Sunday I heard a soul stirring, riveting message from Pastor. Dr. Milton Biggham titled, "How to Live your Best When things are at their Worst." The subtitle was, "What to do when you don't know what to do..." His text came from the following passages of scriptures:

Psalm 37:1
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

Isaiah 41:10
10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Luke 18:1
1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Psalm 103:2
2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

From this message Pastor Biggham reminded us of 4 Things NOT to do while living our best while at our worst:

1. Fret NOT
2. Fear NOT
3. Faint NOT
4. Forget NOT

So if you are in a season where things are not so great and you are in the midst of struggle while waiting on the promise remember to Fret Not; God is one your side. Fear not; God is your protector and shield. Faint not; because the joy of the Lord is your strength. And Forget not; because the same God that brought you out yesterday is well able to deliver you today!

Hello my friend,

I am so grateful for the honor and privilege it is to write to you. Thank you SO much for taking a few moments to read my thoughts as well as the latest developments in the world of Gospel.

Yesterday, I came across a passage of scripture that really blessed me. I want to share it with you as well as get your thoughts on the verse. Romans 8:18 says, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."

Jesus also said these words, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Beloved, don't think it strange the test and trials that come your way. They are designed to make you better, stronger and wiser for the "glory" that is ahead.

Farther down from the original verse I shared with you, these words are written: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Remember, like my friend and brother VaShawn Mitchell constantly reminds me, "What's to Come is Better than what's Been!"

Current mood:  contemplative
Category: Blogging
Hi my friend,

WARNING! This will be a rather personal note today. But we have been connected long enough, so I believe I can be transparent. I hope you don't mind.

As you know, I have been here on the East Coast in New Jersey for just about a month. I must openly and honestly say it has been an exciting yet contemplative spiritual journey.

I will also say that I have been having a bit of a personal struggle. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I heard the Voice of God tell me to "pitch my tent" here.

Before I tell you more about my personal struggle, let me pause and give you an important life lesson. "God often speaks to us first in a whisper. Better stated, God speaks to our spirit most in a still small voice. And the majority of the time, He only speaks in short, concise phrases." (More on this in a later note....)

Now back to my personal struggle. I have been called to the ministry of evangelism through edification, exhortation and encouragement. My mission in life is to share with all humanity the "Good News" of God's great Love through the person of Jesus Christ.

I have been struggling with the method in which I should do that best. For years I thought that I could only do that through writing, speaking and singing. But recently while having lunch with my friend and a media personality Liz Black (http://www.lizblack.com), something hit me like a ton of bricks.

My entire existence is a Ministry! Did you catch that? Let me say it again. My entire existence; my life, my vocation, my worship, my relationships...everything
.. is a Ministry!

I was under the assumption, and I am sure I am not alone, that evangelism is something you have to go do. For instance most people say they go to the street corners to evangelize or that they did some evangelism while at work etc. But in reality as believers we simply should be evangelism in action. Our entire existence should display the Glory of God and express the Love of Jesus Christ in the earth.

I use to think that I had to separate my vocation from my calling. For instance I use to call my vocation - the "marketing and promotion" of others in ministry. I literally called that my work. But again it hit me as clear as day that even though my writing, speaking and singing is a part of my calling and it is ministry; but marketing and promoting others is ministry as well.

I said all that to say that you too are in ministry. No matter what you currently do, if you are a believer you are in ministry. We are commissioned that in everything we do, to do it as unto the Lord. So don't pray for ministry opportunities, simply accept and embrace the opportunities to minister that come to you everyday by displaying the Glory of God and express the Love of Jesus Christ in the earth. Remember your life is a ministry!
