Category: Romance and Relationships

Well I havent written a blog in a very long time because I havent had the time so I thought I'd return bringing that controversy like only I can..

Today I'd like to talk about something thats been on my mind, women who choose to "act like men". By "act like men" they mean they have casual sex with whoevOr or whenevOr with no strings attatched. They just want to have fun without worrying about jealous boyfriends, guilt or some of the other bothersome things that come with a relationship. The show Sex & The City i think empowered a lot of women to feel comfortable with this lifestyle which says women should be able to do all the things men get away with. That's the way it should be right? Right?....WRONG. Maybe it should  be but it can't work like that. Women who try to live the "Sex & The City" life will be labeled hoes...or sluts, depending on your culture. And in the end, the longer they want to live that lifestyle, the harder it will be for them to find a good man when they finally choose to stop living like that. Why you ask? Because when a man wants to settle down he doesn't want the women who slept with a bunch of guys in high school  or college, he wants a woman who probably had a handful of long term relationships before meeting him. A woman who respects herself and feels her body is too valueable to just let anyone try out the goods. There is nothing that is more of a turn off to me than a woman who has been with many other men especially ones that I know personally. Its a double standard that many women feel is not fair but the fact of the matter is, men shouldnt be sleeping around so much either. So why would two wrongs make a right?

I don't want to come off being judgemental so im gonna break down some tips for women who wants to live "like men". You know, to help them out...

1. Do your research. Don't be the chick who is trying to run through the crew. I can't count how many times a woman has tried to mess with me and then turn around and mess with another guy not realizing that the two of us were friends. You'll look like a hoe.

2. Don't brag about how you "think and act like a guy". Woman are not capable of truly thinking and acting like men. That line sounds stupid. You'll look like a hoe.

3. Don't expect men who you are interested in a relationship with to wifey you up if they know you usually give it up on the first night.

4. Understand that there is a direct relation between how long it takes a man to have sex with a woman and how much he's going to respect her. The longer he has to wait for sex, the more he'll respect you. Don't expect much respect after sex on the first night.

A lot of women are gonna have a problem with some of the stuff i said and my use of the word "hoe" but in the end it boils down to this, a women should be able to live the life that she wants but that doesnt mean men have to or will respect her for it. Think about it.

Tell me what you you think. Can women live the life of a playa or will they always be seen as hoes?

The other day I was sitting at the computer working when I heard a knock at the door. When I got to the door there was no one standing there but there was a box lodged in the door. So I take the box upstairs to open it and was excited to find out it was the custom Air Max I had ordered from NikeID.com. And even better arriving 2 weeks early! So I popped open the box to find a shoe box inside that looks a little more polished than the ones you normally get Nikes in. It was shiny, had some metal parts and opened differently. So i get it open to find the inside of the box covered with a velvet like material and the shoes were inside of a sack that had the same velvet feel to it. I give Nike credit for putting so much in the presentation. So anyway,I get the bag open and find my Air Max inside made exactly to my specifications. Purple on white with my name embroidered on the heel. Perfect. One of the things I was worried about when I was thinking of using this service was whether Nike would put the same craftmanship into thier custom shoes as they do the ones you buy in the store. Nothing could be more embarassing then walking down the street and having your "swoosh" fall off. But upon careful examination the shoes appeared to be flawless. So I couldn't be happier.

See I'm a person who likes having things that no one else ownes, so I'm glad Nike offers this service. If I was to have one complaint it would be that Nike doesn't offer all of its sneakers for customization. So you won't be buying any custom Jordans or Air Force Ones. I'm not sure why they wouldn't include these more popular shoes. Your guess is as good as mine on that one. But I encourage you all to go check it out. They have a lot of products you can customize including almost all of the released Air Maxes. If you like it, I suggest you also check out Timberland's site because they offer a similar service for thier boots.

In the meantime I'm gonna call up A.K.A. and ramble on about my new sneakers.

I was up late last night watching Family Guy while tryin to sober up from one too many Long Island Ice Teas. While I was watching I saw something that really peaked my interest, Master Replica's Force FX Lightsabers. I had heard of these things before and I think I even read a review on one but I didn't really think too much of them. I'm not really a Star Wars person. I haven't even seen the original film. When it comes to science fiction, I'd rather have an Alien or a Predator than a Ewok. So you might ask then why do I care about these lightsabers. Well the commercial made them look pretty cool. They act just like the ones from the film. Even making that hum noise that they do in the movies. I couldn't help but imagine myself cracking Eric one good time in the back of his head and hearing that realistic clashing sound! Yeh I'm all about that Dark Side. Anyway, I checked the price and they are pretty expensive. Like $120. I'm not sure that price is worth being able the kill your foes in style like Sam Jackson or not...

I just read on the internet that Proof of D12 was mudered last night. Details at this time are slim but one thing that is for sure is that this is another sad day in Hip Hop.

Many people dismiss D12 as nothing more than a bunch of guy's riding Eminem's coat tails and for the most part I agree. Well, I had agreed with the exception of one member, Proof. I always felt this guy was really talented but never really had his chance to shine due to his accociation with Slim Shady.

During my time in Iraq I had a chance to pick up his album soon after it was released and though you may have not have heard too much about it, the album was good. Like I said the guy had talent.

As of the time I'm posting this blog, rumor has it that D12's Bizarre may have also been injured in the incedent that took Proof's life. I can't say for sure whether this is true or not. For now I can just mourn the lost of another talented emcee.

If you get a chance check out Proof's Searching For Jerry Garcia. It's worth a listen.

