greetings from Japan! We played our 5th show last night, and it just keeps getting better and better. I am blown away by the quality of bands here-- especially the ladies. Everynight there is a band with at least one girl, if not all girls, just going to town. Loving it. Although last night kudos to the bass player of one of the bands-- a pyscobilly band, who started their set with a bloody face, and from there proceeded to get naked, cover himself in shampoo and water and slide across the club floor. Whoa! check out some video from one of our shows on Friday in Roppongi, Tokyo.....
could get used to this! ARIGATO!! xoxo

We're opening for Berlin Friday!!
Yes, THAT Berlin…featuring the foxy Miss Terri Nunn…. FRIDAY JULY 3RD @ DANTES ======================= KLEVELAND 9:30 BERLIN 11:00 The Prids 10:15 Pitchfork Motorway 9:00 Whoa! The first Berlin song I heard was “Sex..I’m a….” when I was a kid, and I thought it was the dirtiest thing I had ever heard….although I never saw a Berlin show until a few years ago at Dantes. I was concerned their show would be a cheesy 80’s revue, but I was so very wrong…. Miss Nunn killed it, and the band totally rocked. …so we are all very excited to be apart of this show !!! Not only do we get to rock it with Berlin, but we have some VERY EXCITING NEWS TO ANNOUNCE AT THE SHOW!!!! And if you don’t have tickets, this will sell out, so follow this link: http://ev12.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventInfo?ticketCode=GS%3aTWS%3aPDAN09:PDAN0703%3a&linkID=twspok xoxo KLEVELAND Stephanie, Allen, Kevin H & Kevin R

We are honored to be playing at the CD release party of one of Portland's most talented songwriters, Mike D & The Loyal Bastards!!! FRIDAY JUNE 19th @ Dante's ========================= KLEVELAND (10:30pm) MIKE D & THE LOYAL BASTARDS (11:30pm) RADIO NATIONALS (9:30pm) not only is Mike D one of the best songwriters I know, he is one of my best friends and supporters-- you could say he is responsible for Kleveland even being around-- from very early on, he has believed in me, and encouraged me to keep going. I continue to get inspiration from his songs-- they come from the heart and gut, and get stuck in your head. He writes true tales from the dark side-- I remember some reviewer once said Mike D's songs contained the kind of darkness and intensity that even Death Metal could only aspire to-- but I would add that despite the darkness, Mike D's survivalist humanity makes his songs & shows uplifting. This is what great songwriting should do folks-- and it is right in your backyard--- so let's really get the word out and SUPPORT THIS SHOW!!!!! It's gonna be a blast!!! xoxo KLEVELAND Stephanie, Allen, Kevin H & Kevin R ============================

ok-- so a few months ago, I get this comment on our 'You're Not Sorry' video: “This is the most disgusting video EVERRR! Who would ever make this shit??????”
While I don’t celebrate when I get these kind of negative comments, it’s always gratifying to spark a strong reaction. Considering the subject matter of the video ( vampires, dismemberment, et all) I was kinda surprised it didn't happen sooner. Out of curiosity I looked at the person's profile, and it was plastered with tween sensations, like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift. Not exactly what I was expecting. Thought maybe it would be more like a group from the Concerned Citizens For A Vampire Free America (CCFVFA). But it was just a teenybopper.
Didn't think much about it, till very soon after, I got another comment from someone else, "I thought this was Taylor Swift. This shit sucks." and then another, then another........ what the hell was going on? Why was my comment page under attack by the Taylor Swift underage army??? A half second google search later revealed: (which apparently everyone knew but me): Miss Swift had a song called "You're Not Sorry" on her new album. Hordes of sweet, innocent (and potty mouthed I might add) children were mistakenly watching my video, while attempting to watch hers on YouTube.
I went in search of this song, and much to my dismay, it sounds nothing like my song! No trillion dollar lawsuit for me. Rats. Her song is a rather standard issue sad ballad-y thing—and she is this sparkly perfect blonde thing singing her underage heart out— As I was watching her video, I just couldn’t help but be delighted to think of the kids mistakenly watching my blood thirsty vampires chomping on a severed arm. Is that wrong? He he.
So no hard feelings Miss Swift— one of the nice things about getting older is not caring as much what people think, and just getting to be your own vampire loving self, no matter what…….
Besides, my Kleveland Army rules all over your Army anyday. No contest.
Just saying : )
Can’t wait to see all you guys on the 29th…… Xoxo KMB

