Fasting in the bible was done for spiritual reasons....so, it doesn't hurt to get closer to god.
As we look at the Bible it becomes evident that fasting was practiced more often than Christians usually practice it today. In fact, among most American Christians fasting is entirely neglected. I want to challenge you today to begin the practice of fasting. If you accept the challenge of God's Word to fast, I would like to provide some guidelines for you as you begin to make this a more regular part of your Christian life. The Lord will reward your efforts at fasting. Here are some individual guidelines for fasting:
-
Reach a personal conviction on the subject through careful Bible study. -- Get into the Word on your own. See what the Bible really says about fasting. Check the things that have been said here, read the Scripture references listed in this article and the ones listed below, and go deeper.
-
A physician's note: Make sure you are medically able to fast before attempting it. Some brothers and sisters that I know can only do a one-day partial fast. They drink different types of juice, but take no food or other liquid. God knows and understands their medical condition and does not expect them to harm their "temple" (1 Corinthians 6:19) in order to be spiritual. There are no rigid standards about fasting in the Bible that say you must do this or that.
-
Begin with short fasts and gradually move to larger periods of time if you desire. If you've never fasted before, you need to start slow. Don't start with a three day fast!
-
Be prepared for some dizziness, headache, or nausea in the early going. Most of our bodies have never gone without food for longer than a few hours.
-
Break a prolonged fast gradually with meals that are light and easy to digest. Trying to gorge yourself following a fast will only make you sick and will leave you with an unpleasant memory of fasting.
-
Enter with a positive faith that God will reward those who fast with the right motives. - Jesus gave this promise: "When you fast, your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:18).
-
Sometime during your fast, mix your fast with prayer, time in Scripture reading, singing, or devotional reading. Remember: fasting is not an end in itself. Seek the Lord, not the experience of fasting.
-
Keep checking your motives concerning your fasts. Hypocrisy and spiritual pride can easily creep in. There is a reward for fasting, but only fasting done with the right motives (Matthew 23:28).

Ana tips
-
Eat breakfast! This gets your metabolism going.
-
Eat as slowly as you can. It takes your body around 30 minutes to realise it's full. Chew until the food dissolves in your mouth. Become a vegan or vegetarian.
-
Eat in front of a mirror naked.
-
Count to 100 if you're having a craving. Hopefully it will go away.
-
Put your fork down between every bite.
-
Never eat past 7 pm.
-
Wear nail polish to hide the discolouring in your nails from lack of nutrients.
-
Take anti heartburn pills if you're really hungry. They neutralize the acid that builds up and makes you hungry.
-
Keep a bin near you when you eat. If you feel you are going to over eat, throw the rest of the food away.
-
Wear a rubber band around your wrist, snap it against your skin when you're tempted to eat.
-
Drink diet soda. It'll fill you up and only has 1 calorie.
-
Clean something gross, you'll lose your appetite.
-
Brush your teeth. The taste of toothpaste will be horrid with the taste of food.
-
Every calorie counts. When you're sitting, shake your leg, tap a pencil, never stop moving.
-
Drink a glass of water every hour, not only will it make your stomach feel full, it will also give you great hydrated skin. Cold water burns more calories, while warm water makes you feel full.
-
Throw away the foods you think you'll binge on.
-
When going out, only take out the amount of money that you'll need. Nothing extra. That way you won't be tempted to spend it on food.
-
Sitting up straight and having good posture burns 10% more calories than when you slouch.
-
If you feel like eating, eat negative calorie foods only.
-
Carry a picture of your favourite trigger everywhere you go.
-
Take a sip of water between every bite.
-
Stay cold. Your body burns more calories trying to warm you up.
-
If you're binging, don't swallow the food, spit it out.
-
Eat your meals on smaller plates.
-
Clench your butt all the time. Guys like a nice ass and you burn calories too.
-
Pro-plus are caffeine tablets which you can buy at most shops, no need for calorie infested coffee.
-
Get comfy in bed, being comfy means you won't want to get up to get food.
-
Use your mind. Think about what the food would look like in your stomach after you've eaten it.
-
Sabotage your food. Adding too much salt etc works great.
-
Go shopping and try on clothes that you wish you could fit in to.
-
Pinch all your fat and see how disgusting it is and then you'll think that if you eat you'll just add more to it.
-
If people start saying they're worried about your weight loss, get really upset and say how mad you get every time somebody comments on your skinny body. Complain a lot about how you wish you could gain weight so people will stop making rude comments.
-
If you eat, ONLY eat when people are watching.
-
Obesity is disgusting. Remember that.
-
Thinspiration is your best friend. You think you've lost weight? Trust me you haven't. Just check out the models online and you'll realise that.
-
Live by the scales. It's right and you're FAT.
