The U.V. Race  Malaria 7" (S.S.) $4
In the beginning, the U.V. Race was the product of two rural Australians' imagination. Throughout high school, Al & Marcus had the band but no sound. A few years go by and Al moves to Melbourne and joins Straight Jacket Nation with Daniel - they play speedy hardcore. Marcus moves to Melbourne and with his pal Al, Daniel, Moses and Emily, U.V. Race made some noise. After some playing around, they released a great single on Aarght! Records and a split tape with pals Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Enter S.S. Records and this new record, Malaria, the U.V. Race's second record. Four songs long, the UVs take their influences (X, Cramps, Electric Eels, VU, etc.) and smash them into something punk-like, spontaneous and fucking great. Captured on tape by Eddy Current guitarist Mikey Young, 'tis will please fans of their first and give those who haven't tapped into the new Melbourne DIY scene, a reason to dig further.

Two new releases. Ordering information (and other titles at) S.S. Records  Prices do not include post.

Los Llamarada  Take the Sky LP $10
It has been almost a couple years since Los Llamarada took the world by surprise with their much raved about vinyl debut "The Exploding Now!" Monterrey, Mexico's premier underground band's claustrophobic psych punk won praises from everybody from Siltbreeze's Tom Lax to Z Gun's Ryan Wells. "When's the next record?" has rung in my ears for the last year. Well, now it is here! "Take the Sky" was originally slated for a February release, we held off on putting it out until we built this into one serious killer. While some of the murk of the first is gone (don't worry it still as an eerie lo-fi sound), it has been replaced by sharp psych stun guitar which will make your jaw drop. I've previewed this for a few people (Rick Ele, Ryan Wells to name two) and everyone has walked away amazed. To quote Rick Ele: "Damn." Of course, I am biased, but this is a great record... Transparent From "Take the Sky"

Lamps  Songs of Sexual Frustration 7"  $4
There are a handful of bands that reside on other labels who I've wanted to do a record with. But I am a polite bastard and don't like to muscle in on other label's bands. So when Monty Buckles emailed me and asked if I wanted to do a Lamps single, I said "YES!" LA's Lamps have done two great albums and a handful of singles that have established them as one of the most consistently good bands going. Songs of Sexual Frustration will do nothing to break the Lamps' stride. Here they throw primitive fudge on songs by Devo and the Pissed Jeans, fucking them with a gimpy, grimy shuffle. 600 pressed.

Los Llamarada  The Exploding Now!  LP $10
Very, very happy to announce that we have repressed Los LLamarada's stunning debut, 8 noisy missives from the lo-fi depths of chaos and madness. Recorded live and straight to cassette tape.  Doug Mosurak of Dusted called it  "One of the most shocking and unique pieces of agitpunk since the Meta-Matics LP, but way more devastated and angered." Victim of Time said "Los Llamarada bend their minds and instruments in such an evil, earthy fashion that your own sober mental state grows instantly muddled and disoriented with each passing track."

Two new S.S. titles. Descriptions below. Prices are not postpaid. Other stuff at S.S. Records site.

Do not PM me about these. Email me at ss @ s-srecords . com

Krysmopompas Heute Schlafen-Morgan Aufwachen 2LP (S.S.) $15
We are proud to announce the vinyl debut of the Berlin-based
four-piece Krysmopompas. Not only does their name comes from the
mysterious terrorist group featured in the German sci fi/trash film
"Kamikaze 1989" (starring Rainer Werner Fassbinder), but so does their
sound. They are influenced by Fassbinder's ideas the writers
Rolf-Dieter Brinkmann & Eugene Ionesco, and the music of Neue Deutsche
Welle bands such as EA-80, Fehlfarben, and Freiwillige
Selbstkontrolle, classic Krautrock like Neu and Can, as well as Wire,
The Units, and Devo. Since 2004, they've played a number of live show
and released two limited edition CDs - Mitmachen beim Abbauen (2006),
followed by Mehr Kilometer pro Leben (2007). We liked the CDs a lot
and, when they went instantly out of print, convinced our Berlin
buddies to let us put them on vinyl. And so we have "Heute Schlafen -
Morgan Aufwachen", a double album of neo-NDW sounds. The foundation is
a Wire like simplicity but throughout the records you hear all the
groups mentioned above. Yann and Felix both take up the vocals, cool
German poetically intoned over their post-post sound. We are excited
to introduce the world to Krysmopompas. Heute Schlafen - Morgan
Aufwachen is a double album. The pressing is 600.

Wounded Lion  Carol Cloud 7" (S.S.) $4
Los Angeles gets a bad rap. Through our TV sets, we know it as a city
of shallow glitter, brutal cops, and urban unrest, and, sure, there is
that, but there are also lots of everyday folks, living unpretentious
everyday lives. We also forget that Los Angeles has had a very healthy
underground music scene, as it does today. Take the everyday folks and
drop them into an underground scene and you get something like Wounded
Lion, a great no-frills pop band who sounds fresh, even when they
remind one of classic American power pop of the 70s. Inspired by The
Amps, The Cramps, The Clean, and The Vaselines (as well as Credence
Clearwater Revival and Kleenex), Wounded Lion can regularly be scene
in LA haunts such as Mr T's Bowl, The Smell, The Scene, and Spaceland.
And now you get to hear them here, on their recording debut. The songs
"Carol Cloud" and "Pony People" are two great poppers, hum-inducing,
toe-tapping tunes which will wiggle their way into your brain and have
you singing their choruses while at the grocery store or waiting in
line at the DMV. This is perfect pop for the dying days of summer and
the start of a new school year. Wounded Lion! 600 pressed. Check out
the video for "Pony People" on  S.S. myspace front page.

Billy Bao  Fuck Separation 10" (S-S) $10 new

Don't tell the INS, but Billy Bao is here. These internationalists destroy all boarders with the grinding bludgeon of pummeling sound. Two lonnnnnnggggg songs churn relentless riffs into wretched pounding and go back. Sub-metal, dirt dirge primitivism that attacks the shit nation state.  Embrace the degeneration of rock & roll! Fans of Brainbombs, Stickmen with Rayguns, Pissed Jeans, Drunk with Guns, etc. take note. White vinyl. Screened sleeves.
