So today's forecast is rain. Rain. Rain and wind and rain. However, I am hold up in my favorite diner in all of Brooklyn:Jimmy's Diner. It's awesome. Being a southern boy I long for some good down-home cooking and well, jimmy's is the real stuff. They boast on the front window of the joint 'The Best Fried Chicken in Brooklyn'. And even though I am a crazy vegetarian, I do not doubt that claim. I have smelled it. And it smells fantastic. Today the menu called for nachos and a side order of some Dolly Parton. I mean can you go wrong with that kind of combo? I don't think so.
In other news, the record has gone through round one of mastering. I haven't heard it yet, but dammit I am so ready to get this thing out there.
Well, I am full of tasty jimmy's goodness and now I am gonna try to trek my way back to my apartment. Do me a favor and tell one person about runaway dorothy. We need all the help we can get getting the word out about us. I will forever be grateful for all your help.
Cheers to all, d

So I don't knew if any of you have ever lived in a big city, but if you have you would know that the daily grind of rush rush rush can get you down. If you take a look around the subway everyone sits and stands pretty emotionless. No smiles on their faces. I really think after time if you don't watch yourself your 'no expression' will start to turn into a frown. I noticed this last night on my ride home on the train. Everyone on the train was just blank. No expression. Not quite frowning, but definitely on the way. EXCEPT this one girl. She just sat there reading her book. She wasn't smiling, but her non-expression was still happy. It was a smile without really smiling. It made me smile. Thanks random girl on the train. And I am sorry if I was staring, but I was just amazed.

ps I am on a big Ella kick right now.

Hey Folks, Just wanted to let you know about our demos page. It's in our top eight so check out some new songs as they are in their earliest versions. Today I added a song from one of my favorite singer/songwriters in the entire world:Laura J Vincent. If you don't know her you should get to know her really soon before she explodes onto the music scene.
Enjoy, d

New York City is now covered with the leftovers of nine inches of snow. As I look out of my window i can see people almost bust their faces as they try to navigate the sidewalks. Inside I can hear the sound of water dripping. That would be the leak in my ceiling landing in a bucket of water in my room. Ah, New York City living.
In other news I have been spending a lot of time lately in museums. Did I spell that right? Since the record is practically all done except for mastering, I haven't had a whole lot I needed to take care of. So these cold wet winter days have found me alongside many elementary school groups getting lost inside many of New Yorks largest museums. This isn't as difficult task as I would have thought. I have learned many things this past week. One of which is that I love the way the Brits say 'meteor'. I found that out yesterday at the Natural history museum. I also learned that Japanese tourists cannot stop giggling long enough to take a single photo. I find this very endearing.
Still in other news my dog Liam(named after the singer of Oasis) has to have surgery. It seems that he has a strained tendon in his hind leg. He goes under the knife on Wednesday and his recovery time is expected to be about eight weeks. He isn't supposed to be very active that whole time, but as some of you know Lers(Liam nickname) is quite the hyper dog.
Well enough with the updates. I will try to put up a new song soon. If not on this page then on the demos page. Off to tell the landlord the roof is leaking again.
ttfn, d

Current mood: cold
Category: Music
It's cold in NYC. And I ain't just talking about the snow falling as I write this. I mean it's cold. It's dark. And awful damn lonesome right now.
Did you ever do something for someone and when it was all said and done you realized that the effort you put forth for them they just didn't deserve? I am starting to feel that way about this record(btw we are mixing right now and it sounds really damn good). I mean I am glad I wrote it, and I am glad we recorded it. But when I first started writing these songs I wasn't thinking about them for an album. They were songs for someone, and they were songs about someone. Someone I really cared about. But now it's different.....
Over the next few weeks we will be winding down and new songs will be added. I hope you like them, but if you don't I hope you at least gave them a listen. If you take nothing away from them please know they are honest. It was what I felt. Word for word. So where it began I was writing these for someone, it turns out it was for me. But I am willing to share them with you.
Stay warm, d

Current mood: drained
So I am back in New York City. It seems like it has been ages since I have been here. To be honest it feels kinda strange to be here. The last few weeks in the studio were pretty much just a whirl wind, but I think that will be good in the end because all of the songs will sound fresh and new. I have the rough mixes and they sound really good. Tomorrow the next chapter in recording begins. I will be laying down all the vocal parts at BNAC studios here in New York. If all goes to plan the record should be off to be mixed at Oranje Studios in a couple weeks. Artwork is in the making and a release date is being set sometime around the last of November. It will be my Christmas present to each of you.

Hey all, Thanks for stopping by and keeping up with us. Here is what has happened in the studio so far. I got here two weeks ago on Friday and started pre-production. This basically consisted of going to the bar and having enough beer and shots to kill a small animal. The bar closed and we continued our pre-production at the 'Gentlemen's' Club next door. The rest from there is just a big haze. I woke up today and to my surpise the record is almost done. Who knew? Anyways, it's been really fun working with Oran(he is our producer). We are now just putting the bells and whistles on for finishing touches. I leave on Saturday to finish up everything back in New York.

By the way, Price fixed my phone so I use it now. Also, if you sent me a message in the last four or five days i didn't get it.
