THE JEWELBOX THEATER! [please take a few minutes to read this and become more familiar with our beautiful theater]
*The Jewelbox Theater is a very unique theater space within the Rendezvous Bar/Restaurant in the heart of Seattle's Belltown.
*We offer musicians/promoters a chance to produce their own event, DIY-style, but with professional sound and theater lighting, and the guidance to direct it.
*It's probably the most intimate place in Seattle to play that'll still make you feel like a rock star.
*For four hours, the room is yours!  It's generally enough time for three bands, four if there's minimal set-up.
*Enjoy all our amenities including cocktail service into the theater for all yr fans!
*All genres welcome, the more the merrier!
*We supply a Green Room, complete with a refrigerated case of beer!, for the bands backstage, bigger than the (original) Crocodile's!

How it works:
1. After securing the date, and making a 3-4 band bill, all you really have to worry about is getting people to come out.  Postering is HEARTILY encouraged, and if you can drop off a stack (50-100) at the bar, we can have them hung around Capitol Hill at no charge to you.  We also conduct press releases to various Seattle medias, usually 2-4 weeks before yr show, and provide yr listing in our Stranger ad, on top of our coverage on our various websites (www.jewelboxtheater.com, myspace & facebook)
2. Load-in is officially at 10pm for most late shows, though bands are encouraged to show up by 9:30pm, as the early show may clear out early, and you can get a jump on load in.  You should check in with the House Manager (also yr soundperson, they are here to help the show go smoothly), before loading in, of course. Music usually starts around 10:30pm, and has to be over by 1:30am to allow time for load out before closing.
3. You work the bar's interior theater door (bringing a doorperson is usually best, or band members can take turns, etc.), setting yr own cover charge, and keeping the take.  You'll pay the professional soundperson his fee directly, sometime during the course of the evening.  The normal sound rate is $85, yet we offer Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday late night specials at $60.  It is best to bring some 1s & 5s for change (as needed)
4. Have a Bl'ast!

Technical Aspects:
 --Sound Operation is provided.
--Our Allen&Heath sound board has 10 open channels, 8 XLR inputs, 2 quarter inch inputs
--We have 8 mics, 3 Mackie monitors, 2 Main speakers
 --The stage is approximately 12'x15'
--Capacity of the room is 85+/-, depending on chair/table arrangement.

Fine Print:
       A. You have the room from 10pm-2am (unless otherwise arranged), there will most likely be an early show before yrs, and they have the theater until 10pm.
B.All attendees and performers are to be 21+, as we are a bar in Washington State.  In rare circumstances we can allow underage performers, but it is discouraged.

       C. Recording Audio/Video may add to the room fee, to be determined before the show.
       D. We will charge $85 for any shows cancelled within two weeks of the booked date.  Any show cancelled within 48 hours will be charged $170, due to the extreme difficulty in re-booking at that point.
