First song of our forthcoming album "Here And Now And Long Before" is out there! "The Devil On His Own" is the first single and is available to listen to on all our sites as of now. It's the first track we release with JanPeter (even on pedal steel!). Also recorded with beautiful takes from singer songwriter Stevie Ann on backing vocals...
First try-out at the sold out Merleyn in Nijmegen was the best start we could have wished for. A somewhat surprised but very enthusiastic crowd left us some of the best compliments in our career...
After a year and a half in the making, we can't wait to hear what you think of the new songs, so please drop us a line if you want!

Quite a milestone in The Sheer history, as we announce today that we are no longer a four-piece band. Joining us is amazing guitarist and pedal steel guitar player JanPeter Hoekstra.
Despite being friends we never really got to playing together. After meeting for some pedal steel ideas for the new record though, inspiring moments followed and it became instantly clear he could make a beautiful contribution to the new songs, which he did. He also ended up singing a good deal of backing vocals.
For the last couple of years JanPeter has been playing with Dutch pop group Krezip and he will do the remainder of their gigs until they stop this year.
We'll put up some foto's of the last guitar and vocal recording sessions that we did shortly.
As all recording has been finished last weekend, producer Daniel Presley is currently mixing the record in Paris. We plan to release it end of March, when we will also do the first gigs with the five of us...

We've signed a deal with indie recordlabel Play It Again Sam to get the brand new album released in the Benelux next year. We like their style and the bands they work with, proud being one of them.
Not only have we switched from Universal to [PIAS], since we decided to fund and make the record ourselves, we are actually becoming our own label this time as well! New territory in every way...

After about a year of writing, we're recording in the studio! Not only are we back in Varispeed Studios Sweden, we also teamed-up with our friends from the debut album again, producer Daniel Presley and engineer Doug Cook. This may seem like an identical scenario to the Keyword Is Excitement!, the songs are of a different kind though! We'll post you some new photo's and blogs over the next few days...

We will do one more gig, a Popronde show in De Kroeg in Arnhem, one of the places we used to play some time ago. The last festival stage is already behind us as we're heading for the rehearsal and recording studios the following months to start working on our third album. This being the end of the Feel The Need shows, the band would really like to thank everybody who has supported us over the past tours, you made it happen! We hope to see you all at the dawn of the new release...

Since Yoko Ono donated all rights of John Lennon's songs to Amnesty International, we are closer than ever to the man's genius. We will record a new version of Instant Karma! for a great worldwide project. After Yoko Ono personally approves the recording, it will be available for download to support the Make Some Noise Against Discrimination campaign by Amnesty. Check www.amnesty.nl/in_actie/makesomenoise for more.
