Current mood:  aroused
Things are going well in the lifeplace. I have recently moved to Iowa City. It is a fine city. I've been playing with an as-yet-unnamed backing band. Sounds nice. I recorded another Daytrotter session which will be posted on daytrotter.com someday. I'm looking to play some more shows in the midwest in the near future. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears (or eyes). I hope your brains are fit and your souls are hungry this holiday season.
Love,
Brooks.

"The Misanthrope and his Doubtful Faith" is temporarily unavailable. There are still copies for sale of my latest record, "Dead Animals". You can buy them at my shows or at Mohair Pear in Cedar Falls, IA. I'm working on getting them on itunes. I'm also looking for a label to re-release those first two records on compact disc or (preferably) vinyl.
Also, I just finished recording an as yet untitled new album, co-produced, engineered and mixed by Paleo. I'm really happy with it and it should be released by somebody in early 2010.
If you ordered "The Misanthrope and his Doubtful Faith" and did not receive it, send me a message and I will send you some things. I'm really sorry, but I haven't really had my shit together for a while now. Things are turning around and I'm starting to actually get some things done.
I will be doing a Brooks Strause and the Intrusions album in the near future. Expect to hear some Intrusions recordings soon.
May you live in interesting times, I do.

I should have said something sooner, it's been up there for a couple months now.

I recently self-released my album, The Misanthrope and his Doubtful Faith on cd.  They are available to purchase at my shows. Check the blog titled "compact discs" to order one. Thanks to my friends and family who played on it, Chris Brown, Landon Strause, Adam Bolts, and Jack Christensen from the Beat Strings, Molly McIntosh from Below the Salt, and Rebecca Strause and Jason Salek from Old Scratch. And a huge thanks to Landon and Chris for their studios, time, and talent.
