Demi Live @ Sullivan Room - Part 1

Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Massive thank you to The Basic NYC posse for recording my set on this brilliant night I had a few weeks ago in NYC. Been going now for the best part of sevenb years regularly back to that city and it STILL gets me every time :).
Again this is an unusual sudden blitz of mixes from myself so enjoy it while you can because it's back to getting my head DEEEEEEEEP into the forthcoming new SOSage album. Here is the full schedule for the mix in your area. Big respect to the stations for airing this and making sure the producerts whose music I have used also get their due credit in their pockets too.
It's about everyone having the piece of the pie INIT...!!... One love to you all...xx

ELECTRONIC GROOVE - 1OOTH EDITION

Earlier this year, I had spent some time away from the SOSage brigade to record a very personal studio mix which is something I tend to not do.
I'm very happy that EG asked me to be a part of their 100th podcast edition with dear old pal Danny Howells.

http://www.electronicgroove.com/EG100.php

The mix also features a track which was the first vinyl I ever purchased over 13 years ago. What I hadn't realised was I had been playing the main version and had in fact been sitting on the b-side which is a completely different sound and may I add a total BOMB - so let's see if you can work out which track this is. Your clue is it is 13 years old...lol

Mind you that isn't the oldest track in this mix..!! ;)

Expect to be given what you want not necessarily what you expect.

Lov to you all and congratulations to the EG for reaching 100 podcasts.

Recently on my white van journeys to Omid's studio, I discovered a radio station that kept my hand firmly away from the dial (oooo). So much so that I am posting this blog for you all to check this out - London doing it and showing it and staying true to its house roots in all forms. This is a radio station worth checking out whether you are in London on an FM frequency or from the net available to the world.
So much so that I've decided to showcase a preview of Promoods which is a recent studio mix I finished up and will be broadcast this Friday 24th July

Hi everyone,

A few months back, I received some very sad news of an old and dear friend of mine who sadly lost his fight against cancer.

Quite simply, nobody did it better than Jonny and his death was such a shock to my system. I had been working on this mix if truth be told for almost a year and it's only been the past few months with this loss that I felt compelled to finish this.

All of the music selected represents very personal and special moments with the man who only knew how to make you smile. The mix reflects his spirit and appreciation for all style of music, old and new. I thought what with the warmer climates looming upon us that it 'felt right' sharing this with everybody. This was mixed in the old fashioned way using a lot of records and all the efx units at my disposal. A few twists and turns along the way......in some sense what u want and not necessarily what you're going to expect

One lov to you all and see you on the dancefloor again soon....xx

stay tuned for more news to follow

Citizens of earth, children of house and lest forgetting dogman & rye (one day u'll all have a chance to meet these two interesting souls)

I really hope you all have had a decent start to 2009 so far., It has been a difficult financial time of late for so many people but from the feelings I have encountered on most dancefloors during the SOS Balance World Tour last year, it appears nobody has lost the energy and love for the party and long may it continue, RAVE ON PEOPLE. Dance Music came from the underground and has always been about survival rather than the glory.

OK, over the next few weeks I will be drip feeding you with some more news.
They say wintertime is favoured among most music producers and the longer nights definitely favour us insomniacs. But it's time to step out of my nest I've been "nestling" in and share what's brewing with you good people

EP RELEASE: PASS THE SUN

My first release in over three years will be out on March 18th on the excellent Dutchie Music label. The EP is called "PASS THE SUN" and features two tracks called Ether Leak & Space Bass (currently on my myspace player). This was a collaboration with Peter Kriek during my time working with the 16bit Lolitas and had been on the shelf for three years. Ether Leak was used on the 3 hour Essential Mix myself, Omid and Dez put together for Radio One back in 2006. Due to the incredible response from people's messages on hearing the clips here on myspace and with some fierce persuasion from Juan at Dutchie, this will finally see the light of day.

The EP will be available exclusively on Beatport. DEMI - PASS THE SUN E.P (DUTCHIE MUSIC) -

More news to follow - and remember if the spirit is willing......??? I'll leave u to finish the sentence yeah??

one love to all....xxxx

HI everyone, hope you're all keeping fab and well.

I recently was handed back a copy of a recorded set of mine in Toronto last year which I have made available now to download at ur own leisure. As you know I tend to not leak out many recorded sets for a number of reasons which include most of them not being the best recording quality and therefore not enjoying the experience as well as it could be (ie: cd quality) but also, there is no better experience than the real thing.

This boat party really was one of those days where everything clicked. On the back of doing 3 dates in 3 different cities in the US, the final stop was a late morning breakfast visit to a place that has meant a lot to me over the years due to the incredible love and support by many there. After spinning on a bimonthly basis there for over 2 years, this was my only date in Toronto and I wanted it to really be a special occasion for all and fuck me it was. Still have goosebumps when I see some of the youtube clips posted from that day.

Looking forward to doing it all over again this summer.
Anyway without further ado, here is the full mastered CD quality version of CRUISE CONTROL.
