Sue and I were interviewed by Paul Davison for The Roy Harper Podcast in February 2008 and the first part was released in April 2008 and the second in June 2008.
We discuss our love of his music, how we got into him, how we came to promote gigs for Roy and Nick Harper in Brighton and some of the stories that came out of that period; as well as the state of the music industry, what the future may bring from Roy and a short chat about Dave's sci fi writing.
Just click on the image below and scroll to Episode 8 for the first part and Episode 10 for the second.

I was interviewed by J.L. Johnson (Mistress Rell) for The Enchanted Element towards the end of 2007 and it has appeared on their website – January 2008. I really enjoyed doing the interview and they've done a great job on its presentation.
To access the interview click on my picture below, then look to the left of The Enchanted Element home page and click on the "Literature" section. You can then access the interview from that page. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Test Drive has been published and is now available to buy from Lulu.
I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out and all of the profits will be going to WWF - The World Wide Fund for Nature.
If you have any friends into sci-fi please let them know about the book.
All the best,
DJ Burnham
The World Wide Fund for Nature conserves endangered species, protects endangered spaces and addresses global environmental threats to our planet. At the author's request all profits from the sales of 'Test Drive' will be donated directly to this wonderful organisation, so please spread the word. Click on the image below to take you to the book Many thanks DJ Burnham

The Literary Bone Summer 2007 Vol. #1, Issue #1 (Available from Lulu.com)
This is a short review of the wide range of delights to be discovered between the covers of the first issue of The Literary Bone (Available from Lulu.com)
"The Dangers of Smoking" is very timely (with a ban on smoking in public places coming into place on 1st July in the UK) and has a neat twist. I assume enforcement won't be quite so harsh for offenders to the new legislation in the UK (grin).
"Stray" contains the wonderful line: … spaghetti straps that roped their flimsy way over her shoulders like the corded lifelines of lonely mountaineers. Wonderful. "The Boots" is reminiscent of Gollum and his "Precious", spookily updated.
"The Vampire Hunter's Tale is a beautifully evocative piece, thought-provoking in its brevity.
"Awaking" sheds veils of innocence while layering painful reality.
Brendan Connell's tales left me pondering morality in obsessive states, when seen from another man's perspective.
"Photo Finish" reminded me of a period in my own life – some fifteen years ago – when I had a doppelganger in my hometown of Brighton. People refused to believe that I wasn't him and when I grew a beard…apparently so did he. Never got to meet him though.
"Into The Past" is gently disorienting and scary, leaves you wondering.
"God's Patience Abused" is a superbly written catalogue of revealed truths, perfectly sprinkled with period detail and rounded off by an answer to a childhood future-echo.
Kristine Ong Muslim drops the reader straight into bizarre, unrecognisable, challenging worlds; intriguing little stories which explode into life.
"Looking For Elves" is a comedic account of unbridled misadventure set against a wonderfully poetic backdrop of Icelandic vistas and cultural oddities.
I especially enjoyed "A Lack of Signs", a Pandora's box of possibilities and wish fulfilment.
With PS Gifford you never end up quite where you think you're going, but it's always a fascinating journey.
Faye Sizemore has the gift of being able to make a snapshot bloom with the perfect balance of detail, plot and originality.
"The Song of the Sword" has the feel of an Arthurian fable in the making and a delightfully synergistic conclusion.
"Destination Earth" is right up my street, with hints of Robert Sheckley coupled with a dash of Dickian paranoia, great stuff.
"Trust Me" draws you into a Catch 22 of doubt and temptation, as undercurrents of obsessive psychosis play against the possibility of hidden truth.
Andrew Hook addresses a classic sci fi concept with a refreshingly new approach, presenting the reader with an unnervingly plausible explanation – part philosophical, part scientific; excellent.
Steve Redwood's take escalates a potentially insignificant irritation into a full-blown vendetta, exploiting potential truths that lurk in most of us, but he takes it way beyond reasonable behaviour. (For me it's not being able to park outside my own house most nights…)
I found "Flowers for my Beloved" a really moving story of unrequited love, magnified by selflessness and devotion, an allegory for inter-racial soul mates, beauty from sadness.
To turn a usually ephemeral and celebrated meteorological event into an encroaching horror takes some doing, but Hivner pulls it off.
DJ Burnham (March 2007)
((I hade been toying with the idea of a Life Bank for some time. A trip to Varanasi in Northern India provided me with both the environment for the story, set in Thriskia on planet Pruttarn, and a cultural insight that would be the starting point on which I built the concept.)
