Also, they just announced Annie and her song "the birds of the air" as the winners of their Summer Song contest! Awesome!

just a quick note to say i am safe and sound in malpais, costa rica ( my lovely home-away-from-home-away-from-home), enjoying the warm water, the perfectly timed surf swell (thank you, new moon!), riding around the dirt roads on atv's, throwing the rock with loa at the beach, enjoying new and old friends, surfing like a water nymph, strumming my guitar, and eating ridiculous quantities of papaya and bananas....ahhh pura vida...

i'll be back mid april in california before returning to portland. so keep your eyes open for some new shows popping up.

it's been lovely to be back in southern california for a bit, and i got the chance to play my favorite san diego venue a couple nights ago....i wish you could have been there.

but never you fear: they recorded the show, and it turned out pretty good, so i'd love to share it with you...and the worlllllllld!

i can probably send out about 10-15 copies before i leave for costa rica on tuesday, so if you'd like one, send me a line with your address and your plan for spreading it around while i'm in the land of coconuts. you can feel free to burn it, give it to friends, put it in super belated christmas stockings, gift it to your mom for her birthday, send it to local radio stations or your favorite music magazines....whatever your super-smart-ambitious-creative self can come up with.

i couldn't be more excited to be back in my homeland for a very sunny holiday. i am thoroughly enjoying running around barefoot in my parent's backyward, picking oranges off of the trees and practicing handstands. i forgot how WARM it is here!
