This was my life in January: living in an apartment I hated with no end in sight; driving a 11-year old Mustang; had a cat (illegally in the apartment we hated) but couldn't get a dog; commuting 45 minutes to work in bumper-to-bumper traffic everyday; hadn't really seriously trained for a triathlon in over a year.
The things that happened in the last 3 (okay, maybe 4) months:
1. Moved into a condo we love, only 10 minutes from work;
2. Got the cutest puppy in the world;
3. Trained for and finished Wildflower (and for anyone in the know, this is the most impressive of the list);
4. and just bought a new Prius that I absolutely adore.
It's like my life did a 180 in the last few months!

This is my life right now:
1. I found a new apartment/condo and movedin the space of 3 weeks - and was only halfheartedly looking in the first place;
2. I go to work at a job that drains the hell out of me;
3. I try never to look at a computer or talk on the phone, because that is what I do all day at work, and therefore lose touch with most of my friends;
4. I drive an hour each way twice a week to train for a triathlon that I am too scared to do;
5. And I am sitting alone in an almost empty apartment because I don't have cable at my new place yet and I just have to watch the Project Runway finale tonight.
This is what my life has boiled down to these days. I feel like I'm becoming a complete hermit. I don't even think I've logged into Myspace since about Christmas, that's how much of a recluse I am becoming. If I didn't have a husband i think I would be considered a hermit!
(I think the worst part is that my list above really doesn't tie in together or make much sense. Maybe I should just go to bed now and hide out for a few days :) ).

2. Elaborate on your default photo: I was getting ready to go to dinner the first night of our cruise for our wedding anniversary.

Current mood:  bored
So Patrick went out of town for a few days, and I am actually bored. It's weird - it's not like I normally do anything different during the week when he's home, but now that he's not hear I feel like I have nothing to do and no one to talk to.
Who would've thought?
I mean, my cat is great company and all, but there's only so long that I can hold the laser pointer for....

Current mood:  depressed
So I just turned 29 on Saturday. Not too bad, right?
Until I went to the grocery store on Sunday and the checker thought I was over 30.
I am spending the next year in bed.

So I'm training for another triathlon. This will be my 4th, but definitely the longest one I've done -- about twice as long as the others. It's just under 2 months away and I'm at the point where I'm tired all the time, my legs are always sore, and I always smell like chlorine even though I only swim 2-3 times a week.
Part of training is also fundraising for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society... my fundraising page is here for anyone interested: www.active.com/donate/tntgla/kaspencer

So I have been informed by my lovely sister that I must blog more. Since I must do what she says, well, here we go. :)
Fair warning: married life is way boring, and I am fully aware that no one wants to hear about it. So I'm going to try to stay as far away from talking about it as possible.
I am going to SF this weekend to do a half marathon. I've been signed up to do it for a while...it's supposed to be an amazing race, with chocolate stops & pedicure stops & a Tiffany's finishers necklace at the end. Sounds great, right? The thing is that I REALLY don't want to go. At all. I'm not dreading the race so much as just the hassle of it all...flying up, having to get to & from the airport, having to pack, only being there a day & then coming home....
Yes, i know the irony: I'll do 13 miles, I just don't want to do the work in order to get to the race!

When did I become such a big reality TV fan? I avoided it like the plague in the days of "Survivor". Now I find myself watching WAY too much. (I blame my Tivo for this, too, of course.) Some of my favorites:
1. RockStar: I watched Rockstar: INXS religiously. I loved it, the whole thing. I hated who won, but then I realized, hello, he's going to be singing for INXS! He's perfect for them! I was very upset to realize the new season started tonight & I missed all but the very last 2 singers. I'll have to catch up on this.
2. American Idol: This last season killed me. Taylor Hicks? Really? Taylor Hicks? I'm sorry, but I need to see this man's birth certificate. He's 28 in the same world that Angelina Jolie is 31 (seriously, isn't this woman like 40???).
3. Project Runway: Okay, I'm new to this one. But I managed to catch a marathon showing of Season 2. I have clearly been missing out. Or is it just that I was missing all of the amazing clothes from The Devil Wears Prada? Hard to say.
4. America's Next Top Model: I resisted at first. Then I hated myself for loving it so much. Seriously, what's exciting about watching pretty girls make pretty pictures? I have no idea. But it thorougly fascinates me.
Okay, only 4? Maybe I'm not doing as bad as I suspected....