-
Keep in mind - If your skinny friend eats a lot, that DOES NOT mean that you can do the same.
-
Learn to love that empty feeling in your stomach. Trust me you'll feel repulsed when it starts getting full again.
-
Watch what other people, especially fat people, eat and feel superior because they're feeding their bodies and getting fatter.
-
If you're hungry, spin around until you feel queasy.
-
Chew sugar free gum. It keeps your mouth busy!
-
If you eat, remember to sit down in the same place every day. Somewhere solitary; not in front of TV or computer. Eating in front of TV distracts you from your body's fullness signals, and you're more likely not to notice what you're eating.
-
A little envy is a good thing! Competition is a great mobiliser. If you're really hungry, buy a bag of low fat low cal hard candies. When you suck on them a lot your stomach will tell you that you are full.
-
If you feel like you want to eat, go to a friend's house that you cannot just raid the fridge at.
-
When you get hunger pains, curl up in a ball. It really helps them go away.
-
Try eating something fatty but healthy, (like a banana) early in the day. For the rest of the day, when you want to eat, just remind you of the fatty food you ate earlier.
When you're feeling weak...
- Pinch your thigh and see how you don't need food, because you should be eating your own flesh all away from the inside first, before you are deserving of actual legitimate sustenance.
- Go to the library. You can research dieting or whatever, or you can read the classics, or some of the aforementioned listerature. Or you can do homework, or write letters, but the beauty of it is, since no food or drink is allowed, you'll have no choice but to abstain from a meal.
- Buy some baby teething gel and rub it on your tongue, to numb your tastebuds.
- If you're even considering eating, just hold your breath and count to 100. Chances are that you'll convince youself not to eat whatever it is you're craving in that time.
- The scent of coffee has been proven to lessen ones appetite.
- Chew the food but don't swallow it. Spit it in the bin.
- If you're feeling dangerous, plan out the next few hours so that you're occupied for every single minute. Write a list of things to do for every 15 minutes. eg. exercise, surf the internet, email your friends, clean a room, read a book.
- If you're feeling brave enough to face the kitchen, go there and throw out any potential binge foods. If you must, pour bleach/disinfectant/dishwashing detergent on the food, and then throw it away!
- Pinch your ear! Apply pressure to the front of the ear, one at a time. The front of the ear is apparently a pressure point, in the area that controls hunger.
- Let perfume replace chocolate. Every time you have a craving, or pass a bakery, sniff some Chanel no. 5. Apply it to a tissue and carry it with you. Smell has a powerful effect on appetite.
- Clean something. Cleaning something dirty can make you lose your appetite. The toilet, the litter box, under the kitchen sink, scrubbing out the garbage bin, anything grimy or smelly. The mess, along with the smell of the cleaner, can put you off food for a while.
- Become an artist. Write anorexic poetry. Anorexics are creative. Collect pictures of skinny girls. Stick them all in your notebook.

I feel that the reason the divorce rate is so high in this country is cause the media, the government, our colleges and just abt everyone thinks its ok... like taking an aspirin... they even sell divorce kits... u can pick one up at ur local walmart... and just look at all the cheap worldly magazines... all they show are the tremendous role models of our youth... doing what... getting divorced... agn and again... playing with dope... agan and again... its the culture... its the ultimate spiral downward... orchestrated by the devil himselt to ruin the institution of marraige... and destroy its sacredness... its a shame...
But we are in the end times... the devil is sending his missionarys out to confuse us... we are easy victims if we are not in the word of God. The word speaks clearly of the institution of marraige... how loyal we are to be with our spouces... how we are to love them... how it is an institution of one man and one woman... this of course has been attacked recently... and the government and the liberals are trying there utmost to sanatize homosexual and lesbian unions... its crazy... but its also prophecy... there will be mass confusion... where even the elect... can be decieved... we gotta be careful... my prayer is that those in marraige rededicate themselves daily to their vows... remember its not a two person union... if ur Christian... The Lord is in it too... always remember that...
Its just to plain easy to breakup... and we often succumb to peer and family presure... everyone else is a failure... so they dont mind if u walk down the slippery slope also... they will encourage it... careful who u seek ur counsel from... always remember the first Psalm... dont get ur counsel from the UnGodly..!!! but rather delight in the law... thats the word of God... that is the truth... life is not easy and certainly marraige will always have its ups and downs... but we are to seek solutions... not look for the easy way out... dont cop out like the worldly ones... stay loyal to ur spouse... stay in love... stay in church... pray together... thats the formula... want to stay married... stay "In Christ"
Willie

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. For the lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalms 1:1-2, 6 KJB)
This message is intended to make you examine your life as a Christian when measured to the standard of the Bible. Many call themselves Cristians and proudly wear the banner yet their lives and values are far from the teachings of the word of God. Many go by what is percieved as normal or fair, even when this goes fully contrary to the teachings as set forth clearly in the scriptures. Keeping this in mind, I would like to examine the above verses and cull their meaning and seek to make application in our lives today... and in so doing we can answer the question which the title asks. No one is grading you or looking over your shoulder as you read this piece... so I ask that you be brutally honest with yourself... put yourself in the text... what does the word of God tell you...
