Campout Roots Thank You

Campout Roots 2009 was a huge success and the overwhelming support we received was amazing. We have so many great memories from this year’s festival and we would like to thank all of you for sharing that experience with us. Everyone from the bands, to fans, to everyone behind the scenes, all the hard work this year made a huge difference and we thank you.

This year proved to be an awesome combination of music, community, and celebration. The creation station was a big hit and we wanted to thank that whole crew for pulling all of it together! The family activities this year were great and a big thank you goes out to all the people that helped make that happen. A big thank you also goes out to everyone that helped with the weekend activities.

The Live art on stage was so exciting to see, we hoped you all enjoyed it. There were so many great sets this weekend we were truly blessed to have so many friends join us including Down Lo, Pert Near, Trampled, the DeWayns, Charlie Parr, Useful Jenkins, Oakhurst, and all of the other truly talented artists that give Campout Roots the reputation that it has.

Please join in our photo contest and send us your best pictures to be entered into a drawing for cool Campout prizes!

Moving forward, The Fall Roots and Grass Festival has been postponed indefinitely for 2009. We are hopeful about future plans. For reasons outside our control the decision was made to postpone the event in the best interests of the festival and the community members that support Campout Roots. We are looking forward to 2010 for our ten year anniversary and hope you plan to join us for the celebration! We will post more information as it becomes available.

Bring a Song. Bring a Friend. These 3 nights will never end.

Bring down 5 food items or donate 5 dollars and win Campout Prizes.

All donations will go to Feed My People Food Bank, a food bank that supports 14 counties in Western Wisconsin. FMP serves as a partner distribution outlet for Second Harvest Heartland in St. Paul, Minnesota and has a rich 26 year history.

Doing "good" is something to get excited about because in doing so you are making the world a better place. All too often I think folks get caught up in this idea that doing "good" is some abstract, grandiose concept, when in fact I argue that it is not. Doing good can be very simple thing such as purchasing a few non-perishable food items or volunteering some of your time to a community service.

Sunday night there were many people showing just how easy it is to do good for our community. Because of the efforts of so many people, the Feed My People Food Bank received 245 lbs of donated food and $68.00 of donation money. Campout Roots, Down Lo, The MouseTrap, WHYS Radio, the WI-EC Benefit holders Association, and many other area businesses (The Plaza Hotel, Best Western, Grengs Family and Micon Theaters, Artisan Tattoo, Skin Prints, McDonalds, Truckers Union, and Jay S' glass donations), were proud to be a part of this annual event. We increased our food donations by roughly 145lbs and almost $40.00 in door donations from last year's fall event.

We all possess A GREAT CAPCITY FOR DOING "GOOD" and the ability to make change in our world regardless of the impact. It is almost something that is an inherent component of the human condition. I encourage everyone to not lose sight of this in your everyday lives. I know helping people makes me feel good and I am sure it is the same for many of you.

Thank you so much! Your contribution will not go unnoticed to those in need,
Zacharious
