As many of you know, I have recently undergone major surgery for something that has been a problem for me for decades. It was necessary surgery if I wanted to have any semblance of a normal life, but it is something that I had basically dealt with for over 30 years.
It's amazing how the grace of God "is sufficient." I had never really considered that my issue was something that could have been approached from the aspect of surgery. My condition had progressed to the unbearable state it was, over the years, so I had dealt with varying degrees of discomfort. But still, His grace was sufficient to carry me through all those years and changes.
But illumination that I rec'd over this trial have had a tremendous impression on me for this particular journey.
Particulary over the past two weeks or so, I have received some ministry from "angles of mercy" -- messengers of God in the Body of Christ who have been encouraging, inspirational and merciful to me.
In those same couple of weeks, I have seen a vulture of prey who tried to take advantage of my battle for their own purposes.
Our journey is a constant battle to keep advancing the Kingdom. This is why God's Word tells us to pray without ceasing and to endure hardness like a good soldier. We have to be wary of the devil's devices at all times. Sometimes he comes as an angel of light -- someone or something that pretends to be from God, but is really a puppet of satan. So how do we know if an apparent "angel" is really a "vulture"? 1. Maintain your own intimacy with the Holy Spirit. 2. Walk in obedience and wisdom (this is something that takes a specific effort -- wisdom is not automatic just because we're saved). 3. Be quick to hear, slow to speak. 4. Let Father God be your vindicator (don't be so quick to vindicate yourself or "prove" that you are right). One of the things I loved about our Lord Jesus is that when He faced accusation at the most pivotal part of His earthly ministry (the end), He didn't say one word of defense when brought before the high priests. He knew He had done the will of the Father up to that point, and was determined to complete His mission the same way -- in obedience, fully knowing that He had the power and wisdom to put those high priests to silence -- rather, He, Himself, was silent.
None of these is "easy." But they are necessary to do like Jesus did -- went from glory to glory, in His journey. If we want the same results, we have to do the same things. Selah.

I just gave the web site a facelift this week. Didn't change any content, basically. Added Jahaziel's video, "In My Neighborhood," though, to the Multimedia page. One day I'll get it professionally redesigned.

Fam, wazzup!
We're still amazed at the explosion of popularity for ALR's programming this year!
Both February and March posted over 10,000 listening hours, following behind January which was our first month in Altared Lives Radio's history of posting more than 10,000 listening hours! Thank You, Lord!
Listener Stats were: Jan. - 11,199 Total Listening Hours (TLH) Feb. - 10,931 TLH Mar. - 11,639 TLH
Most of the current listenership boost occurred as a result of ALR's getting listed in the iTunes radio directory. The Lord Jesus is showin' up and showin' out!
We are continuing to look for more places & avenues to invade with the contagious Gospel of Jesus Christ via Gospel hip hop.
Walk/march/run/step (whateva!) with us as we enter the next dimension of ministry!
Be a part of what God is doing with the movement!

Fam!
Blessings to God Almighty for Altared Lives Radio logging 11,199 aggregate tuning hours for January 2009!
This is a milestone for the station. We had yet to break the 10,000 listening hours for one month until last month.
Not only did we break the barrier, we exceeded it by just 1 hour short of 1,200 hours!
Praise the Lord Jesus for all of ALR's faithful listeners. Keep it locked!

I wanted to share a few thoughts for artists who prefer to submit music to Altared Lives Radio via the Internet.
For those who utilize www.yousendit.com to submit music for airplay consideration on ALR, please make sure you:
1. Include a return email address in case I need to contact you. Many submissions are not accompanied by any contact information. Makes it impossible for me to contact you in case I have to for some reason about your submission.
2. Include the song title (here we go again! ), album title if there is one and artist name. Songs continue to be uploaded with titles such as "Track05."
On a side note, the preferred media of choice for me to review music is from a mailed CD.
Although I know in this age of digital media for artists, CDs are cumbersome and more expensive for you to send. However, I do not have time to sit in front of computer and review music. When I'm on my computer, I'm taking care of business and I'm usually listening to ALR to make sure the music mix is tyte and to purge the playlist; or I'm processing files for airplay; or I'm visiting web sites where videos or music tracks are playing. Therefore I'm unable to review music for airplay while I'm on my computer.
So I prefer CDs because I primarily pop them in my car and listen to music submissions during my commutes.
So please be aware that if you submit music, especially a whole CD via the Internet (a .zip file, etc.), that it's going to take longer for me to review it as I have to unzip it (meaning I've added 20+ files most times to my computer that I might only want 3 at the most of), burn it to a CD (make that "find" a CD to burn it on ) and then pop it in my car.
It's so much easier to grab a convenient CD submission that someone has mailed and pop it in the CD changer in my car... So guess who gets listened to and added to rotation first.
May a word to the wise be sufficient...

Look for some new things for Altared Lives Mins. in 2009. Already since 2006 we have been blessed to serve over 4.5 million performances of music via Altared Lives Radio.
We're starting off with new logos which you might have noticed on the top banner here and on the general web site.
Thanks to God and N.U.B.O.R.N. the Firewalker for the hot new logos. Someone is also working on giving my myspace page a facelift, too, thanks to the Lord and Cheno Lyfe.
These are some unselfish and good dudes, fam. Support these artists' ministries.
I am ecstatic to welcome Uncle Cliff in a greater supportive role as he steps big in ATL for the Holy Hip Hop Awards, to represent Christ Jesus and ALR. Uncle Cliff will be looking to bless a few folk with some new t-shirts sportin' ALR's new logo. Peep for him!
ALMs & ALR are looking to meet more needs in 2009 and march further ahead with the overall vision this year. I'm not sure what all that involves, but God knows!
Pray with us we take the city, the Internet, the nation, and the world for the kingdom and glory of God our Father and Jesus Christ, His Son! Thank You, Holy Ghost!
