We want to throw out a huge thanks for all the love and support we get at our shows and on our page here. You guys are the best and I hope we can keep putting out for you for years to come!

Special thanks go out to the Showbox SODO and Ted Walker for having us play this last Friday. Great show, great venue, great bands. Rachelle, Nick & Sara you guys are hardcore for making the trip and anyone else that I'm forgetting that travelled from the far lands to see us. Can't wait to play there again!

Another special thanks to Ray's Golden Lion. We love coming home and you guys always go out of your way for us. We appreciate it from the depths of our bird hearts. Another great night with a great lineup. Nicely done.

Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend to the Wall in White Center. This is an up & coming place that really needs the support of the community to help it survive. It's had a long hard history but it's now under new ownership and the Paul's are giving it a good hard try to bring some live Rock n Roll to the area.

They also do Birthdays!

The after party was a blast as well. Our friends and fans are the best, we love you all!

Viva Ladybird!

Sorry to tease you but it's not "The" video from the video shoot from Ray's. But it is one of our newest songs called Vacant Street from our last Seattle show at The Tractor Tavern. Enjoy...

We would like to thank everyone who attended our show at Rays in RIchland this past Valentines day. It was so nice to see so many friendly faces, and so many new faces in the audience. We sincerely hope you enjoyed our performance and will see us again.

As most of you are aware, we officially released our 3 song ep and filmed video for one of the songs on that ep. We were able to get tons of good footage that was shot during the show, and the many takes we did that afternoon. Zack Boetes helped us out with the backdrop on stage and Kris's dad donated a cooler full of refreshments for everyone. Ed, Chad and Dustin were instrumental in orchestrating this event for us, so a big THANK YOU to those dudes and the Ray's staff for coming in early to help us out.  The filming is being handled by Shane French and Jason Carpenter. Mark Watrous is going to do the editing and direction of the video.  When we have a finished product, we will certainly let all of you know and will post it on our site.

We left the show Saturday night with no cd's left and very few shirts, so thank you to everyone that was able to show support by purchasing our merchandise. Many asked about getting shirts and cd's on our site, and I will tell you we are looking in to how we can accomplish that goal. A special thanks to Jesselyn Hughes and Blake Eastman for handling our merchandise sales that night. They both did a wonderful job.

A special thanks to Rachel Tate. If you have been to Rays, you have seen her take pictures. She takes 700 to 1400 pics at every show and is busy photographing Ladybird and other acts around the northwest. She does this free of charge and is a huge asset to our community. She essentially is responsible for documenting our entire music and art culture. When you see her out, smile for the camera and thank her for the work she does for all of us.
Once again, it was so nice to see all of you Saturday night and look forward to the next one.
With love

Ladybird to spread the love at Ray's on Valentine's
By Bethany Lee, Herald staff writer

For Seattle rock group Ladybird Unition, dropping the latter half of their name represents a new start.

"We dropped the 'Unition' from our name for a few reasons," lead singer Jon Boetes said. "Our fans have always shortened our name to Ladybird anyway and people who are just being introduced to the band always had to ask us to repeat it and then want to know what Unition means. The Unition will live on in the memories of our diehard fans who have been with us all along."

The former local band has been busy playing the Seattle and Portland area. The group is writing new material but are still heavily promoting their self-titled 3-track EP.

"We also have been writing new material that has been very well received by our fans," Boetes said.

This Saturday, fans can watch the bad ass group perform with To the Waves and Mwanza at Ray's Golden Lion in Richland. The $12 cover will not only get fans into the rock spectacle, but also into Ladybird's new music video for their song I'm All In.

"We also have been given the opportunity to film a music video for our song "I'm all in" and will be filming the majority of the live footage at the show at Ray's. The video will be directed by Mark Watrous and shot by Shane French and Jason Carpenter. We chose to capture the live shots in the Tri-Cities because our fans here are so enthusiastic and energetic. Our hometown fans are the best!"

While the guys are exploring their options with record labels, they don't have an immediate future plan except to continue to play for the love of the music and are very excited about what the future holds for their band.

"We would like to thank Ray's Golden Lion for having us back and also for keeping the Tri-City music scene alive," Boetes said. "We would especially like to thank all the Tri-Citians who continue to show us love and support here at home as well as everywhere Ladybird plays. Viva!"

The show begins at 9 p.m. at Ray's Golden Lion in Richland. $12 at the door.

Many thanks to all that came out to the show at El Corazon Friday night. A pleasure none to miss. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you must catch the Pleasure Elite at some point in your stay here on the planet. A great night of love, flesh and things that weird nightmares are made of. We had a great time. Our fans are the best.

Thank You!

The Ladybird Unition are All In

If there ever was a local band that was all in, it would be The Ladybird Unition. Once again they have brought their A-game to their latest self-titled EP.

The adrenaline-packed I'm All In is their first track and appropriately titled. The song is a legal mood elevator and a brilliant summer jam. The band is notorious for creating songs that demand attention and on their new EP, they do not stray from this design.

Lead singer Jon Boetes demonstrates his showmanship through his energy in Ghost of the King. The chorus is catchy without being gimmicky. Playing with different effects, there's a rad electric solo.

Every second on Run Faster Horse is well worth the listen.

The song strays from the band's previous style of fast-paced rhythm, instead opting for a piano-based track (think: The Used in Smother Me).

The song slowly builds with Boetes' vocals slightly masked, giving them a wispy effect. The incorporation of all the instruments at the climax is brilliantly executed.

Despite ditching the fast tempo on this track, Horse doesn't disappoint, and oddly enough, doesn't lose the Unition's trademark style.

Clocking in at just under 12 minutes, their EP is very polished and fans wouldn't expect anything less.

The gentlemen have three additional songs to reveal at their show Saturday, June 28 at Ray's Golden Lion in Richland.

We've been working on new material and had a great writing weekend awhile back that produced 3 new songs, "True Believer", Vacant Street", and "A Reason". We're really trying not to stick with any set parameters or niche and just letting the inspiration flow.  We're pretty happy with the results and I think you all will be pleasantly surprised. We'll be performing them live at our next show at Ray's in the Tri-Cities on June 28th, hope to see you all there!
