Hey folx Just a quick heads up that I have a quick run of east coast Canadian shows from the 17th to the 20th of November.Intimate rooms as I am going to be trying out new tunes and getting into playing live again after a rather laid back year making my record in California. I promise to hit the rest of Canada very soon-I have not forgotten you. I am off to bed now.I just played some shows in Russia -always a blast, but somehow eating and sleeping don't seem to figure into Russian tours.Time to sleep for a week. Bye for now y PS:the new tunes are done-just a bit of mixing and mastering to finish everything up

Hey fellas and fellanettes Just got back from the Burning Man festival out in the Nevada desert and i thought I would post something about it.I have been wanting to go for years and finally was able to make it happen and it way exceeded my expectations. If you don't know about it,basically, a city of population 50 000 is built in a remote part of the desert in about a week and after the festival no trace is left of it.There is no cellphone reception,no internet and no money.Everything is a gift,so you walk or ride around on a bicycle and people give you food, water, show you crazy art installations and futuristic inventions. The day is tough to survive-there are all sorts of events going on in the day,but the heat and dust storms are fierce. The nighttime really comes alive with about fifty different parties situated all around the desert camp, performance art, remote controlled giant robot spiders (seriously),crazy post apocalyptic watering holes, moving parties as well:I was on a bus decked out to look like a luminous pirate ship, with a dj on the deck. There is far too much to do and see.
The people are wonderful-there is no aggression and everyone is there to help everyone else, and to create.A little example of what a utopian society would be like. I met so many creative inspiring eccentric people,i feel pretty good about the human race right now.I had to leave a day early to get back to the studio in time, but next year i hope to do the whole thing. Anyhow,I am off to write the last tune for my new record now...wish me luck. Much love y.

Greetings once again, friends. A very quick update:I am just about halfway through the new record and having an absolute blast making it in California with my esteemed colleague Joey Waronker (Beck,Air,REM etc etc). Thus far,I am absolutely delighted with the sounds we are making and I think you will be too.Got some running back and forth to Europe in the next few weeks for festivals, but if we continue at this cracking pace,we will have a record ready faster than I ever dreamed, some time in the fall (or autumn as I used to say). The next scary thing is going to be figuring out the new songs live.I will have to find some new toys for my guitar and voice perhaps, maybe some other players...not quite sure yet. Anyway-I hope this finds you well. Much love to you all y.

Greetings friends...guys and girls I realize I haven't connected with you as much as I should have this past year and one of my resolutions is to let you know more of what's up,where I am in the world and my slightly weird view of things more often. This last year has been the most testing and bizarre year of my life so far.I am quite surprised that I survived it.I find myself now ,after hundreds of performances, zero sleep, scores of flights, untold pressures,joys,frustrations...back in Cape Town under the mountain in the African sunshine, just a few tunes away from finishing writing my next record. I gave up my London apartment a few months back,so I have been homeless on the road for the past while. I have learned a shitload that I thought I already knew-it was a real kick in the pants to see how this little record that I made for no money with my guitar,my voice and my words, got twisted into corporate interests -and if not for a great deal of good fortune in several countries and for a wonderful word of mouth buzz from all of you ,it would never have seen the light of day. But anyways, onwards now...So many new realizations and a fair bunch of personal heartbreak this last year, which truly sucked, but has inspired some new songs which I can't wait to show you (soon,soon-I will start recording in early '09) and the live show is going to be kicking up a few levels too. All my thanks and love to all of you for your love and support and for spreading the word across the planet and for being so much fun to play to.If I didn't get to your part of the world,or didn't get there enough,I will do my best to fix that next time round.Let me know and I will keep nagging my labels about it. You're giving me an amazing inspiring life that has seen me slamming Beautiful Lie with Underworld at the Roundhouse in London, jamming at Coachella in the California desert, dodging Russian mafia in St Petersburg, checking out potent visionary drugs with a shaman from the deepest Amazon...and so on and so forth... Happy New Year and see you in '09 Yoav

I am not the father of 2.3 And I am still burning to be free No more days no longer drug my way Through the numbered hours at the end of the day What's become of you,What's become of me Swore we'd never belong to not be alone What's become of me,What's become of you Our faces set as our hearts start turning to stone
One by one by one Each like the other
And I do not dream of drifting away On the boat that we made with our hard-earned pain And I do not need a leash or a tie To lead me astray in the land where dreams die Workaday in,Workaday out It's been this way for as long as we can recall Workaday out,Workaday in Gone are the days when we'd wonder what we've come here for
One by one by one We come One by one by one We go each like the other one
Become each like the other Become each like the other Become each like the other one
One by one by one We come One by one by one We go each like the other one One by one by one We have come One by one by one We go each like the otherne