Current mood:put a sock in it!!!
Hi all…time for a Keveland dispatch….
we are based in a little town called 'Enter" in a bungalow at a vacation community....very cute, very Disney like.....first show we had was actually a radio show in Enschede… before hand we got to practice at a really nice studio, although something was up with the wiring of the place, because we all were getting the stuffing shocked out of us on the mics. After a few songs standing about a foot away from the mic, Rankin went to the attendant to get help. He returned a bit confused, When Rankin told him of our dilemma, the attendant yelled ‘IMPOSSIBLE!’ “That’s it?”we said? “No,” said Rankin, “He then advised me to ‘use a sock’ to cover the mic” .. I believe we wasted a good half hour pondering if he meant for Rankin to take off the sock he was wearing and put it on the mic? Was the attendant offering his own sock to the cause? Perhaps he just meant ‘put a sock in it”….that night we went to downtown Enschede, which is closed off to cars, so we had to carry our gear a little ways for the radio show.. Rankin just brought a snare and we stumbled along the beautiful cobble stone streets… the folks at the station were sooo nice, and we squeezed in their studio and did our best to put on a show for the radio, despite all of us being really jet lagged. ‘ Jet lagged’ sounds really international and cool, but it is just a fancy way of saying ‘I feel like a Zombie’…. but we all laughed and played some songs, Rankin couldn't get his drums in so he played a snare & a chair.. what the hell, we were doing a radio show in Europe!!!....
The next day I woke up with what felt like a nasty cold..nooooOO!!!!!! We went to the first show in Hengelo, The Metropol, got there about 4pm for souncheck...when we first arrivied they offered us espresso, beer, water.....after soundcheck they called us for dinner, and we had a family style dinner with all the crew-- lamb curry w- brown rice, salad, rolls...wow! Quite a different reception than ANYWHERE in the U.S......and all this was for a FREE show on a Thursday night for an unknown band from the U.S....but this is the way they roll here in Holland... At the radio station they warned us that Dutch audiences tend to be very reserved, arms folded....there was an opening band, we were headlining, and..We took the stage, and surprisingly there was a decent crowd....the show was going well-- until about 7 songs into it, my amp just died. CRAP!! We tried a few things, but it was apparent it was nothing was going to work, so I did the rest of the set without git, and just let Kevin Hahn play it…I was starting to dispair, this is not a great way to start, but we just rolled with it, and I got to run around the stage and be a freak and it was an AWESOME SHOW!!!! the crowd we were warned about, ended up headbanging and signing along, and even got a mini mosh pit going that I jumped into...it really was a fun show... afterwards I got descended upon by a small but eager crowd of kids wanting us to sign CD’s and postacrds and did I mention how foxy these Dutch folks are? No? Well let me tell you-- the boys are tall and the ladies are lovely…oh yea… . Maybe it is the accent, I dunno, but I like em. Running out of time here--- we have to go to our show in Doetinchem (note: you try to pronounce that. The locals have been getting a kick out of me trying to pronounce their cities’ names from the stage….”Heellloooo Heerenveen!!) But our show last night in Heerenveen was a blast-- we played a little rock n roll bar, ‘7e Hemel’ and we had em headbanging again-- and the bar owner had the best jukebox, we stuck around and danced it up, while he bought Rankin round after round-- I think he is still asleep right now-- Having a blast-- much love to you guys-- Xoxo
