Dear Fans and Friends,
After 8 years together, The XYZ Affair has come to a somewhat strange end. I always figured we would go out with a big bang in some way or another. In truth, I somewhat assumed that our upcoming album might be that big bang: after a lot of years of work and making music together, I wanted this band to make an album that would either push us to the next level or serve as a proud swansong. However, as work on the album progressed, the band process changed. What used to be a steady process by set individuals had now become something more fluid, involving a revolving door of people. I have always put a lot of weight on The XYZ Affair as a BAND. The individual personalities of each band member makes us who we are. To continue calling this entity The XYZ Affair felt wrong on a variety of levels, so we have decided to move on.
The album that I and we have been working on this fall is still going to be released, however it will not be an album by The XYZ Affair, but rather the start of something new. This change of course will probably delay things by a month or two, but keep your eyes and ears peeled for details of what’s to come. A lot of hard work has been put into these songs and I am beyond excited to get them out there for everybody to hear.
On a final and very important note: thank you. We have been doing this a LONG time and you guys have been amazing throughout. We’ve developed a serious XYZ family over the years who have put a lot into supporting us, and we can’t thank you enough for how awesome that has felt. It quite literally would have been impossible for us to maintain this for as long as we have if it weren’t for you guys.

Wow we haven't written one of these in a while, but big news calls for big actions.  More details will come soon, but May is going to be an awesome month.  We'll be releasing a few new songs that we've been working on for the last few months, and to celebrate their release we're having a 3 week residency at Piano's in Manhattan, sponsored by our friends at Oh My Rockness.  There are going to be a bunch of awesome bands playing with us, we'll be playing some new songs, we'll be playing with our new "revolving door of awesome drummers" approach, and in general we're just excited. 

We'll post more details shortly, but for now mark your calendars!  It'll be three Mondays in May: May 11, May 18, and May 25.  $5 doors.

We'll also be hitting up the Northeast hard all summer long, so if you're in Boston, DC, NY, and Philly, you'll be seeing a lot of us.  Check back here or at www.thexyzaffair.com for updates frequently, as there will be many!

Hey everybody! Our apologies to anybody who received a comment from our account about the Kardashian sex tape. In reality, we meant to post a comment about a CARDASSIAN sex tape. Oops! (to anybody whose head that went over, which should hopefully be everybody, google Cardassian to find out just how much of a loser I am).

After almost two months of fasting, meditation, and editing through telepathy, the 5 minute long music video for "All My Friends" is days away from knocking at your door and thoroughly kicking your ass.

OhMyRockness and Insound have had some nice things to say about us in the past couple of weeks (Check out our press section). We like them a lot.

Other than that we've been holed up eating banana, fluffer-nutter, bacon sandwiches and working on some new songs to unleash this summer.

Oh, and Bones got a haircut.
