THANK YOU! Hi
Everyone! The band and I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all
those who came to our headline show at the Captain's Rest last week. We
hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! The following
night we played in Bathgate which was quite possibly one of the most
bizarre gigs any of us have ever played. To find out why, check out our
first Scottish Tour Video Diary :) NEXT FULL BAND GLASGOW SHOW We have been asked to support the phenomenal Ray Summers
next Friday 13th of November at the Oran Mor. Also supporting are the
terrific Tango in the Attic. Tickets are £6 and can be purchased from
me or online by clicking here! Thanks, Alan

Hi
All! Things have been pretty exciting over the past
couple of weeks as well as some very cool stuff coming up! So here's a
wee update :)
Recently
I played in George Square, Glasgow at the Scotcampus Freshers'
Festival. The gig went well and BBC Radio Scotland man Jim Gellatly
featured me in his top 10 favourites of the festival...which was nice!
To hear the online show, go
here (i'm on about 32mins in).
You may have also noticed several full band Scottish dates recently
added to my gig listings. These shows will be to promote the release
of...wait for it......my FORTHCOMING
EP!!! I'll be heading into the
studio with the band next week to record it and I honestly can't wait!
Details of where and how you'll be able to get a copy will be available
over the next few weeks.
And speaking of Scottish dates, yes there are still some tickets left
for my full band headline show at the Captain's Rest on Friday 30th October!
As I'm sure you already know, tickets to this gig are only available online
and you can get yours by clicking on the poster below!
Please feel free to
Hopefully see you at one of the Scottish
shows!
Thanks,
Alan

I've put three new songs on my MySpace page. The track called 'Stornoway'
was written about a disaster which occurred in Stornoway in 1919. A
ship returning to the harbour a couple of hours into the New Year with
troops returning from the war (most of whom couldn't swim), sadly hit
some rocks during a terrible storm and sank just yards from the pier.
Particularly horrific as their loved ones, who they hadn't seen in
years were standing helpless as they watched them drown. For the full
story, click here. The other tracks, 'Unstoppable' and 'Miles From Myself' are just wee home recordings I did in my bedroom but I hope you like them. [CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO THE NEW SONGS] Take it easy, Alan

Thank you... On
Saturday 15th August I played at the 3 Sisters in Edinburgh. What an
experience this was, I honestly loved it. Believe it or not, Chris
Buckle, the man who wrote the Skinny review
was actually there!! I'd like to thank him for coming, it really meant
a lot. But more importantly, I'd like to thank everyone else who came
to the gig and made it as special as it was. You've no idea how
phenomenal a feeling it is to see you all having a good time whilst I'm
playing. It keeps me going. Particularly loved the 'Stop! Right!
There!' collaboration at the end, wicked!!! I've since been
contacted by the manager of the 3 Sisters and asked to play there
again, only this time in the beer garden outside. The gig will take
place this Sunday 23rd August at 6pm, and is FREE ENTRY.
Gig with Mike from PassengerI'm pleased to say I'll be playing a solo gig at Pivo Pivo, Glasgow alongside Mike Rosenberg from Passenger. The gig will be on Wednesday 2nd September, entry is £3 at the door - first come, first served!! Hope you can make it!!
FULL BAND HEADLINE SHOW!!! As some of you may already know, I recently confirmed my first ever full band headline show! The gig will be at the Captain's Rest on Friday 30th October. Support comes from Scottish singer/songwriter's Tragic O'Hara and Rebecca Pollock. Tickets will be £6 and details of where to buy them will be available shortly!
Take it easy, Alan

Hi Everyone, Got some interesting info. in this blog, please read on to find out more! Edinburgh Festival Gig @ The 3 Sisters On Saturday 15th August
I'll be playing at The 3 Sisters in Edinburgh. There will be an 85
seater coach leaving from Abercorn Street, Paisley at 12 noon and
picking everyone up in Edinburgh at 1am. Tickets are only £10 and this
includes your return bus journey plus entry to the gig, not bad at all
really!! To secure a place, please get your tenners to me as soon as
possible. You can also get money to any of the following acts, who are
also playing. These are; John Rush, Scott MacFarlane, Gavin Morris, The Love Hats & Stylus Automatic.
Other people you can book tickets from are Drew McOrmack & Craig
Corbett. I've been on these trips a few times now and trust me when I
say, they are an absolute RIOT!!!! Recent Co-writing Adventures Those
of you who saw my online status updates will probably already know
this, but last week I ventured down to London. This was partly to meet
with my Publisher but also to write with a couple of great people. The
first was Calum MacColl (the late Kirsty MacColl's brother) and the second was a guy from LA called Ken Rose . Both of which seemed to go very well with a couple of new songs being penned in the process! BAD Review From The Skinny Recently
I sent out some demos to various members of the press in order to
hopefully get them along to my last full band King Tuts gig. One of which being
the music paper, The Skinny. I didn't think they'd actually review the
demo! This was a shame as it's a recording I did a couple of years ago,
and one which I'm not particularly proud of but it was the only full band demo I had . In that respect, I
actually agree with most of what the critic says. HOWEVER,
the first two comments to follow the review were slightly nasty and I
thought I'd let you all know so you can check it out for yourself. You
don't need to register to comment so please feel free to add your own
opinion! As you will see, there are already quite a few comments which
are pretty funny indeed. Thanks to those who've responded already! To see my RUBBISH review, go HERE lol. Take it easy, Alan