There are three points that I would like to point out... Firstly, Whose counsel do you seek when confronted by moral or values based questions??... Who are you trying to please?? Do you consider whats popular or whats right as per the word of God?? Are your values those of the popular left... the so called liberal agenda...lets get personal ... im not trying to be controversial... but lets look at some of the current issues in this modern and corrupt world.. lets look at the abortion issue... first fact is that here in the United States there are approx one and a half million abortions performed each and every year... and this holocost has been going on now for thirty years... do the math and you will see that 45 million pregnencies have been prematurly terminated... thats the sterile words used where the real words hurt to much... its outright murder of unborn and innocent children. There are arguments on both sides of the table... but according to the word of God, these atrocious acts go contrary to the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" Exodus 20:13 The scripture is clear... period... Gods position is clear... so what is the argument... there is no arguing with God... The scripture says plainly... THUS SAITH THE LORD. I would imagine that this should put all modern arguments to rest... why are we arguing... so looking at the first Psalm... I ask... whose counsel are you listening to??? The majority says abortion is ok... its legal... it has the government stamp of approval... the babies are not wanted... lots of easy to swallow excuses... only one problem... IT IS CONTRARY TO THE WORD OF GOD..!!!! So why do you cower to defend the word of God... are you afraid of being ridiculed? afraid of going contrary to the trend? afraid of being called a radical Christian? What are you afraid of exactly...?? To wear the banner of a Christian is one thing... But a Christian is one who does not just wear the banner... but seeks the counsel of the Lord... and bases his views per the word of God. Period... he does not try to analize its merits compared to modern society or legal law... his only view and position is on the side of the Lord... So looking at the title of this brief message... how do you classify yourself? Are you a Christian or a Fraud? Are you an ambassador for Christ or not... Are you ashamed of the true Christian position on abortion? Look in the mirror and answer that question... whose side are you on???
My second point I would like to look at is the modern worlds position on Homosexuality. It is very much in vogue to be gay... and the government has passed many laws which protect homesexuals, lesbians, transexuals, transvestites, transgendered... goodness, there are so many terms that I dont even know them all. What is clear is that there is a movement on the way to make this a bonefide lifestyle which has all the blessings of society. Believe it or not there are even Gay Churches and Ordained Gay Ministers, Bishops, etc. Now I dont want to argue the merits of its acceptance by our society at large. What I want to ask is simple... aside from the controversey... what does God say about Homosexuals, Lesbianism and the Gay lifestyle??? Over and over in the scriptures it is called an abomination... a major sin... one that pissed off the Lord so much that he smote the cities of Sodom and Gamora and made it rain fire and brimstone. In numerous other passages in the scriptures this view is consistently presented... it is un-natural, sinful and is scorned. Nowhere in the word of God is it ever accepted. So why should we accept it now? People will argue... that God is Love... and I would agree with that... he loves us all... he loves the sinner... BUT HE HATES THE SIN. So what is your position??? have you swallowed hook line and sinker the counsel of the government, hollywood, the education establishment, the gay agenda and lobbyists. God in the first Psalm... calls them the ungodly... and if you listen and agree with them you are walking in the counsel of the UnGodly. And if thats your walk... if your mind has not been transformed to think like Christ... and you think like the world... well... I want to ask the question posed by the title of this piece... Are you a Christian or are you a Fraud??? In Romans 1:16 the Apostle Paul... states... "for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ..." are you ashamed?? these are difficult questions to answer... would you defend this position if you had too...?? or would you just nod your head and accept the status quo.? if you accept it all... well shame on you. Speak up... dare to go against the grain... stand on the word of God... hold your head up high... dont try to be popular... just be on the side of righteousness.
Looking at the above referenced scripture we started with... I would like to point your attention to the second verse...that the blessed man (or woman) is the one that delights in the law of the Lord...and in his law doth he meditate day and night. These are powerful words with which to lead your life... are you blessed?? do you meditate... study... and try to apply the word of God to your life... do you not only accept the moral teachings as correct... but are they your views... because they are Gods view... do you have the mind of Christ or the mind of the UnGodly. Are you getting pissed off on account of this message?? These are not my views... im just trying to bring out whats in the word of God... going back a few lines... lets revisit the problem of homosexuals in the ministry... is it scriptual or not... Its all so simple now is it not... Its contrary to the word of God... its the ultimate deception... the wolf is in the pulpit... and he is perhaps ordained by some fancy ordination committee... but he or she is not anointed by God to preach... never according to the word of God... so if you are in a church which approves of this ungodly behavior... run for the hills... like Lot... and dont look back... just run... find a real bible believing church... where they call sin.... sin. They dont whitewash it nor condone one continuing in it... but preaches repentence from the old nature... and the renewing and cleansing leading to the new nature... no change... no conversion... no conviction... no conversion.
