Current mood:mood

Saturday night,
we've been invited to play at this show in tourcoing
with herman dune and friends (turner cody, labolduc, this is a kit and sister lisa li-lund)
we were part of the friends too
it was long
we played around 4 am though we arrived at 3pm
wich makes 13 hours of drinking beer, talking, drinking beer, playing guitar in caravans, drinking beer, not setting up our sounds because the time was too short, drinking beers, eating some kind of weird good soup, drinking beers again.
a big part of the audience was lying down in long resting chairs.
*flashback*
a week before, we recorded most of our songs that haven't been recorded formerly this summer at my paren't house
it was pretty fun
but as i was working at this time, i had no time to mix the whole thing
but we knew we had some shows in october and we definitely needed our new cd
so we spent the whole last week working on it
Violette, Mikka and Lily  l'Eclair did an awesome job with the package, still in our cardbox way, plus violette spent a lot of time drawing for a t-shirt we made for our band
we argued a lot, colors, sizes, quantity, mentally exhausting
i guess somehow we're still kids that sometimes just can't get along, as we just wan't our idea made, and no compromise, we always want the whole thing, not half of it, but it's not that easy
me, i worked all week long over that mix
listening to lapin machin 10 hours a day
i finally got to hate this band
to hate their songs
i still don't really know what we wanted
i mean, we tried to have a sound we like, and to keep up the energy inside the recordings
but i don't know
i've listened to those stuff so many times that it doesn't even make any sense anymore
i finally got to sleep friday night around 5 am, ending up the burning of the cds with Claire
a really deserved 4 hours of sleeping before we take the bus with the HD family for tourcoing
*end of the flashback*
saturday, midnight
we were damn exhausted, drunk, but not too much, or maybe too much too really feel it, i dunno really
hanging around the place just to try to keep us awake
i felt in this weird state where time has no place
but it was midnight, and herman dune started playing
and they woke up everyone
noone know if it was the songs, their dancing rythms, or the enjoyable appearance of their trumpet, or maybe all at once, but everyone finally got up from the floor they were sitting on.
not on top was pretty ace
3 hours later came our turn to play
it took us a long time to set up the scene since we hadn't made any sound check before the show, setting up the mics and stuff, then we finally started playing
at this time i just expected it to turn out pretty crazy since we were all in a weird state of mind but it happened that we had no sound on stage, it felt like i was playing alone in my bedroom, i couldn't hear anything but my amp, and it was the same for the rest of us
pretty hard to feel the music that way
and the fact is that none of us had a mind clear enough to ask the sound engineer to turn the onstage sound on
so it endend up in too things
first we had no idea of what came out of that show
second, we just tried to do our stuff the best way we could, but we know we could have done it better
later, i just realised, while talking with claire about the show, that i definitely enjoyed playing it, i was just not aware of it while i was doing it.
i just loved playing that new song violette made, super rabbit, i'm just hitting a tambourine on it, but this is so exciting, making that pom popom pom popopom.
everything finally ended the best way it could have, we played popcorn, joined by david on noisy guitar and neman on drums, and outrageously enjoyed it
i just can't wait to have the chance to do it again.

end of the too long review