In my effort to not overwork myself with things having to do with Highbrid Ent., I've decided that I will not do any Highbrid work on the weekends unless its extremely important. So far its working out good. It gives me a chance to let the batteries recharge.

So today I've decided to finish reading Confessions of a Video Vixen by Karrine "Superhead" Steffans (yes she calls herself that). I'm already about halfway through the book. I really didnt know what to expect when I picked up this book because it had been causing such a controversy in the Hip Hop community. Seems like some people feel this is the story of a woman overcoming adversity to acheive something great in her life. Others think she's a nothing more than a "video hoe" who's making money by dropping names and ruining rapper's lives. Well I'm somewhere in the middle. I think Karrine is a woman who had a hard life, grew up to become a "video hoe" and then in a very smart move, wrote a book about how much of a hoe she is. Honestly I don't feel too bad for the people she put out there. You do the dirt, you gotta accept the consequenses. And she names quite a few too. Ice T, Ja Rule (i thought he was gay) and even Ray J (aka Brandy's Little Brother) are just some of the ones talked about. It amazes me how she paints herself in this book. Her trouble with the men in her life she uses to make you feel sorry for her but shetotally downplays some of the very questionable moves she made such as becoming a stripperor abandoning her son on a front lawn to go follow her dreams as an actress.

From what I understand these days she's doing good though. She's even dating a non-rapper, Bill Maher (?!?)

Well like I said I'm only halfway done so I don't want to really make the call on her yet since I don't know the whole story. So after I finish maybe I'll come back here and give my final opinion. HowevOr I think when its all said and done I'll always remember her for one thing....being the girl in Mystikal's Danger video who had nothing but little star pasties on her breasts.

Many people dont know this about me but I'm a gamer. I don't mean I own a Playstation and I play Madden from time to time. I mean I'm a true gamer. On average I'd say I buy a new video game every month. I own two systems right now. I own a Nintendo Gamecube and a Nintendo DS. As of late my Gamecube hasn't been getting played as much as my DS. My DS may have been one of the best puchases I've ever made! I'm loving it. I can't wait until the new DS Lite comes out in a few months. If you don't know about the DS Lite please behold....

Sexy no? In recent weeks I've gotten into playing my DS online via the Nintendo WiFi Connection. I'm getting a a kick out of serving fools in Metroid Prime Hunters. Headshots for the masses! I gotta admit Nintendo really has gotten thier act together. Anyone who knows about the video game biz know in the last few years Nintendo has been heavily overshadowed by Microsoft with thier Xbox brand and Sony with thier Platstation brand. Well the DS is kicking the PSP's @$$. Could this be a sign that Nintendo is on the comeback? That's hard to say. MS has the new Xbox 360 out (though I'm unimpressed) and Sony is preparing the PS3 (which I'm hearing can do everything from paying your bills to rasing your children for you). So what does Nintendo have to go up against these? The Revolution. The concept of the Rev is too much to go into detail here. If you want to know more I suggest you go go check out this site. Then you can come back and tell me what do you think the future holds for Nintendo

Welcome to my first blog! Over the last few months I've heard "blog this" and "blog that" and I've wondered what all the fuss was about. Seemed like it was just a bunch of people who's opinions didnt matter stating thier opinions. But I've realized that they are more than that. People's blogs are changing the world as we know it. Blogs are doing things such as influencing the the media and politics. Amatuer blogs are even breaking major news stories before the big guys. It was enough to convince me to give it a go. So here we are, my first blog.....

I recently got back from New York. I went up there to touch base with the rest of the Highbrid guys. For those who are not  aware, the majority of Highbrid staff and artists reside in New York with a handful of us living other places (Myself and AKA in Pittsburgh and Dante Marshall in Atlanta). So it was good to be around the rest of the guys. Everything went great. We got to hang out (ask Two1 about the heart shaped sweat stain, lol), take care of some business and make some music.

Im really happy to anounce that our advertising company Highbrid Outdoor has landed a rather big named client. I'm not sure how much I can say about it yet so I wont spill all the beans. I'm sure more about that will be anounced in the near future but its a huge step for what we are tryin to build with that company.

Anyway onto Highbrid Entertainment, me and Cahmodity were in the studio while I was up there. It really was great for me because it allowed me to get readjusted to the studio process after being gone in Iraq for so long. We recorded at Jambox in Manhatten and were blessed to have a great engineer named Pete who was really on top on his stuff. I'm used to explaining things to the engineer about what I want to do. Sometimes having to explain it several different ways for them to get it. Pete was different. This guy was doing things on the song before they would even come out of my mouth. Like he was reading my mind or something. We did the vocals for 6 songs in less than 6 hours! Has to be a record for us. I'll make sure to request him next time we use that studio. The tracks came out pretty good too. We did a few over my beats and and one over that Master Ace- How We Roll beat (some of ya'll folks may know it better as the beat used for Ashanti's most recent single). I really love that beat! I have even used a peice of it before on the Bet That Remix I did a few years back. I threw it up on my page so people can hear it. Haven't decided where the other tracks will appear or when they will appear yet though. Its funny because my voice sounds different since I've returned from Iraq. Like all that sand scratched up my vocal cords. I like it though so you wont hear me complaining.

I think thats all for now. I'll try to post something new from time to time. I plan on talking about everything under the sun in my blogs to keep them interesting. I'll also be talking about things going on in Highbrid. So subscribe, leave a comment and check back. Next time i do one of these i'll put more into it and use some of those HTML skills to add some pictures and links. Until then. peace
