so finally, the day is upon us. in about 7-odd hours, we'll be playing at the red 7 patio in austin, texas.

it's been one incredible trip. i really can't seem to think of how to describe all that we've been experiencing here.

without the support of fans/friends/family and most importantly, the indian council for cultural relations and some personal friends of mine, this trip wouldn't have been possible. so a big thank you to them all.

we hope rock austin and sxsw in particular. the last couple of days i've run into numerous people on the street, random, who say, hey menwhopause, i dig u guys. yesterday, we were at the blind pig pub and joey, the guy who works the bar, turns out to be a big time menwhopause fan. in that process, we got to drink some free lone stars!

so, it's not as if we are not known around here. there are a bunch of people who are looking forward to seeing us live. in fact, for that matter, our gig is being covered by bbc news. yesterday we got interviewed by the new york times and latv.

so then finally, we all are here in austin. got here late night on the 10th. chilled most of yesterday, hanging out in downtown, guitar centre and stuff. expensive cab rides, tried bus rides, got on wrong buses and so on.

but this is a cool town. not many people around, except for downtown late night. pretty vibrant. the bars are pretty cool. weird though that every pub/bar is non-smoking. which is ridiculous i must say. everybody wants to see your id. again, pretty much ridiculous.

but we all are pretty much excited about the whole scene. getting used to life here.

it has been long since i updated this blog. a lot has happened, a lot still left to happen.

the most recent update is that tomorrow we are off to jaipur, to perform at the jaipur heritage international festival. this came about all of a sudden, courtesy penelope spencer.

just a short set, maybe an hour. from 22:30 hours, monday, january 15, 2007. so if you are in jaipur or around, then drop by at the hotel diggi palace.
