The Air on my SI has always been mediocre at best, so this week is the time to do something about it. I dropped the car off Tuesday after work for warranty repair on the AC. Compressor was bad and Honda was going to fix under warranty. They're not going to fight me on my mods and accuse my Air intake of causing the compressor to fail. sweet right? Too easy... I wake up to my Cellphone beeping about an hour before the alarm clock goes off. 2 missed messages, both from Honda East where I dropped my Civic the other night for the A/C warranty repair. My first thought, odd that they'd call twice to inform me that the car is done. Maybe they're going to fight the warranty and tell me that my car being lowered caused the A/C to fail prematurely and the repairs would cost $1000 for me.

Close, in that it will be quite expensive.. but yet wrong.

My car was worked on, and then put back outside while Honda awaited new parts.
Driver side window was broken last night. Total contents removed:

Cheap "Task Force" portable tool kit/box worth ~$50.. missing several tools.
Amp/Sub/Sub box - both several years old, but nice $$$ stuff when new. ~$600
Tire pressure gauge ~ 12

And the kicker, new window will be $275.

Only for me does a free warranty repair end up costing $900 .
Dealership has you sign a 'not liable' waiver before working on the car so I cannot point the finger at them.

Police report has been filed, but whomever hit me will surely get a free lunch from this chump. No one ever gets caught when I'm the victim.

Insurance has been called, I'm waiting for their 'glass specialist' to get back to me, but I'm probably NOT going to bother with claiming this on my policy as handling something so small in the scheme of things probably will not be worth a 5 year increase in insurance. My progressive coverage expires 8/2 and I'll be jumping ship to 21st century 8/2. I guess you could say that this little adventure negates any savings I had reaped from changing providers in the first place.

Icing on the cake this week, Hard drive ..2 took a dump.
MP3s were backed up as I knew this was coming for a while, but I've lost all of my pictures..

Looks like progressive will fix the glass for Free, no change and no deductible. Monday they'll fix the glass 1-5 pm. Sigh.. such a busy week coming up. The pics aren't horrid, Honda already cleaned ~ 90f the glass out for me.

A power failure due to the storm on Tuesday ate my details of my Trip to chicago last weekend, so here's the clif notes.

*My car was not cleaned to my liking before the trip.
*300 miles later to chicago the car was even dirtier.
*The only car in the 15 car caravan that won jack shit at the car show broke down 20 minutes outside of cincy
- the $100 prize $ was spent on drinking
*A portion of the caravan saw a wreck and had to give a statement to police
*We hit the 'perpetual wall of traffic' surrounding Chicago and everyone got lost
*Roll in took forever, cleaned the car in the sweltering heat without running water.. much harder than it sounds
*Half the group was left at the convention center without a ride to the hotel. ~$80 for 8 people to get to the hotel via Cab.
*Rode scary bus through China town ..didn't get china town food :( so cruel....
*Burnt the tastebuds off my tongue w/ chicken noodle soup
*Finally got a cab ride to the hotel, ~ $25 for the 8 of us
*The Hotel makes a killer screwdriver! 2 Killer screwdrivers, a white russian and minimal food (the hot soup) in 14 hours makes me pass the fuck out
*11 hours is a looooong time when you're stuck @ a car show and can't leave
*My Power inverter didn't work right, and I was unable to have my TV and DVD player running during the show
*you have to be a girl to get a VIP pass after about the first 20 minutes
*you have to get into the VIP tent to get alcohol
*sharing VIP passes makes 11 hours pass a little more quickly
*the whole 'rave meets carshow' idea of hot import nights is pretty cool, unless you wanna take pics ... because there's no fucking lights
*I lost my checking account linked debt card
*I canceled it before any damage was done

*If you need any reason to leave 5/3rd bank.. how about... if you lose your Checking account linked debt card on a saturday night, the "lost or stolen credit card" number is a VOICE MAIL. Meaning while some on call fuckstick is sleeping, my hardly hard earned car-part funds are being spent on Old English Malt Liquor and Crack!

