MARKLEY BLACK BRASS SNARE DRUMS TO BE HEARD
ON TIM MCGRAW’S NEW ALBUM

MARCH 2008 - Billy "THUNDER" Mason has joined the Markley Family of Artists with his endorsement of our Markley Custom Black Brass Series of snare drums. Here is what he had to say about them when we caught up with him:

"Hey, this is Billy "Thunder" Mason with Tim McGraw. I’m in the studio in Nashville recording our new album.... I’m recording the Markley 5x14 and 6.5x14 Black Brass snares and I LOVE them! I highly recommend these drums to all! "

Billy’s drum tech for the sessions, Brett Vargason, tells us that these 2 Markley snare drums were used for a large percentage of the tracks on Tim McGraw’s latest studio album project. We can’t wait to hear the final tracks!

Be sure to check out Billy’s Official Site, or send him a friend request on myspace!

WELCOME TO MARKLEY CUSTOM DRUMS SCOTT!!!

Jonny Brenner/Guitar, Scott Schneider/Drums, Neal Dallmer/Bass, Kari Schneider/Vocals

The members of Down to One featuring vocalist Kari Schneider, guitarist Jonny Brenner, drummer Scott Schneider, and bassist Neal Dallmer - turn defiance and passionate conviction into massive walls of sound, constructed by pounding ryhthms, heavy guitars and powerful melodies. Captured in many of their songs are the challenges that people face every day, from being pressured and beat down, to fighting to overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable. What sets Down to One apart is the positive perspective that they lend to those problems. "Our music directly reflects issues that we've dealt with in our own personal lives," says Kari. "If we can have a positive impact on others through our own struggles, then we have succeeded in what we've set out to do."

The passion and pain is evident in the song "Echoes", a battle cry against those that take advantage of and abuse others in the name of religion and status, and the emotionally charged "Donít Fade Away" that tackles the topic of abuse, faith and inner strength.

Down to One formed with four musicians that just happened to catch lightning in a bottle with a contrasting sound of hauntingly melodic and beautiful vocals over heavy guitar crunch and stomping beats. "From the beginning, we wanted to do something different from what people are used to hearing", says drummer Scott Schneider. "Each one of us brings something different to the table, and oddly enough, we don't compromise musically with each other very much. Our individual styles shine through to create something really special".

Currently supporting their self-titled release, Down to One is taking their music to the streets with shows at festivals and clubs throughout the East Coast and beyond in 2007-2008.

We are proud to announce that Markley Custom has won the 2006 Custom Snare Drum Build-Off Contest hosted by drumshed.org!!!!

Our winning entry was an 8x14" Black Rainbow Sparkle Lacquer snare, complete with matching wood hoops, Nickle snare switch, and our own custom MCD Tube Lugs. The drum is 10-ply maple with 6-ply maple reinforcing rings. The edges are 45 degree inside, roundover on the outside, and hand finished. The snare beds are deep and wide, supporting up to a 42-strand snare unit.

The sound of this drum is deep, fat and very woody, with just the right amount of ring. It's an absolute CANNON! I can't wait to get it into the studio!!

Here are some finished pics:

Ok kiddies, here are some pics of one of our endorsers, Jason Dering with Barefoot, playing the kit at the Troy, PA Fair. The drums sounded awesome, (of course)  The snare is one of our very popular 6x14 all-cherry snares, with  a Natural Quilted Cherry finish.

Jason is a fantastic drummer, and the band's got a great sound - check 'em out at: http://www.myspace.com/barefoot
