The new single, penned by O'Neal, Roxie Dean and Patricia Ann Murphy and produced by husband Rodney Good (Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Shooter Jennings, Waylon Jennings), is a soulful and compelling song that delivers the notion of living and loving like there's no tomorrow. A chance encounter with a military couple in an airport reminds the listener to cherish the one they love and the time they have been given to spend together.

"In this unpredictable life, you never know what's going to happen," says O'Neal, "so grab the one you love, and hold on tight. That's what 'Soldier Comin' Home' means to me."

"Soldier Comin' Home" to country radio on Monday, June 8.  Show your support by calling your local radio stations and requesting as often as possible.  A list of stations can be found on Jamie's myspace and the official website www.jamieoneal.com.

A couple years ago on CMT, Jamie O'Neal had the pleasure of writing a song called "Look What Love Built", for Millard and Linda Fuller, founders of Habitat For Humanity.  Jamie is honored to be able to sing that song once again at the memorial celebration honoring Millard Fuller, the wonderful Fuller Center for Housing and all the hard work and love that he and his wife put into it.  The Celebration will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta on Saturday, March 14th.  More information can be found at www.fullercenter.org and on The Fuller Foundations facebook event page.

Hey Guys,

It's been a little while since I've posted any blogs. Things have been very busy getting ready for my upcoming album release on 1720.

We recently did a photo shoot and the photos look great. The label is putting together artwork and everything but I hope to have something to show everyone very soon.

I really love the new material and hope that you will too. The music is really a good representation of me as a person.

I've been doing a few one-off shows including the Opry but have been trying to take it a bit easy until the album is finished.

I appreciate everyone sending me messages and adding me as a friend.

Please keep in touch and make sure to stay tuned for new music, pictures and video!!

1720 Entertainment has signed award-winning country vocalist and songwriter, Jamie O’Neal to their Nashville roster. A new single is expected to be released in early summer, with an album to follow in the fall.

O’Neal first exploded onto the music scene in 2000 with the release of her first album, the gold-certified SHIVER. The album won over critics and fans alike and earned her three Grammy nods in 2002. The first single, "There Is No Arizona" went to 1 on the charts and she followed up with another 1 with the self-penned‚ "When I Think About Angels." That same year, the ACM named her the Top New Female Vocalist; and Radio & Records awarded her with the 1 Most Valuable Country Artist and Female Artist. She also took home honors for Billboard’s Top New Country Artist.

As a songwriter, O’Neal has had songs recorded by such notable artists as LeAnn Rimes, CeCe Winans, and Martina McBride. Additionally, she has had songs on the soundtracks of Bridget Jones’s Diary, When We Were Soldiers and ABC’s hit series, Desperate Housewives.

In 2005, O’Neal released her second album BRAVE which spawned two additional chart-toppers,
"Trying To Find Atlantis‚" and "Somebody’s Hero."

"We are thrilled to have Jamie as a part of the 1720 family," says 1720 Entertainment President and CEO, Terry K. Johnson. "As everyone knows, she is an amazing vocalist who writes great songs that touch the hearts of country music fans. Jamie has had an incredible career and huge impact on country music, but I believe her best is yet to come!"

"I’m so excited about this new phase in my career," says O’Neal. "1720 is one of the most innovative and creative companies to hit Nahville and I’m thrilled to be partnering with them."

1720 Entertainment was established in 2004 by Terry K. Johnson. The company based in Atlanta, GA opened its Nashville office in 2007. O’Neal joins rising country star Rissi Palmer on the Nashville roster.

Jamie was at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC over the weekend to perform at NASCAR's Nextel All-Star Challenge. She performed a powerful rendition of "God Bless America."

O'Neal, a NASCAR fan herself, had the opportunity to attend the driver's meeting before the race where she met not only a few of the drivers but she got the chance of a lifetime to meet basketball great Michael Jordan.

She toured the garage before the race as the various race cars were getting prepared and checked over. She got to see Mark Martin's crew get his car ready for the big race.

Nextel and NASCAR invited O'Neal to ride in the official pace car to open the race. Daughter, Aliyah, was also on hand for the fun-filled day.

Trying To Find Atlantis -
The first time I heard this song, it just spoke to me about my past and how long it takes to find the perfect man and how you have to kiss a lot of toads before you meet the right prince. So many of my songs are serious, and it has that funny sense to it that just appealed to me, that Yeah, if I can laugh at this, then somebody else will.