*I went pretty much to the HIN afterparty after being @ the carshow for 11 hours without returning to the hotel room to freshen up, the after party (at 2 am) wouldn't let me and the guys riding with me into the club without Dress shoes

This was a pic of the tail end of a lightning storm in Tulsa. The storm began while we were at dinner on saturday night, and had just about died down by the time I could get back to the hotel, back to my room for my camera, and back up to the roof of the garage. None of the pics I shot turned out, so I'm borrowing this pic from a fellow prelude driver. This was the only pic of the lightning that I could find, but this is really just a small sample of the light show the Tulsa Skies had to offer. There was no rain, just heavy wind, and lightning and thunder everywhere.






Here's my STI all taped up @ the Indianapolis rest stop.. ready to make the nearly nonstop caravan out to Tulsa.


We hit some traffic at Dawn just outside of St. Louis. I took advantage of the pause and too a pee off to the side of the road.

Almost to Oaklahoma we Stopped @ Steak and Shake for food, and saw that they have Fag bearings. I dont know what a Fag bearing is, but they had them.

This is a 'pr0n destroys' billboard, right outside of an adult store. Lots and lots of this sort of road side bible thumping going on in missouri.

I dont have any pics from Thursday night at the casino, but I can assure you that I had a huge shit eating grin after winning $250 off of $0.15. After the casino the plastic ball on my rear tongue barbell broke and I had to get it replaced. Bought a new barbell @ hot topic at a local mall. 3 14 gauge Titanium colored barbells for $20.. what a waste. Oh well.


Friday Night off to the local Drag strip. It was 95 Degrees out (even after the sun went down), just about everyone was running slow, my best time was a 13.9 @ 97 MPH which is just fast enough to keep me from getting angry and going on a shotgun rampage killing spree. Traction seemed decent (much better than edgewater) but I still still getting shitty 1.8-2.0 60 foot times.

Here is probably the coolest looking burnout I've ever seen a prelude do.

Up bright and early @ 6 Am for the ride over to Hallet. There was a bit of rain on the way over, but we had a nice dry (hot) fun filled day at the track.



These 2 pics are of my friend from New York, Kiril. He had a 2005 Infinity G35 that he got 2 weeks before the event. On the way down the transmission broke, he ended up at a dealer and they wanted to keep the car for a week for repairs. Eventually he got a loaner car, but at first the dealership was adamant that they wouldn't give him one. He was questioned about having a helmet and approx. $400 worth of missouri bought fireworks in the car though.

Yay me! I ended up only getting 3 heats in, I really ate up my brake pads out there, and I was afraid to do any additional heats without having a spare set of pads on had to get myself home from Tulsa. New pads are $299 from Subaru. LAME. I've got a set of Hawk Pads on the way out now (only $85, and probably work alot better :D ).

We did have 2 accidents this year, this prelude and an RSX spun off the track and hit a tire wall. The damage wasn't awful with either car, both were still driveable.

We tried a 'plastic' (yes I know, I thought it was stupid too) tubing fix from autozone.

Then we humped the car.

Finished 'fixed' exhaust.

and then the burnt up exhaust. During this 'leg' of the trip home I rode as passenger in the lotus. We got up to approx 120 MPH. The Plastic hose melted and the fumes from it came up into the car, I had tears in my eyes during my whole two hour ride in the lotus.

The day got off to a bit of a late start, but timing was perfect. Brad and I reached the venue with just enough time to get a drink and peruse the merchandise tables before the opener, Imperative Reaction, took the stage.

I liked their set, this was my first time hearing them. Brad was bitching about the sound but I didn't really notice things being out of whack. I went ahead and purchased their latest CD I also got a cool VNV nation work shirt which just looks sexy on me.

VNV fucking rocked. They played for 2 hours, and did 2 encores. I got to shake hands w/ Ronin too. </fan gurl>
The Lights/Visuals for the show were great, the sound was great, and the Venue, Cleveland House of Blues is an awesome location for a concert. The 'floor' area is smaller than the basement at southgate house. I absolutely cannot wait to see them @ the Madison in covington.

After the show Brad and I ended up going to some hole in the wall bar where the pay phone kept ringing. Brad answered it and fucked around a bit with the person calling the payphone. You know you've got an alcohol problem when people call a hole in the wall bar looking for you. The person in question, "Kat" (male Kat) had indeed been to the bar tonight, but had already left.

The drive to Cleveland and back was pretty much un-eventful. I dont think I saw a single Cop gunning the whole way back from Cleveland.
