It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as days roll off the calendar before the big day with Mavs fans hoping the perfect Christmas gift from their team will be a loss-free week to close out 2009. The only things standing in the way of this most desirable fan wish are Portland, Memphis, Denver and Houston, all of which are frothing at the mouths to shut down the Dallas team who seems to be white hot after winning 4 of the last 5 games.
Against King James and crew Sunday, Mavs were without their big German for the first time of the season as he recovered from his souvenir Landry teeth lashing in the Houston game. The teeth inevitably have a calling for the ebay collector junkies out there looking to get their special piece of sports memorabilia but Dirk isn't letting them stand in his way anymore instead on the early active roster for tonight.
While his status is questionable until this afternoon when an official ....Click Here For Full Story

The Rockettes were in town last week and this week the Rockets are coming to Dallas as tonight the Mavs will meet the Houston team for the second showdown of the season looking to send them back south after a second loss. Game tip will be at 7:30 with broadcast on TXA21 with those listening in their cars tuning into ESPN 103.3 FM and KFLC 1270 AM for Spanish broadcast.
Rewind Time - Two games in November with two wins for the Mavs as on November 10th Dallas kept the 121-103 win at home despite Houston leading early in play 56-39. It was at that....Click Here For Full Story

Rack 'em up and let's try this again tonight in Dallas against the New Orleans Hornets, it is time for round 2. You better believe that since the overtime loss on November 4th that a lot of emphasis has been made on free throws for Dallas and with just cause after both Jason Terry and JJ Barea struggled from the line late in regulation and allowed the door to open for the Hornets on home court to clean up in overtime.
Since that time the Mavs have risen to the top of the leader boards from the stripe shooting 80.5% for 3rd in the league. But before getting overly confident, this stat is based on 553 shots from the line during a 24 game season, so 3 shots wouldn't even show a dimple on that record. The key tonight will be making sure that first and foremost it does not come down to a charity stripe shot again, but if it should then the Mavs must be clutch and smart, take what they have as one of their top strengths and capitalize.
To the defense of the Mavs, last game they did have to bench Dirk Nowitzki following his fouling out after only 12 points. It was a low moment for the team as they led by a narrow margin with the Hornets buzzing around them up until the final seconds. Up 97-94 with 13.1 to go, Peja Stajakovic....Click Here For Full Story

Following the Saturday night thriller in Dallas before a packed house of fans and a special group of troops it only seems right to kick off a new week with a Sunday Stat Stack like none other. Just before embarking on another busy schedule week for the Mavs with both New Orleans and Houston at home and Oklahoma City on the road let's break down where the Mavs stand in a league filled with big personalities, high scoring and buzzer beating shots.
The charity stripe is one of the Mavs strengths to say the least as they have found a way to create plays that draw all the fouls for a total of 553 shots thus far this season. For their abilities they are 3rd in the NBA from the line at 80.5% led right now by Dirk Nowitzki with 173 of his 195 shots from the line.
The name Jason Kidd and the word assists are one in the same in Dallas as proved by his 215 dimes this season. Not a surprise with those numbers that Dallas ranks 5th in the league with an averaged 23.29 assists per game.
A big change in Big D this season is the added defense. Emphasis....Click Here For Full Story

While most of us are chilling quite literally in Texas the Mavs have been enjoying the 80 degree temps in Miami preparing for tonight's game against the Heat where they look to take away the white hot heat and bring a little home for a back to back tomorrow night.
Watch It, Listen, Love Those Mavs Tonight - Watch at home on FSSW or listen on SEPN 103.3 FM or KFLC 1270 AM for Spanish broadcast. Tip off is at 6:30 CT in American Airlines Arena in Miami.
Boy Have We Come A Long Way - Remember that finals series against the Heat? Well a lot has changed since then as the one run hope playoff team in Miami has all but faded away and turned into .... Click here For Full Story

The broken tables have been cleared from the AAC, Mark Cuban seems to be on the mend and the handful of players which attended last nights episode of RAW are fully in tact so let the games begin as the 14-7 Mavs watch the Suns set in the distance tonight and take the heat out of the 15-6 Suns.
Dirk The Dynamic - 21 games in Dirk has 561 points to trail only Carmelo Anthony with 608 in the early season. He has the NBA's 6th highest scoring average and already has claimed 6 30 or more point games this season.
Flapping The Wing - Mavs have been wounded at the wing position to the point that it is all sports journalist seem to be talking about in the absence of Josh Howard and Quinton Ross. As a result the...Click Here For Full Story

After the Mavs started off in full control of the game, garnering 30 first quarter points, the tides turned against Dallas on the road as the Memphis Grizzlies continually slowed the roll of the Mavs.
Rookie, Rodrigue Beaubois headed the early efforts by the Mavs as he jump started the Mavs with his adreniline to 9 early points to lead after one. Tim Thomas, off the bench put his wheels in motion as well as he recorded his first and only 6 of the game in the opening frame.
With the beginning of the second The Mavs were putting together plays but they....Click Here For Full Story

I think it was put best by Kris Humphries yesterday on his twitter (@KrisHumphries) when he said "Can't be their first. Let's get it done tomorrow." It is very much so the tone which sets this game in motion tonight pairing the Dallas Mavericks with the winless New Jersey Nets. Dallas is 13-5, New Jersey is slightly less with 0-17 and the game looks to record another chapter in history as the Mavs extend the streak of losses for the Nets tonight.
Typically you are talking win streaks, but but like the elephant in the room no one ever wants to talk about continuous losses, for that reason it is with grim hope that local media hyped .... Click Here To Read Full Story

Following the tough loss in Cleveland the Mavs return to Dallas to begin what they hope will be another run as they take on the 5-11 Philadelphia 76ers tonight at 7:30 at the AAC. So what does that mean for the Sixers? Well more than likely it will mean a very frustrating road trip as they sit and ponder just what sleeping giant was awaken by King James in Cleveland.
What's In A Name? - Typically we don't go into the history of a team when doing pre-games...Click Here For Full Story

Dallas looks to wrap three on the road tonight as they hope to take it to 3-0 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following their 113-92 win over the Pacers and the 130-99 win over the Rockets the Mavs are primed for the battle against the 11-5 Cavs tonight at the Quicken Loans Arena.
It's Looking Like Dirk Thirty - Against the Pacers Dirk moved to his 5th....Click Here For Full Story