Naive -
I think everyone has that first love where you felt like everyone would be together. When youre young, you think, Im gonna do this, Im gonna do that, then Im gonna go here, then Im gonna go there. You make all these plans, and then you think theres nothing you cant do. You feel like youre invincible. Meanwhile, the adults are laughing, patting you on the back saying, Aw, dont rush. Youll find out when youre older. You get so aggravated, but you eventually find out life just doesnt work out that way. Its funny to look back on it when you do run into someone from that period in your life.

Somebodys Hero -
I had been saying to all my co-writers, I really want to write about family. I really want to write about my little girl. And the thing for me was, when you have a baby you start thinking about your own relationship with your mother. And when you were little, how much you looked up to them and then you move to, Gosh, my baby looks up to me so much. I dont want to let her down. I want to be a hero to her. And its not just your mother. You start thinking about the other generations of womenmy paternal other grandmother - I was so close to her before she passed away, and I think that song is a real tribute to the women in my life.

When Did You Know
When youre dating someone and youre falling in love, you think they feel the same way. Then when they tell you they dont feel that way and youre not the one, its such a knife in the heart. And that question does come to mindHow long have you known this? When did you first know that you felt this way? What a waste of time that is, to sit around and analyzeWell, when we went here, did he feel? How could he do this to me? But you still do it. You cannot help yourself. I feel like that song is one of those pour-yourself-a-glass-of-red-wine-and-sob-in-it kind of songs.

Devil On The Left -
One of my co-writers, Lisa Drew, is a big-time reader. She reads everything she can possibly get her hands on. She never really socializes, just so she can stay home and read. Thats where she gets her song ideas. She was on a plane and read this story of a stripper, and the stripper had a tattoo of a devil on the left and an angel on the right. She said, Thats meIm a little bit this way and a little bit that way. And, of course, we made up our own story when it came to writing the song. I wanted to write a kind of swampy song, like Fancy. We took the idea to Rivers, and it all came together.

On My Way To You -
When I hear that song now, I think of my baby. Theres a plan for everyone, and you never know what that plan is. But the reason I wanted to write that song, and the reason I had that title, was my husband, and thinking, What are the odds that a girl whos born in Australia, thats traveled the world as much as I did, meets up with someone from East Tennessee that stayed in one spot his whole life? He moved to Nashville, obviously, but to think that all these turns that I took led me to him, I just thought that was cool. Its like the song Nave, how you plan things out, and how nave that is, because you cant plan your life out. You never know where somethings going to take you and whats going to come out of your next experience.

Follow Me Home -
We always like to think when we get married that its going to be a bed of roses, and the honeymoon periods going to last forever, but there are times when you just think, I need space, I gotta think, I need to be away from you. Then when you leave, or they leave, this huge emotion comes over of I cant walk away from this. I need this person. I love this person too much. Weve got to work this out. And this songs about is reaching out and letting pride fall away. When pride gets in the way, it becomes a Mexican stand-off, and you refuse to give in. My husband and I are really like that. We have big blow-up fights, but we always know whats important in the end.

Girlfriends -
After I had the baby, I was emphatic that I dont become one of those women that has a baby and doesnt go out with their friends again, and doesnt know how to have a good time because, Oh, Im a mom now. I cant do that. So I still manage, when I put her to bed, to go out with my friends, have a good time, have a few drinks, and thats what we wanted to write about - your girlfriends will always be there for you through thick and thin, no matter what. I wrote it with my dad and Lisa Drew, and it was funny, cause Lisa said, Can we say girlfriends kick ass? And my dad was like, Ooooo, I dont know about that. But it was two girls against one male, so he had no chance.

Ready When It Comes -
Beth has been through breast cancer, and I lost my grandfather and my aunt to cancer. We wanted to sing about the struggles of life, and we wanted to go from something thats a little bit more run of the mill, like a nine-to-five job, to someone having to go through the hardest thing that anybody has to go through. And then the bridge obviously is finding the strength you need and realizing you had it all along.

Brave
I wanted to write a song about going through a hard time, feeling really beaten down, and thinking, How do I come back from this? Its really so hard when you have failure. Annie had been through some very hard trials, just like me. Shes fought a really serious illness for the last 10 years. Shes always trying to bounce back. She plays piano, and sometimes her hands are so sore she cant play, shes in and out of the hospital. No matter what happens around you, or to your body, youre still basically the same person inside. And we wanted to write a song about that, because we could totally relate. Wed already written a verse and half the chorus, and Tim said, What are we gonna call it? And I said I thought we should call it Brave, because thats what its aboutthe emotion of being brave to get through something.

I Love My Life -
That song, to me, says it all. Thats why I wanted to end the album with that song. Its so me, and basically tells our story. It also means a lot to me because my babys on there and my little dog, barking at the end.