This has been a long message... but my last point is expressed in verse 6... the point is that you cant fool God.... he knows the way of the righteous... which is godly living... godly morals... godly salvation... and eternal life in paradise... in the presence of God the Father... Jesus and all the Angels...and he also knows the way of the ungodly... they perish... in simple English... that means they die... no party... no afterlife with Jesus... no palace in the sky... just death, eternal death... eternal is a long time... whats your choice... eternal life or eternal death...
May the Lord bless you all for reading this blog... please subscribe and send it to your friends... Lets open some eyeballs and be radical christians... like the ones in the book of Acts... they turned the world upside down... we can do the same today... AMEN.

Current mood:Excited about life... and the one to come...
Category: Religion and Philosophy
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1 KJB)
The promise is no condemnation, but to whom is this all emcompassing promise made to?? Many Christians claim this promise as well as all the other promises in the holy scriptures... but if we look at the verse above we see that is a conditional promise... one that is not just there because you made a proclamation of faith one day... or shed some tears at an altar after hearing a powerful sermon... or because you had a certain feeling that you were saved... the promise is for those that are "IN CHRIST" and only those... so what is it to be in Christ??? This is a very deep question and one which is difficult to answer and I might be crazy for trying to address it in this blog... but it basicly has to deal with what is in your heart. Have you given yourself to the King?? Is he on your mind all the time? Do you desire to seek his way instead of your own way... or worse the way of the world? Are you a New Creature? Have you been born again????? This is the question which the Lord threw at Nicodemus... its the same question I ask you right now... Take a moment to ponder this question... examine yourself and be honest... have you been born again? Is there fruit of this new birth evident in your life...??? has your family noticed...?? have your friends noticed..?? Do you now speak differently?? Do you have a burden for the lost... those that do not know Christ? Do you feel an urgency to spread the good news of the Gospel??
I am asking many questions so that you can get an idea of what it means to be "IN CHRIST". To be in Christ is to be obsessed with him... to love him ... to love the world and everyone in it, to think like him... to walk like him... to do his work... when others see you... they see him... its a metamorphis... there has been a regeneration of the old man... into the new creature... the new man... you aint the same... you will never be the same... you are of a new family... you have a new inheritance... you are kin to the king... you are the child of God.
If you look at the above verse again... there is a further clarification. There appears to be a walk required... the word is not talking about a walk in the park... whenever walk is spoken about in the scriptures, it deals with how you lead your life... so here it addresses how you the professed Christian lead your life.. Are you walking after the flesh or after the spirit?? For if you are the same person you were before accepting the Lord as savior... if your life is the same... no repentence... same foul language... same bad habits, same old worldly friends...hangouts, etc... in other words... nothing has changed... you have the same mind... not his mind... then you are still in the flesh and there is indeed still condemnation and you are still under the curse of Satan... you are still serving the other god... little g. You have been dupped, decieved, lied too... you think you are saved... but your life says otherwise... God cant be mocked... you can claim to be saved... but the scripture says a walk is required... there is still time... for he is waiting to recieve you... just humble yourself... do it in private... talk to him... ask him to do the miricle... to give you the love... to give you his spirit... to change your life.. to take out your old heart and give you the new tender heart... to write the commandments in your heart and in your mind... you dont need tablets... he engraves the word in your heart... you have to believe it... to claim it... you have to live it...
The verse says again that its for those that walk not after the flesh... but after the spirit... So the critical thing to get into your mind is that to be IN CHRIST is to walk in the spirit... the spirit is what indwells in you... He is the Spirit... The Spirit is God and it is He who is in your heart... but you have to engage him... to lean on him... whenever you have a decision to make... you consult him... you follow his lead... where is his light leading you... this is where you want to walk... you lifes aim is to please him...
Its never going to be easy to follow the spirit... the scripture never says the path is easy... in fact, it points to many trials and tribulations for those that choose to walk with the King... but the promise to those that finish the race is Eternal Life...!!! nothing less... more than worth it... the scripture tells us that he is coming back soon... in the meantime he is preparing a place for us... and if he is making a place for us... he will come back for us... the promises are grand and many... but its for those who walk in the spirit... my prayer is that these few words help you to reflect on how you are leading your life.... may God richly bless you. I welcome all your comments... pls let your friends know abt this new blog... I will try to make a posting at least once a week.
