Ok so long story short today I was nominated for a JUNO in the R&B/Soul Recording of the Year! For those of you south of the border or in Europe, the JUNOS are Canada's answer to the Grammy's so it's a pretty big deal to get nominated. So how did I feel? Excited doesn't quite explain it. On our way to the press conference for the first time in my life I was so nervous I actually had sweaty palms...I know thats kinda gross but the point is I was really nervous. I'd never been invited to anything like this before and while I was really hoping for a nomination I wasn't 100% sure I was getting one. And then the moment came....and then it went lol. Double Up and I were like two little school kids...I was clapping like a 2 year old when my own name was announced. It was pretty cool. Then I got a chance to do some press, we ate some finger foods, met some fellow artists and left with a free bag of the new tandoori sizzler flavoured doritos in hand. It's been a long day and we're totally exhausted so for now goodnight!

last night double up (thats my dj if you dont already know) and i had a blast sharing the stage with ginuwine, letoya luckett (formerly of destiny's child) and black buddafly. double up was spinning tunes at the concert, for letoya and at the afterparty...thanks to him the music was off tha chain! needless to say we had a blast. got a chance to meet all the artists and can i just say that letoya is an absolute sweetheart! big shout out to fastbreakent.com for doin it big!

next its off to edmonton for three dates next week before we settle into doing somethings back home here in toronto.

Hey hey hey! I'm super new to myspace but I'm absolutely lovin it! Ok so I thought I'd give you guys the 411 on what your girl Deesha has been up to. This year has been a busy one so far and I couldn't be happier about it. In January I headed out with my DJ (DJ Double Up), my dancers (Iman & Liinda) and my guitarist (Kash) to sunny San Juan Puerto Rico for a gig. It was incredible! Got a chance to host a couple of MTV Desi shows as well as do an interview for MTV Desi News which you'll be able to check out on their site in the next day or two (www.mtvdesi.com/news). Then it was off to New York for a week at the beginning of February where I was kept busy attending launch parties and doing interviews, including another one with MTV Desi (I love you MTV Desi!!!!). After that it was time for a much needed vacation so I headed down to South Beach Miami for a few days...man I wish I could have squeezed a few more days out of that one. So long story short I've been keeping busy. We're currently working my latest single "Let Your Freak Out" and we're getting ready to launch a remix contest on my main site www.deesha.com so if you're a producer make sure you check it out!
