worked with his sister Lou McKibbin. Proceeds from The Turkeys' Thanksgiving Eve show will benefit the memorial fund. Knapp and Cusentino considered Pohlgeers a notable personality in MainStrasse Village. "He would always help us carry our speakers out to our car, always help clean up the bar. He's really missed," Cusentino says "If you were ever jonesing for Pez," Knapp says, "he was the guy to see."

Who's this benefit for? Linden Grove School is a state-accredited, not-for-profit, private school that offers an alternative learning program for an important population of students who struggle with a more traditional school setting. Linden Grove serves students who typically have a variety of needs that impact their learning due to various disabilities, including ADHD, language processing disorders, dyslexia, sensory integration disorder, high- functioning autism, Asperger's syndrome and related social and behavioral difficulties.

If we are honored by your presence at our Midpoint set (This Thursday, 9/25 @ 9pm @ New Stage Collective)  you can take home the entire Newbees CD catalog for free. That's 3 albums, no money.

We also have a limited number of Iron-on T-shirt decals, made by the lovely Miss Tiffany of Mind Ignition and girly Newbee necklaces made by me for the lucky, early arrivals.

We're doing an acoustic show, so it will also be an all new way to take in the Newbees experience.

Won't you join us?

Wristband or $5.00 at the door

Now entering its seventh year, lots of things about this year's MidPoint Music Festival (running Sept. 25-27 in Downtown, Over-the-Rhine and Newport) will feel familiar. But even more will feel different.

CityBeat has taken over the fest, which has brought thousands of musicians and music industry heavies to Cincinnati over the years and provided a great three-day party in the urban center for local and regional music lovers.

MidPoint offers 175 bands on 17 stages over three nights -- with so much to see and hear, why waste time standing in line to pay cover charges at each club? Festivalgoers in the know pony up for a three-day or one-day wristband and guarantee themselves smooth sailing.

The three-day wristband gains you entry to all MidPoint shows, subject to capacity rules, and waives all cover charges. One-day wristbands get you into multiple shows on one particular night. They also allow you to travel from venue to venue via the Scion Streetcar Shuttle, which provides free rides each evening along a route on Main Street, 12th Street, Walnut Street and Fifth Street.
