Apparently after falling to Dallas the Lakers were on a mission to never face the same embarrassment again, as a result they have pulled 5 in a row to ascend the leader boards and surpass the Dallas Mavericks, making the miraculous win in LA a distant memory to all in the NBA, aside from Dallas fans of course. So you might be scratching your head and asking where does that put Dallas in the mix this week as the standings are handed down?

Stamina was the key to the game as the Mavs traveled to LA for the first of two in a back to back. Against the reigning World Champions it would be a foot race to the very end as Dallas kept their run and gun going strong throughout the night and powered through Kobe and crew to a 94 - 80 victory.

Last year at this time it was being made official that Dallas would host the 2010 NBA All-Stars as Mavs owner, Mark Cuban and Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones converged with dozens of media during a press conference outside the AAC for the big announcement. Boasting "everything is bigger in Texas" they concluded that the 59th All-Star event would facilitate some 80,000 fans and would be held at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
